Japanese voices being tied to day one edition is some real bullshit.
I'm picking up my copy later today but how do I know if it's day one or not?
Oh okay, that's good. Places here were promoting the DLC and Japanese voices as preorder bonuses and those are no longer listed on the product listings of the websites so it's a bit worrying. It's plastered all over the box 'day one edition'
How do I use the "flutter" ability though? Or ride the mirages when I get those? Think I missed some stuff in the camp sealed by walls because I couldn't use the flutter to talk to the guards. You think the game would tell me how to use something I have access to...but nope.

The PSN store has the day one edition up though. I guess I will see soon.
Edit: Apparently only the Vita physical edition got a day one version here in Australia - even people who preordered the PS4 version are saying they aren't getting the DLC codes. Mess.
Honestly considering just refunding my order and passing on this.
Edit 2: Ended up asking for a refund on my order and buying it from a U.K. online store which had Day One PS4 copies. I'm not in a huge rush to play it and would rather get the bonus DLC and Japanese voices.
Well that's annoying, gonna go and check myself then.Whoever is telling you that is wrong. I'm in Sydney and just walked into JB Hi Fi and picked up the day one edition. Just double checked and can confirm the dlc code is in there.
Ha whaddya know. Went into JB and all the had on shelves was the limited edition so I just grabbed that instead.
Can someone please explain what Sync % means/does -- I cannot find an explanation in the game for it...

Let's do this
I thought I was going find it grating, but the humor is great and so on-point for me. At the beginning when they see themselves in their chibi-style and start laughing their asses off at how ridiculous they look, it was damn near fourth-wall breaking; it made fun of itself which helped me roll with it.
This is overflowing with soul and charm, it's crazy. The fast-forward function tied to R1 is a godsend. It feels like they knew everything that people could possibly complain about, whether it be from the chibi style to the slow-paced battles, and wrote/executed it in such a way that makes it so much easier to go along with.
Just received my copy and, as I feared, it's not the day one edition. Hopefully the English voices are at least tolerable.
Was is PS4 ? Maybe SE screwed up i also didnt get Day One edition even though i pre ordered and got it 2 days early :/
English voices are fine. I would go so far as to say they are some of the best voice overs for a game in this genre in a loooooooong time.
This is WAY more charming and polished than I expected from the demo. Japanese VO is fantastic as well.
I'm playing in English as well and it's great.I legitimately get confused when people say the English voice acting is bad. This some of the best jRPG voice acting we've gotten in a LONG time. Maybe it's the direction people don't like with it resembling more a kid's cartoon as opposed to...I dunno.
This is a little random, but at the pace I'm playing it's probably going to be ages before I see for myself, so I was just curious.
Does the game manage to avoid saying anything gross about Tifa? As in, does it avoid how Crisis Core, Dissidia, FFXIV and even Thetrhythm make off-handed remarks about her figure?
Sure, little one-off jokes here and there aren't necessarily mean-spirited, but it would be a little weird if they did that in this game considering the chibi aesthetics.
They generally just talk about how strong and fond of punching she is.

Fine. I've found it to be occasionally grainy and filled with jaggies so far, though, so if you want it to be crisp go for PS4.So how's the PS Vita version?
Yeah they don't mention anything about her figure.
She's pretty awesome in this and I found one of her sidequests to be hilarious.
I really like the localization in general here. The voice acting is a part of that, but the amount of natural in-jokes, 4th wall jokes, laughing at itself, etc makes for a really fun experience. It's almost refreshing that it doesn't feel like I'm playing a robotic translation of a Japanese experience for once.
That's some nice sequel bait

It's happening. It's finally happening again...
I'm thinking of this game while I'm at work.
Has anyone caught a floating eye in the nether nebula? I ran into one and can't seem to find another one again!!! >.<
