UNCOMPRESSED metroid prime 4 footage best looking switch game??

It looks really good!

Now, unless the Switch 2 automatically "boost" the performance of the Switch 1 game (aka, i wouldnt have to buy "Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Switch 2 version"), I will skip it to not buy the same game twice... probably (if the game is just TOO good, i might be unable to resist just getting the switch 1 version)
Switch 2 version should be available at the same time.

It can run on it, see the 2050 mobile running the Transformer model in YouTube.
Sure the hardware can but this is a locked console. I Hope it can. Dlss transformer and fsr 4 Are really Great for Image quality.

These upscalers have become so good, I would Never Not use them of I have the option

Nothing screams small virginal dick energy than being unable to accept the fact a game looks good because you didn't buy the hardware It runs on because you are emotionally invested in another brand.

This thread is like a looking straight into peoples insecurities lmao

How are people saying this game doesn't look good? It looks awesome even in stills, it's gonna be gorgeous in fluid motion 😍

Good art direction beats even the most cutting edge tech every single time.

Oh look another nintendo thread be like
"A NEW GAME! HOLY SHIT!"
"Where is the next trailer Nintendo?'
"Nintendo hasn't shown anything new in a while. Are they secretly ashamed of it?"
"Finally, new footage!"
"The trailer wasn't cinematic enough and it looks like other games in the series" <- Metroid fans here
"FINAL TRAILER! OMG! DID YOU SEE THAT?! AND THAT?! HOLY SHIT! GAME OF THE YEAR!
"NINTENDO, PLEASE STOP. YOU'RE SHOWING TOO MUCH NOW! YOU'RE SPOILING IT!"

You need your eyes testing. I'll emulate and play the shit out of this on PC, it looks stunning.
Recently tested, 20/20 vision thank you very much. This is far from stunning, so far thst even Frodo would hesitate to do the trip.

You need higher standards pal, or at least a name change to "DirtInMyEye".

DirtInUrEye.

The original Snake Eater game. Now that was a bad looking release, made during the peak of the grey gaming era.

I recommend watching the linked video. That bridge looks amazing in a static screenshot. But in the video there's wavy aliased lines. A static screenshot can hid imperfections that motion exposes.

I recommend waking the F up. This is a damn Switch we're talking about. 2015 tablet hardware.

What Retro is doing with it technically, combined with a fantastic art style, is simply amazing. You better believe this is the best Switch can do.

There are other Switch games that don't have these issues and IMO look better. So no, I don't believe this is the best the Switch has done.

1) All games look better when you remove YT's horrible compression.
2) Even with that.. This isn't a very good looking game, like the new Xenoblade looks >>>> than this.
3) If any other company comes out with this game they get blasted over it.

Even if you don't think it's the best looking Switch game ever, it's most definitely one of the best looking ones out there.

I'd personally be baffled if a title that looks this good visually came from a 3rd party dev.

I haven't played anything on Switch that comes even remotely close the the Prime Remaster from any other company.

I honestly don't think it looks good at all.

But then again, I haven't given a fuck about Nintendo in over 2 decades now. I think the love people have for a brand can blind them to its flaws.

Can't really argue with that. But I personally don't think we would be seeing anything but praise for the visuals if a 3rd party dev managed to put out something that looked like this on the Switch.

These graphics always look excellent on small screenshots, but never do in a real life.
Fingers crossed the docked Switch 2 Edition of the game can bring it up to 4K, or at least somewhat close using DLSS.

I really hope we get to see it again on Wednesday in all its Switch 2 glory.

And you say that because of my avatar?
You are either a kid or a troll. Snake Eater was a good looking game back in 2004 and there are not many games, console or PC, that looked much better than it.

MP4 would love to have as modern graphics as MGS3 had in 2004.

They are gonna need a higher quality texture pack though. Samus has already a good amount of detail but a lot of the environment around her is pretty low resolution, especially the ground.

Crysis a game from 2007/2008 blows Metroid Prime 4 away, nearly 20 years later LOL.

You are comparing High end gaming Pc game from back then to a 10 years old mobile chip.

And Luigis Mansion 3 is best looking game i have seen on switch.

Or everyone doesn't have the same expectations as you in the visual department, and maybe have higher expectations in other topics ?
I have no problems with titles not having the latest and greatest graphics, nothing in life is perfect.

My problem starts when people call mid graphics great and insist that we all have to do the same.

Those shots weren't that good. And they were from the Warhead expansion release. The original Crysis is an 18 year old game, and the Nintendo Switch's hardware smokes the PC hardware of the time

Which lead to the Crysis Remastered Switch ports.

But if it looks great to many of us what's the problem? You're getting fomo for feeling different? Lol.

Look, this is gonna blow your mind, but if we're talking purely about visuals, I'd rather play Xenoblade 3 or Elden Ring than RDR2 or TLOU whatever, they look better to me than the later, like there's just no comparison. See? This is how it works.

Ultimately that's your taste.

But I honestly think the art design is also kinda mid. There's nothing very surprising about it is all.. It's just more Metroid Prime to me, and when you're 4 installments deep into a series, you better bring the A game on all levels.

Maybe, who cares?

I love how it looks. You know what? I have a PC with a 4070 SUPER, I played Indiana Jones in 4K, I played so many current gen games in their best quality... And I still think that Metroid Prime Remastered looks better! Which is funny because it doesn't use any modern tech. But the style, art direction, lighting... Every room is a new discovery. I am doing the remastered version for the third time already, 10/10 game.

At the end of the day, when I see MP4 I don't care if there is a little bit of aliasing, I don't care if there is no RT, if it runs at a 900p definition, it looks great anyway.

It's just more Metroid Prime to me
Which is what we want. And we didn't see anything about the game yet, the footage we saw is maybe from the first hour or so, I would say even less.

Ah, I can see the famous next gen variable resolutions going on in the middle of a screenshot. Marvelous.

And you use that against this?

This thread has been nothing but a trash heap. It shows the absolute worst of NeoGaf.

Beautiful, keep it up lads.

If they've made a Switch 2 version I hope so, and that they've included more advanced lighting, effects etc.

It'll definitely be interesting to see the comparison shots.

It's Nintendo, they won't bother with that man. A res bump is all you'll get.

Yeah, I'm definitely snorting hopium on this one.

But if they have multiple Switch 2 Edition titles, like, say, the rumored BotW Remaster, I think they're going to do more than just up-res it.

And I imagine they'd want to have a small segment of the presentation where they can show the Switch 2 Editions of games and really sell the fact that these editions come with a lot more bells and whistles and you should think about getting a Switch 2.

But then again the BotW Remaster might as well just be a res bump with some added content to entice people.

We'll know in less than 72h!

I don't think people who are happy with these visuals are enforcing their opinion, unlike people who don't give a shit about the game, yet spam these topics with "this game looks like a PS2 game, Nintenlol".

Sure... A sequel to a game just looks like that game... Unforgivable...

I think art style on Prime 4 is good. Its reminding me of Prime 3 instead of Prime 1. Which can be a bit of a problem.

Hopefully game has more atmospheric and dark environments. Alien planets should feel like that.

Still day 1.
