Hello Frenemies, heres a thread I never expected to be in again!

Big time Playstation player but this gen also ordered an Xbox Series X as haven't been too keen on the business decisions Sony has made the last 2 years (games have always been amazing to me though). The lack of enhanced game patches and UK price increase pushed me to get both consoles this time out. Got 3 years of gold and upgraded for £1 to ultimate. One console will be my exclusives console and the other my main.

So what have I missed out on this gen? Gears and Halo collections will be played first! 😁

Have you played Xbox 360 games?

From this gen, on top of Gears/Halo, you should play Sunset Overdrive, Ori 1 and 2, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 4, Quantum Break, Sea of Thieves and Ryse: Son of Rome

I have I went 360>PS4>PS4 Pro.

I'm looking forward to several retro games I've already played Alan Wake, Dead Space 1, Deadly Premonition. And some I haven't Dead Space 2-3, Silent Hill Homecoming-Downpour and Batman Origins.

Quantum Break is a big one for me as I love story games. Gamepass has a few I've wanted to try as well Afterparty, Blair Witch, Outer Worlds.

The Medium looks great, can't wait for that one.

See there was never any reason for us to go at each other about Bethesda Softworks games coming to PS5, because now you are assured you will have them all day1 on Game Pass at no extra charge. make yourself at home in our little clubhouse here, Xbot.

Well that's the one thing we were both 100% sure on that every Bethesda game would be day 1 on Gamepass. 😂 With the deal I got it really is amazing value.

Having both let's me vote with my wallet more while still having the benefits of console (over going PC). I love the design of the Xbox series X and of course got myself an extra controller.

Quantum Break is the 1st one I was going to recommend. It's one of my favorite and if you liked HZD on PS4 hopefully you'll like QB. The games are really different from each other but somehow remind me of each other.

Obviously Halo" MCC and Gears 1-5 and both Ori games. Ori WotW is to die for. I hate 2d platformers, but Ori is one of my favorite games this gen. Just an fyi I thought Blair Witch sucked, not up to usual Bloober standards but The Observer and Layers of Fear were great.

If you like RPGs Bards Tale 4 and Wasteland 2 & 3 (forget about WL 1 remastered it's like playing an original NES game badly done). There's so many I can't think of them all. You will have games to play for ages now.

I've got launch day off work, and launch week for the PS5 so will get some quality gaming done. I'm really curious to try out the X enhanced 360 games. I've just got to see Red Dead in 4k! 😁

I haven't actually played any Bloober team games so I look forward to playing them all. I think this is going to be the opposite of a normal console launch... so much to play!

I wonder what The Initiative is making as well.

Do you like racing games? The entire Forza Horizon series is worth playing through and Forza 7 is a really good console sim racer. I think Horizon 4 and Forza 7 are both on Gamepass. Horizon 1-3 are delisted, but you can find them in used game stores if you'd like to play them. Horizon 3 was the best one, but Horizon 4 is still having new content added to it monthly. Horizon 4 in particular will be receiving a Series X upgrade to run like the PC version at 4K/60fps/max settings.

Gears Tactics is actually a pretty good RTS game if you're interested in that. The Halo Wars games are also better than I expected them to be.

Give the Ori games a shot. Blind Forest was a wonderful game and Will of the Wisps is a master piece.

I actually really had fun with Crackdown 3 despite the game being rated as low as it was. It's on Gamepass.

If you don't hate every other human being on the planet and want to give an online-only game a shot, Sea of Thieves has evolved into a really fun game. It's worth it just to look at the water.

Sorry for the late reply.. apparently I can't upgrade to Gamepass ultimate from my gold because something is in a different region. Not sure what because my billing address is UK, the Golds EU and the store UK. So will have to get in touch with the customer services monday. Probably be easier just through the console but obviously won't have that till next month.

I do like fun racers, I haven't tried any serious ones for a while. Anything on Gamepass I'll give it a whirl and see how I get on. Still watch out for Blue Shells yeah? 😉

Did you redeem the bonus free months with gold?

The deal only extends to 36 months so if you redeemed the bonus months and got 37 or more you won't be able to convert it until you are under 36 months.

I am particularly new to the xbox family, went ps3, ps4 then one x so getting through my backlog.

I would definitely suggest ori wotw, especially once it get updated for 120 fps support, it's a masterpiece.I like Dontnod games so enjoyed Tell me why (LIS > TMW > LIS2). Also missed out on nier on ps4 so definitely play that on xbox if you haven't yet.

If you haven’t played it already, give Oxenfree a go before Afterparty, boss game with a Stephen King mixed with John Carpenter vibe.

Hi. Luckily I was aware of that and didn't redeem the free months 😊.

I think it maybe some default location the app had that may have caused the confusion. Before I had any codes imputed in it had "(Argentina)" next to my email address... that is in no way associated with Argentina lol. My billing address is UK.

Only other thing I can think of is Gold UK is still classed as EU and Gamepass Ultimate for some reason UK isnt classed as EU. I mean were out of the European Union but still located in Europe lol.

Worst comes to worse I'll find out what location it thinks I'm based in and use a VPN. That's a last resort after speaking to customer services tomorrow 😊.

Yup i have three of the R615 TCL TV's from 2018 and now i'm going to have to buy three more TCL TV's once they put out a model with 4k HDMI 2.1 120Hz etc as long as the reviews are good... went with four Series X consoles for the house to replace current Xboxes and will also have to get one or two PS5 consoles to replace the PS4's that are in the house. Who says console gaming isn't expensive like PC gaming?? haha
