World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I don't know about
II
but
XII
isn't at all.

Any reasons why
XII
isn't there? I'm also guessing
Tactics isn't there.
I mean
we got FFCC: Echoes of Time and even fucking Dirge of Cerberus, but no Ivalice characters are represented at all.
.

I want to smack whoever the fuck came up with the grid "minigame" in Chapter 21. Especially with there being something tied behind doing it in under 20 turns which I can't seem to be able to do; I can't beat it without taking a single hit, but after a couple of attempts I must have been just barely not making it in under 20 turns (I wasn't counting). 100% dead stopped me in my tracks from playing anymore right now.

It's entirely luck based. The 20 turn limit includes the enemy turns so you only have 4 turns to move/miss. Enemies need to spawn within a tile for you to even have a chance. Going over or getting hit means a restart. I finally got it done a few days ago and it was the absolute worst.

For those who don't know, there's a unique memento (
Maduin
) locked behind it.

Sounds like a good party to me. The Sharks in this game are bad ass, though I've only gotten the first two Transfigs of that Mirage so far. The last one is XL, right?

Unfortunately I've had to take a hiatus due to a chronic health problem flaring up. I want to play more, darn it.

Correct.

And yeah, the sharks are actually pretty damn strong. Specifically they have lots of Critical+s, Enhanced Criticals and an ability that when they Crit they get a Strength Buff. Pairing up a Tiny Shark with a Big Shark leaves you dealing out massive crits that get stronger the longer a fight goes. Or just match up a shark with a Cactuar or Tonberry.

Which is better: the shortcut or full menu for the battle menu? I can't seem to grasp the shortcut menu.

Same here. It's unwieldy and unintuitive, and I switched to the Classic menu early on and never looked back. Not to mention the fact that there are inexplicably some things you can only do with the Classic menu, such as use items. Not sure what the point of the shortcut menu even is if it isn't intuitive and also doesn't give you full control over your characters.

But yeah, I pretty much switched to the Classic menu a few battles into the game and I haven't regretted it once.

What's worse is when you realize it's 20 turns total, which means you only get 10.

Edit: Beaten. Didn't read later posts. lol After this myself. Hot Trash.

Just skip it?
Gotta get that
Maduin
Memento

I just went back to the Twin's Room for the first time since the start of the game. Spent a lot of time reading the who is who and it was great. Loved how they summed up the characters with a few words (
nice banadana, bro! on Snow for example
) The intervene quests are hilarious (just did the one with
Snow, Celes
and
Gilgamesh
), and I just really enjoy the game. Did not expect the game to be this funny. The main characters are a bit annoying at times, but I'm starting to like them aswell. I don't even mind all the honks and 'the's anymore either. This game is so ridiculous and silly, but it doesn't try to be anything else either so it works so well for me.

Goddamn the
Big Bridge
really lives up to it's name. I'll be glad to finish it soon.

Cactuar has been on ny head ever since I caught him, and shall never leave

I just wish this game had a soft reset like all the others on PS2/3. L1+L2+R1+R2+Select+Start would take you back to main menu. That would be great for grinding this damn memento, and would be faster than closing the app every time.

Press Start -> Return to main menu. Doesn't work in battle though.

I'm interested in this, but the combat in the demo feels so slow and uneventful. I figured the unstacking would add variety, but that just gives you the same result? How much does the pace and variety of combat change in the proper game?

Edit: ok, noticed that unlike all FF menus, the highest battle speed isn't 1. So I set it to 5 and it's definitely snappier but still find myself staring at the turn icons longer than I'd expect to. The other funny thing about this game is that in big form, the guys look exactly like Hot Shots Golf characters in the victory dance, like they'd look perfectly normal with golf clubs in their hands, ha.

I know what you mean, I didn't love the demo, but am having a blast with the game. I go back and forth on whether the gameplay is quick enough, and while it's still there, I genuinely find it to be an infrequent issue in game. (I play the game on 5+ speed and active mode.) You get more mirages and jewels that increase your agility, so your turn order (seemingly?) comes up more often. You're often facing more enemies, and sometimes it can turn into a bit of a clusterfuck to juggle - those are the times I wished I had it on a slower setting. I've embarrassingly fucked up a few battles because I wasn't quick enough selecting an ability. The game is a lot easier in wait mode!

I just noticed that the Twins' Room has only one bed.

I mean, I know they're twins and all, but...

Someone said this on Gamefaqs the other week, and this is all I can think of any time I visit the room. whyyyyy

I'm assuming he sleeps on the couch like in the intro.

God, I hope so! Poor Lann, kid's going to have back problems.

Wow...I know I said battle speed 5 and active was the way to go, but damn is it alot more challenging than I thought it would be! Not give up challenging, but edge of seat challenging, even in the first few boss battles.

Then I got zapped into a intervene battle and didnt know you had to equip champ medals first lol.

Doesnt help that these are final fantasy monsters, and I want to level up and use all of them.

EDIT: I seriously hate youtube thumbnail spoilers.

Well I've played a couple hours of it and I'm pleasantly surprised. I mean it's super cheesy, like I expected, but it's full of charm. Still don't care for the whole "the" thing, but I think I'll get over it.

Some things I like so far:
- I thought I would hate the chibi, but the cuteness is winning. I can't fight it anymore.
- Town npc's are all voiced. Nice touch.
- Cactuar Conductor is amazing.
- Serafie's voice was... unexpected, but I love it. I wish she would take Tama's place. lol
- Random black and white mage couple walking together and giggling on the train! <3
-
Princess Sarah saying dude
:P

The moment (spoiler for first hour cutscene)
she said "I'm god." hooked me, cause I love convoluted bullshit.

Also... I think I may have screwed myself. Saw baby Shiva in an area and needed Blizzard to capture, so I changed my mons. Spent the next hour bullshitting with a friend of mine while walking in circles in the same area looking, and got tons of levels... but no Shiva. I think I might be a bit overpowered, now. D:

Yeah I was not expecting her to say that. lol

Wait, are you saying if you over-level certain monsters won't appear? That would be unfortunate.

The demo turned me off of buying the game even though I saw a bit of potential, but the fanservice whore in me is having a hard time ignoring this so I caved and bought it. Hoping I wont regret it as I wait here for it to arrive.

Seems some other people turned off by the demo are enjoying it though.

Apologies if this was mentioned before.

Three items now available in the Downloadable contents.

How do I download them? I'm in that menu and it only lets me read the info on them; don't see them in the PS Store either.

edit: Nevermind, they just went "You unlocked it" when I hit Continue on the main menu. Didn't expect that.

The demo tossed you right in with no clue wtf is happening the main game explains everything and helps you get used to things.

I'm really enjoying this game still, I just started Chapter 16 and wow the feels are amazing :) However, up to now it has been a cake walk. Trying to keep my mirages diverse in case any strategy requires it but auto attack has been getting the job done most of the time unless I'm exploiting weaknesses with magic to move things along quicker. It's never as apparent as in, for example, fighting flans in FFX where you have to use magic because the physical defense is so high.

Loving the game again.

Thanks for the help, I was silly for not getting my guys at the Prisma Case, so I faced a huge dificulty spike, because of myself.

The game is very cool and adorable.
