They didn't want to Show MS and Horizon, and MS is the one with more prominent next gen features. Horizon will almost certainly be cross gen.
One of my "bold" predictions was that next year we'd see Forza Horizon (not bold), and that it would be hyped up as the first ever Dolby Vision game (Kinda bold)

Yeah, I’m surprised by that, if true. A 2018 open world game having a sequel before a 2017 linear one, is strange. Especially when these developers have been so punctual over two decades. Maybe Turn 10 is really getting underneath the hood (har har) and redoing the engine to provide a foundation for years to come.
Either way, I would be so excited for more Horizon. 4 is brilliant.

If I remember correctly the engine is going through a complete overhaul not only for FMS but to help it work with other types of games as well. Fable.
Yeah, I think you will probably see some basic RT reflection and maybe GI on Horizon and then Motorsport will go 'crazy' with the reflection.

Horizon will likely have 3 installments across the gen, and this one would almost certainly be the final cross-gen title. Motorsport is a one and done thing and, let's be honest, it's got to be next gen exclusive.
I was a bit surprised too, but Jeff sounds extremely confident in this and he's quite reliable with Xbox news. Still surprising, either way.

There were other rumors about one other game planed for launch pushed to 2021. One of Forza games makes most sense and from what we saw of Motorsport there is no way they targeted this year.

I hope it's not true. I mean, Horizon still feels like a fresh release thanks to all the support it's still getting, 2021 for a new Horizon entrance would be way too early IMO, whereas FM already had a year break, it feels liek FM7 was released so long ago, it needs to be released 2021, that's one of MS' flagship franchise after all.

Four years, though. Granted, I only got my Xbox One X this year, so it is definitely a new release to me, hahaha, but that’s a pretty long time.
If Turn 10 is indeed hard at work at making the foundation of both games, plus possibly more, for years to come, an FH sequel that, cross-gen or not, can take more advantage of the Series X, feels like an awesome thing to keep us busy until we’re absolutely blown away by the new engine and the next Forza Motorsport.
Plus, making one development team, that doesn’t primarily create the engine, stall out (I am really not trying to make car puns) while waiting for the other, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
I kind of give this rumor credence, thinking about it.

I’d rather they (MS) got a team to do a new PGR or another non open world arcade racer. Don’t care for Motorsport and Four Horizons already, a bit of a break perhaps? When the next one inevitably arrives Japan would be a cool setting.

I'm not 100% behind Grubb here, but it'd make sense if FM was pushed back to 2022.
Edit: Turn10 working on Halo is just a rumor apparently, but would explain why FM is only early development

Fallout 3 refuses to work in QR, but I'm willing to forgive that since it no longer has any of the ridiculously long load times it use to have for just about anything you wanted to do. Want to walk into a bldg? Instantaneous. Want to fast travel - maybe 1 second. Its amazing.
I was incredibly impressed by the much shorter load times for Oblivion and FO:NV, but this is on a whole other level on the Series X.

I would welcome another Horizon but i'm JUST NOW getting into FH4 as i took a break from racing games for a while... though if they could find a way to shake up the series a bit like adding a bunch of motorcycles, dirt bikes, dune buggies, etc i think that could be fun. And then there's always been the ask for a japanese setting with tons of drifting. I guess maybe we will see at the game awards maybe?

That sounds great! I always told myself i'd get back into Fallout 3... i played over 80 hours but only about 10 hours of the actual storyline. Just constantly roaming around the Wasteland and sometimes accidentally ending up in some of the DLC areas. I think last thing i did was work my way through one of the major DLC sections but was over encumbered by the end and frustrated by having to go back to camp unload and go back for the good gear laying around so i never did. That was FOREVER ago.

So, it took a while, but XSX is mine now.
Didn't really have the time to test everything, but I already love it: QR is cool, the loading amazing, response time is noticeably better than on X1X. I was playing Titan Quest before I got the console and it was a bit of a mess. 30 fps locked felt like a slide show, but unlocked framerate obviously never got to 60 fps. Now it is smooth as butter, Auto-HDR makes it so much more vibrant and it simply looks sharper, more detailed.

Auto HDR is some games is terrible, i want to say I'm surprised but I'm not that we don't have the option to enable it on a game by game basis.
Battlefield 4 auto HDR is too much (i had to uninstall it BF4 the resolution is too blurry) same with quantum break certain thing are just too bright.
But with QB is the first time i played it for more than 15 minutes since launch its actually a decent game would be so much better if the movement was a lot faster, people who have played Control and QB what's the difference between the two?

Control is kind of like a Metroidvania. It is one big level and you gradually unlock doors and shortcuts. QB has levels. Both are fun.

I just tried an old-school arcade racer Horizon Chase Turbo. Auto-HDR on daylight races looked off, but nighttime stuff looked great. I think they will improve algorithms over time and it will becomes better.

So crazy I was playing origins of few hours ago and I've put off completing the game because I enjoy it so much, so I check the store for the season pass it's still £30 I check cdkeys it's 13.99 I'm like I must be able to get this cheaper in a sale, then boom 11.99 and if I get from the Hungarian store it's even cheaper. Yeah. I think Grubb is wrong. There is already a trailer for Forza Motorsport and there has been plenty of talk about how it looks running behind closed doors. Barring any major covid related delays it is absolutely a 2021 release. Horizon is 2022 at the earliest.

The Elder Scrolls Oblivion and The Witcher 2 are both under $5 and both got One X enhanced, so will run at 4k on Series X (1440p on Series S) but now have 16x AF and auto-HDR.
There's no reason not to have them already but, if you don't, now's the time.
