Thanks.
Honestly I wouldn't have been surprised if that ridiculous crunch killed the development team on release, but it turned out okay.
Reading it again, I would be with you if he really only said crunch time is "killing" the team. But thats becuase I know, having worked on games, how beast can be the last months of crunch time. Nearly every game passes this dreaded phase.
The thing is, he literally says, they been treating the team badly since day 1, and PR (what PR? CDPR always uses the game devs to communicate, so this is batalantly false), has been lying from the start about trying to accomplish a game that didn't exist.
Then the game released and everything that they promised was in the game, and then some.
So he basically was telling a story from his ass.
Nothing he said was really wrong, though, and the game likely was a complete mess at the time. Remember that his ultimate message was wait for reviews, especially on console. It's not like those fears were unfounded considering the PS4 Witcher 3 threads we've had.
He is not talking about the quality of the PS4 port though, he says that the game DEVS (not PR as he says) had been showing, was a lie and didnt exist. Crunch time is horrible, I can assure you that, but most of the times is going to happen. Then they delivered everything they showed. Same world, same characters, same gameplay that was being showed from the start. The graphics were downgraded a bit, but becuase they had to, but everything else was improved.
And they probably delayed the game for this crunch times be more manageble for everyone in the team, not becuase the game was a complete mess that didnt exist. You dont accomplish what they did with some more months of work if the game was as bad as he said.
