I thought pc parts had like safety protocols to avoid damage when the pc shut off...
They do, you'd generally wind up with software problems first due to data corruption/loss, but certain things, like ssd garbage collection, could damage the hardware if interrupted suddenly.

I finished the single player campaign and I played a bit of the operations.
I'm enjoying the game a lot, but:

- I'm not sure how to feel about the balance of some aspects of the game.
- God, the way these multiplayer lobbies work is so unnecessarily slow and convoluted. So many loading screens and "joining servers" even for passages that could be arguably managed entirely client-side.
- Only TWO types of enemies (tyranids and Thousand Suns) doesn't really leave room for a lot of variety in the long run.

Ive been doing the coop missions theyre pretty fun, I like how they tie-in to the main story.

There were some pretty epic sounding moments in the game that happen off screen you hear over the radio or something, its cool to actually get to play those.

Bulwark is also really fun to play, fucking love wading into those hordes with sword and shield lol.

One of the Senior Writers on this game was trans and a “pink haired soul sucker”. Some people on the internet lost their damn minds when that came to light.

I guess that's why the game isn't exactly perfect. So close. The quicker they root out the mind virus weaklings, the better. Let them work on The Last of Us 3 etc and stay the fuck out of Warhammer.

The writing in the game was great. It’s perfectly possible that people are able to write good stories that are separate from their personal beliefs. It’s the mark of a good writer.

The game is a 7 at best….sucks I got into the hype and bought the version with early access
Let me guess:

Too much mindless horde fighting for most of the campaign
Low enemy variety with zero charisma compared to the orcs
Kinda clunky counter system (i guess this is debatable)
Normal mode being too easy, hard being frustrating because the companion ai is shit and the game is kinda made with coop in mind
Too short campaign

From what i saw in past trailers or what i heard these seems to be the biggest flaws for some people, of course not everyone share the same thoughts.

I thought it was revealed this person left the studio long before the games completion and may not have had that large an impact... but I could definitely be wrong. Either way I thought the game was fantastic, hats off to whoever was involved.

They left the studio last year. I doubt you can retool the entire story in that timeframe.

I agree that the orks where better foes, the tyranids don't have near as much charisma as the green retards.
Counter system for me was kinda clunky until I got used to it. Once it clicks I'd say it's pretty fun plus the animations are awesome.

For me, the biggest issue is the game being balanced for co-op. Nice way of fucking up the single-player experience.

As a positive, I'd say the chaos enemies are much more fun to fight against than in the first game.

The steam forums are worse. People are crying due to lack of 'LGBT' representation.
for fucks sake, why do people not get this?

steam has a point shop you can use to buy things to customise your profile, now you earn points by buying games but you can also earn points by having someone "reward" you with a steam award which other people have to buy using points, and you get the points that they spent. So one of the steam awards is a CLOWN award, which means you can essentially farm points from fucking MORONS who need this fucking explained to them, which is why every steam forum now has bad takes, because they are literally farming a steam currency from fucking morons by doing it, for example.

j2IEZPa.png

this is top tier farming, and you will find it on EVERY popular game forum, people calling you an idiot or stupid and making a bad take, because this benefits them to farm the awards, and it fucking works every time. Stop doing it, stop being a moron.

And being surrounded by people who wouldn't put up with their bullshit helps too. When in Rome.

Steam really needs to fix the way they do that. Fucking moronic you can get rewarded for trolling.

I feel like the parry is super clunky against those whip wielding tyranids, but otherwise it works okayish.

Mattdaddy

Yeah the parrying can be tough to get the cadence down since battles become so freaking hectic. Its sometimes hard to get the visual cues on when to do it or not start panic parrying when youre getting moshed by a swarm.

Once you kinda get the feel for it though its pretty awesome, and its critical for setting up gunstrikes and restoring armor/teeing up executions to win at higher difficulties.

What i heard is that other than being a bit clunky, sometimes just the fact that you are constantly attacked by small trash mobs can fuck up with timing etc.

I fucking hate the fact that 90% of the campaign still has a lot of trash mobs in every damn fight, for me it is the biggest flaws, i prefer to fight less mindless, less numerous, more charismatic enemies.

not really, just focus on one that's actually attacking instead of spamming it and you'll obliterate everything in front of you with a single counter.

Nothing clunky about the counter system. Hard (Veteran) is not too hard. Didn't tried the hardest difficult. Too short, indeed.

I’m only like 3 missions in but find the killing not very satisfying. It just feels boring
Is there any sort of weapon level uo system or progression system or unlocks?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
What are you running the game on? I did the intro w/ performance and some range tyranids were hard to make out and I'm considering switching.

I'm playing the game on Performance but swap to Quality for taking the pics.

On a VRR display, Performance is perfectly fine. I tried a bit with Quality but the 30 here doesn't gel well with the fast fire fights.

I have VRR too but was having problems with some distant enemies. Maybe I just need to get used to it. It does look good in motion though.

Yes. Specially if you also enjoy violence, blood, absolute carnage and kino dialogue with bangers like "I'll purge those heretics in the name of the Emperor" or "words as hollow as your fallen brothers".

Game's like a 7'5 kinda game, but fuck me if it isn't fun.

Anyone else finding the second difficulty level in PvE missions kinda crazy? I'm at level 10 and I've actually managed completed an "Average" level mission maybe 2 timed out of a dozen attempts, rest have ended in failure. This is with randos though.
I'm thinking of going back to Minimal, currently I'm not unlocking cosmetics and getting less XP than on Minimal.
I have no idea how I'm supposed to be able to get those purple level weapon schematics to upgrade my gear, you get those on second hardest difficulty lol
Maybe people just get better at the game over time?

Edit: Played one last game before bed and I was again highest level player. My teammates were lv 1 and lv 3.
Most likely that doesn't help the case either. Had the same problem in Helldivers 2 with super low level players joining higher difficulties. Most of them didn't even understand the mission objectives.

How are you guys feeling about the game after a couple days being out? I'm thinking of buying that tonight with Astro Bot. Both seem to be games people are loving at the moment.

For a moment near the end I thought we were going to fight the necrons. Would have loved a few more story hours with those to fight against.

Just beat the game and had a ton of fun with it. It's not the best of the best, but it sure is a ton of fun specially if you like bombastic action and tons of blood and violence. Game can be a looker too, with pretty nice graphics and art design.

I would have liked it more if it wasn't balanced around co-op, but oh well, it is what it is.

I'd say it's a nice sequel to the first game, if you've played that one. Some improvements but also some fuck ups, but overall I'm happy with it. And if you haven't, play the first game too, it's pretty fun.

Unfortunately I dont think operations will keep my interest, these levels just take too long, I feel like Im starved for ammo half the time, and reward meager xp for the time invested.

The main campaign was awesome, pretty much exactly what I wanted. I just wish there was more of it lol. Its like a Gears of War, but replace the cover mechanic with a Doom style execution system to restore health/armor. Lots of really epic moments and over the top ridiculous action. Hyper macho, Hyper violent.

Then after the main campaign there are coop missions you can do that tie in to the main story, and you can try different classes which is awesome. Those are pretty fun as well but can definitely get tough.

The PVP is okay I guess, its not really my cup of tea. But the rest of the game I couldnt be happier with you.

I was really looking forward to this game but honestly unless you have two dedicated friends to play with I say its wait for significant sale.

Interesting perspectives, thanks. I ended up buying it digitally tonight.

Finished the campaign.

I'm guessing playing through the first game beforehand would have helped me in the last couple of chapters, cause they bring in characters that Titus is familiar with but I have no idea who they are, probably from the first game.

Ah well, the visceral action was enough to keep me entertained through. Per the Xbox app I've played around 11 hours of the game, which seems exactly in line with what the developers said (a 10 to 12 hour campaign).

8/10 with high praises for the incredible set pieces in the second half of the game.

I am grinding the tier 4 operations. Once you figure out the good build for your class it becomes way easier.

The shotguns are massively OP for instance.

Already 50h of gameplay, but I am still totally addicted. What a game!

I feel like there is something whack going on with pvp matchmaking.

lll bet 80% of the time Im on a team that just gets completely blown out. Im talking like a score of like 200 to 10 or something wild. Not even competitive.

I mean I played for few hours last night and probably only won 2 or 3 games the entire time, then got completely destroyed the rest of the time.

And the team scores would be like my entire team would have 3 kills and 10 deaths for everyone. Their entire team would have like 10 kills 1 death.

You could write it off as like you just happened to run into a team that was well organized or a group party or something, but this wasnt a one-off this was the vast majority of the time.

Its like the game has SBMM but its operating in reverse or something lol. All the trashbags are getting teamed up against all the pros.

Or Im just the worst player of all time and its a me problem lmao. But either way, its making it tough to get into the pvp.

Edit - Actually watching some youtube vids, there may actually be something off with the matchmaking. Lots of people saying high levels are getting grouped against low levels for some reason. And the lobbies arent auto-shuffling so if youre on a shit team its going to be a constant ride unless you leave yourself.

Do I want to do the inferno mission or hold off to do it with real people?

Running the campaign on second hardest difficulty and that satellite protection mission took me several tries.

Game fucks.
