What will be February's biggest flop?

I'll say RE Revelations 2. I have plans to buy it when it's cheap, but everything about that game either looks like TLoU or mediocre. I hope I'm wrong and it's the best RE in a long time. I'm just not seeing it.

I also hate that it's episodic and you have to pay for certain episodes. No thanks, i'll wait for the 'complete' edition to go on sale, if it's even any good.

Either way, i'm going with your vote. Certainly won't be Zelda, and MH4U is getting tons of praise, so certainly not failing critically.

I have a feeling it will be Revelations. Not feeling the buzz for that game

That said it's episodic so maybe their expectations are tempered.

I think Evolve will do OK, better than some people might expect

The Order 1886.

I'm pretty excited for The Order 1886 to be a great game.

Are there even any real options besides The Order, Kirby and Resident Evil? Maybe Total War Attila?

I can see them all doing modestly really. Not feeling the Order but nothing in Feb screaming outright stinker to me.

Edit: Forgot Evolve.

Revelations 2 is actually a fair call since people might be burned out from playing ReRemake so recently.

Also Evolve. Not feeling that at all.

Critically: RER2. Everything about it just screams mediocre. It takes a lot of elements from other games and blends them together. The only problem is that those other games did those things much better.

Sales: Evolve. I'm guessing that 2K wanted this game to sell at least a million, if not maybe multimillions, given that it's a brand new IP. It certainly looked like it could when it was shown off at E3, but the DLC nonsense and lack of content soured many. I think a lot of insiders said pre-orders were poor, and the game is falling on Amazon.

Evolve. I'd imagine it had a large marketing and development budget and I don't think it will come close to expectations.

I don't Kirby will do great but I think it will meet expectations.

Contrary to the popular opinion, I think the order 1866 will surpass expectations critically and commercially.

sales kirby

critically...revelations i guess.

DOA5 is gonna be decent sales and reviews i think

You're right. Based on hype and marketing dollars spent, this will be the biggest flop.

The Order has the potential to "flop" critically. Nowadays when a AAA game gets below an 8 it's somehow a flop. I can see the game scoring in the 7s and fanboys will be all over it calling it a flop.

Sales-wise, Kirby will take that L with pride (as would any Wii U game ever, except for the main Zelda/Kart/Smash). Critically-wise, I could almost bet The Order 1886.

I think Kirby will do relatively okay. Certainly as bomb, but compared to other WiiU titles, I think it'll sail past the 500k mark by the end of the day.

RE:Revelations 2 can be burned in the fire. For being on 5-6 consoles or whatever, it will be a colossal failure.

since RE:R2 is an episodic game, it can't really be the flop of the month.

now Evolve being Titanfall 2.0, that's certainly possible.

i dont think its very controversial to expect a shit storm about review scores surrounding The Order. usually when there is a graphically hyped exclusive game with... lets say tepid previews, i expect hammering on the review scores. I'd imagine mid to low 7's as an average at best

It depends how you define flop.

If you're talking about not meeting expectations, it is likely to be The Order: 1886.

If you're talking about sales, I'd say Seduce Me.

Critically - The Order. I feel like the stage is set for another crisis of DriveClub proportions.

Financially - Revelations 2. Capcom is probably feeling good about this one after the success of RE HD. Reality is about to crash into them.

Socially - Kirby. THERE'S A RAINBOW CURSE SEQUEL COMING OUT AND IT'S ALL CLAYMATION AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT AAAAAAAH

Before people say the Order, we already pretty much have enough data from insiders here to assume it won't flop unless something crazy happens. Preorder numbers are strong for the Order.

EDIT: As far as sales go.

Critically I guess it depends on what you consider a flop.

For The Order, I'd say 7.5-8 scores would be very good for a brand new IP from a dev who's never made a console game before, but some people may be expecting more from a game with such hype attached to it.

Sales wise: Evolve(not that high on Amazon.com at release, but it's dropping very fast), Dead or Alive 5:LR. Possibly Kirby too, but being a budget price + how budget release titles tend to go up nearer to the release makes me a bit less sure to judge its sales currently.

now Evolve being Titanfall 2.0, that's certainly possible.
For what 2K paid to get the rights, they would probably be happy with a debut on par with Titanfall. The big difference here is that the reviews have not backed up the level of E3 hype it received. Not sure gamers are as enthusiastic about it as Titanfall either. DLC fiasco seems to have left a lot of people indifferent.
