my NNID is Nibellum, just like my Twitter account - add and love me. I'll try to add some of you when I find the time later :)

BTW, this console?

Pretty solid so far, couple of dips in framerate, but certainly not unplayable, i picked it up because it was cheap and i never played the Harley DLC or did many challenges when i owned it on 360.

thanks. I might pick it up if I can find a copy for £35 or less. would prefer less, so might wait it out a few weeks to see if it drops in price as fast the xbox 360 / ps3 release did.

You need to activate the Friendslist first, no request possible.

Would be wonderful, but seeing that it can struggle to run modern pcs (well, i3 budget systems at least...) with a steady framerate I doubt it would be a nice port. From Software is not really known for optimization which this game would definitely need (as the other consoles struggle with keeping 20>fps as well).

Went to my local Tesco superstore last night to get some new work shoes. Checked out the Wii U section.

The Wii U section consisted of NSMBU, Zombi U and Fifa, priced at £42, £45 and £45 respectively, muddled in with the Wii chart.

That was it. No consoles. No other games. No POS. No accessories. And this is a store with two aisles dedicated to games.

Well done Tesco, you bunch of incompetent plebs.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I still don't have a survey on my AU Club Nintendo :/. My Club Nintendo account is linked in the eStore, and Mario, ZombiU, and Nintendo Land are all registered, but no survey to confirm and register my system.

Lame.

Wait. How do you register Zombi U? I don't see a pin# insert in the case...

It really doesn't make much sense lobbing all of Europe together like they have. Almost half of all messages I see on my warawara plaza are in languages I do not speak. At least in In Miiverse i can change it to 'Americas'.

Can't wait to play Kid Icarus on this thing (almost guaranteed IMHO). 3DS version was unplayable for me sadly.

On that subject, it only just hit me yesterday just how much the Wii U is essentially a giant 3DS. Not just in terms of the two screen dynamic, but the OS too.

I finally had a chance to play Nintendoland with some friends and it was a blast!
My favorite attractions are DK crash course for singleplayer and Luigi's mansion, Pikmin and Medtroid (versus) for multiplayer

Yup. I originally suggested it may be called WiiDS (can you imagine the epicness of that crossover appeal?) although it could be read as "weeds".

Silly question time.

On the home screen of the console, you can swap around the menu and your Mii from the gamepad... however the gamepad always controls what's on your pad, not the TV. Can't I use the menu on the TV? o_O

So the YouTube aoo is as bad as people said it was. My system is set to English. The manual for YT is in French. Well Done Google.

I ask this as well! Why can't I navigate WaraWara plaza when it's on the TVscreen??

It's bizarre the dedicated app can be so much worse than just the browser.

Though I mean the app's biggest problem is just loading times - makes bothering to figure it out a chore.

I feel like Miiverse works half the time whenever I try to post something while pausing a game. It just perpetually loads when I try to post something and I have to hit home button and go back to the game. I hope they fix that.

Getting slightly wound up with the UK pricing. Everywhere I've looked has NSMB for over £40. Fucking hell.

I might just get a £50 Eshop voucher from GAME and use it to buy it digitally. I have £12 points on my reward card, so it'll only cost me £38.

I could get the retail copy, but I think that's £49.99 anyway. So yeah.

Heh.

Well, the support for the proper YouTube site is absolutely brilliant. So its a non issue, really.

I've hidden the YouTube and health warning apps far away on the last page of my OS.

If you want, you can also delete the YouTube app in data management (you can re-download later on the eShop). Unfortunately, the same can't be done to the Health Warnings app - relegated to the last page by me as well ;)

you might as well. mario games never drop in price until the next iteration is out and even then the drop isn't as deep as expected.

for example. you can't buy new super mario bros for the ds for less than £15 and there's a sequel out as well as another super mario game in super mario 3d.

it's insane how they keep their value.

£38 is a good price for the game. I'm just glad I got it for £25. :D

Same with Sainsburys near me.

No consoles, Zombi U and NSMBU for £44.99 each.

No point of sale or advertising.

doesn't nintendo have to buy advertising space and stuff in the store? maybe they decided not to do it? or am I thinking of something entirely unrelated...

Finally got round to using the web browser. Streaming South Park to my tv and neogaf on the gamepad. brilliant browser!!

I wish we had websites we could stream things like that in the uk, just get not in your region when you click on sites like that. Ahh well, browser is indeed very good very impressed, also like it pops up if you have went in from playing a game so you can easy search for it.

I'm not sure. I know in some stores, mainly electrical stores or departments if you see say a Samsung 'Hub' with all their products on, they pay for that.

But there's not even a ticket which says anything remotely like 'there's a new home console out and it's called Wii U'. There is nothing there to stop a mum or dad unknowingly buying NSMBU and presuming it works on their Wii.

Nintendo probably have all sorts of point of sale stuff available. But it's poor on Sainsburys part.

By curiosity, I visited a large outlet here (FNAC), which is a popular place for shopping (books, CDs, DVDs, videogames, etc.), especially during holydays.

There was a huge pile of consoles (PS3 packs, 360, half a dozen different Wii packs) all mixed up, no Wii U inside.

Most (if not all) Wii U games were available, but in the Wii section. Not a single Wii U advertising, so I'm wondering how people will guess there's a new console and that half the game on display won't work with their Wii...

Many Wii U accessories (protections, Wiimote+Nunchuck+Sensor bar kits, Stands, etc.) but all lost in the Wii accessories shelves.

I have NEVER seen such a mess. That just plain stupid.

Sounds like Nintendo have learnt nothing from the 3DS. When that launched it was all just muddled in with DS stuff (it still is in some stores).

oh definitely. as supermarkets are now the biggest games retailers in the country, they need to be more aggressive with their console sections. both actively promoting new games and new consoles, not just advertising the latest call of duty or assassins creed.

if they don't, the uk market is going to a lot less stronger than it is now. we desperately need competition. hmv can't compete, they are struggling to stay afloat, the less said about game the better, that only leaves supermarkets and the very few indie stores that are available. cex is good, but not everyone wants to buy games used.

Best price I've seen thanks to the Amazon thread.

May have to bite since Mario is unlikely to go down in price anytime soon.

Only benefit I can see with the app is HD playback, unless I'm doing something wrong in the browser. But navigation and speed were rather terrible. The only reason I went to the manual because I was hoping there was an easy way to look at someone's channel. I'm guessing there isn't.

On a different subject, I was wondering... I've yet to experience a single freeze (fingers crossed).

- have european players also got freezes, or did they manage to include a fix in the first update?
- are US players still getting freezes now?
- is this problem limited to a small (?) percentage of users, maybe because of a hardware problem? I was under this impression by reading this topic, even if it's difficult to say because most of the time, people without problem won't say much about this...

I'm in the US and I haven't had a lock up yet. I'm waiting for one to happen since it seemed so wide spread. I've been watching YouTube, playing neo assault, and ng3.

*Touch wood* No freezes so far and this is with about 20hours of playtime since thursday.

I haven't had a single freeze on my UK console either. Fingers crossed they fixed what was causing them in time for the EU launch, and just haven't got round to patching the US consoles yet.

I have not had 1 lock up in 2 days with a pal console.

Have Nintendo just gone with the soft launch approach here. The marketing has been quite lowkey and they have not really pushed it at all.
