True, it's probably a bit unfair of me to jump to such conclusions. Especially in a year like this when there is no one true frontrunner as far as third-party launch titles go. Some folks will go with the Batman, others want to be Assassins.. some might want to kill aliens.

I'll reserve judgment for now; writing the game off so soon is, admittedly, a bit blithe.

One aprehnsion I have with Killer Freaks is how good it can look in final form. To be honest, what we've seen so far is drab. They seem be shooting for a realistic style and to pull that off with impressive visuals would require a large staff of designers, I'd think. I worry it may come across as a fun and experimental game, but looking like a low budget production. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm wondering about what flavor of shooter this is going to be. Survival shooter? Adventure? Run-and-gun? 'Cause I definitely have a preference.

The worst possible case would be that it's underwhelming yet ends up a million seller, but Ubisoft decides to restrict development of sequels and games for the non-casual audience anyway.

Luckily, they've never done anything like that before, right?

I'm hoping that Assassin's Creed 3 will be a good eye-opener for Ubi as far as the U is concerned, showing that there is indeed an audience for that type of game.

But then again, seeing third parties outright ignore or brush-off RE4 Wii sales still bugs me to this day. I don't trust 'em.
 
Before i went to bed there were 4 pages in this thread. I wake up and now theres 16. Boy are ye guys insane :D

And i need to be on the next revision of the hyprtrain btw. I made the "Top posters" list on the previous thread, so i qualify, do i? :D

The 26th (And of course 5th June) can't come soon enough! BTW. I have the whole E3 week off :D Its worth sacrificing the vacation days for E3 insanity!

All of E3 week? Hot damn, I am jealous! I'd have all of E3 week off, but I'm also asking for time off for a trip to Austin for the Symphony of the Goddesses, two weeks post-E3. It's a nine-hour drive each way - so that's a day of travel, but it'll be well worth it.

I'm also using vacation time for a big move; getting settled into a new place before all of this gaming stuff starts in earnest is a biiiig priority.

The Monday before E3, I'm going to be nigh-worthless. The weekend before might be a hibernation weekend, because sleep is going to be sparse once the festivities begin. :)

Next vacation after E3 -> Launch week :D (Or the week after launch week because Nintendo releases in Europa are always on a Friday!)

gameplay footage looked terrible to be quite honest.
mediocre gunplay. no hit feedback. no particularly interesting Alien mechanics (acid damage). set pieces looked pretty standard. painful voice acting.

Same here. No "real" vacation this year, other than the weekend trip to Austin. I'll take a day or two off for preorder camping, if necessary, but then I'll save the rest of my requested time for Launch Week.

Although I haven't figured out what I'll tell my co-workers about where I'm going for Launch. At my old job, it used to be my "vacation to Hyrule," and only one manager knew (since he "vacationed in Hyrule" also). But I'm not sure how in-the-know my new bosses are.

No sweat though. In the end, it ain't their business!

I'm laughing way too loudly for this time of night because of this. (Very interesting that there are so many KUA-NintendoGAFfers.)

And now I'm inspired to make Keeping Up Appearances Miis so that I can see all of the characters while I'm playing different games and jogging in the Wii Fit park. They can join the Golden Girls, Reggie, Shiggy, a few game show hosts, the cast of Arrested Development, and my family members, haha..

1. The confirmation that I can bring my VC games over to the Wii U, or

Cant wait for Pandoras Tower tomorrow. Dosen't seem toi be a blockbuster but a pretty decent and fun experience. Thats all i need!

After that its replay time until its WiiU time :) SMG 1 is first on the list!

26th and 5 June hopefully will come fast then :)

I am guessing it will be "Download this channel, launch it, it will put all your VC games on this SD card, put it in your Wii U, launch a similar channel there, the license for all these games have transferred from that Wii to this Wii U."

Of my replay list for this year, I only have two games left on the Wii: Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. I skipped all Luigi content for those games during my first playthrough, and it's bugging the completionist within me very badly. So my summer will be a Galaxy summer.

I ordered Xenoblade with classic controller, but will keep it sealed for a rainy day. When we hit a lull in the next generation, I'll have this fantastic title waiting for me.

And after some thought, I've decided to spend any remaining time after Galaxy farting around with Morrowind and Oblivion. Being so close to Launch at that point, I'm going to be very distracted by the goings-on here, so who knows how far I'll get with these games. eh.

I still have enough Wii games to tackle And the 3DS sits here aswell. Uprising will be continued and Mario Tennis Open comes next Month... Insanely close to E3 even 8-O

Had a little chat with my friend who is working for a big game publisher. Sadly he asked me not to publish concrete info, so I have to be a little unspecific. As for release date in Europe: close to what has been rumored lately. Price: lower than €350 but higher than €250 (make an average guess ;) ). Most rumored rumored titles confirmed but no other surprises :(

Would make a ton of sense. If they put the functionality into an App, where you can store multiple settings and devices, it should work great.

Isn't the Wiimote in Japan also used as a TV remote?

If Nintendo are allowing us to (and to be honest it would be silly and downright annoying of them not to), I speculate two possible options:

1) (more likely) Nintendo let you do a transfer to a Wii U account either all or select games. Ones you pick can only be used by the new account and are deleted from and cannot be downloaded on the original Wii system anymore. Possibly allowing games from different source Wii's, but not duplicates of the same game.
2) (more generous and unlikely) same as 1) except you can still download titles to the original Wii and/or the system links the Wii to your new account somehow and let's them share purchases (or at least past Wii purchases). Only 1 Wii can be linked.

I'll be very annoyed if Nintendo don't even let us transfer purchases to the Wii U, and I'm typically rather forgiving. I'm pretty much expecting some capability, especially since I believe that the 3DS can do something similar.

Yeah, me and someone else here (BlackNMild?) were talking about this a while ago. The Wii U controller would make a perfect universal remote, with the screen and built-in sensor bar and all. Hopefully they'll make a TV guide channel for it - and make it available outside of Japan.

I will never buy a WiiU if I can't transfer my VC purchases.
I might borrow one to play select games, but that is it.

That kind of practice (along with terrible localization practices) really make me lose confidence in investing in the platform.

Have not bought VC games or wiiware games in ages, yet I impuse buy games on Steam like crazy.

There should honestly be a single Nintendo account. VC, 3DSware, Wiiware, Wiiuware should all be tied to it. whatever restrictions they implement (one hardware installation per software owned only, etc. ) I dont care. Consumers are expecting these kinds of services nowadays. Transferring contacts from email clients and cell phones, itunes, sharing apps between devices, etc.
