Xbox Sales Are Super Dead

It's been dead/slowly dying for a couple of years. The last year or so has been extremely brutal for Xbox sales which is why I don't think we'll be getting a traditional console from MS next gen.

The console is totally dead outside North America and maybe UK.

Microsofts acquisition of Activision Blizzard in order to win the console war market was a mistake.

Instead of spending 75 billion on Activision Blizzard, they should have spent 75 billion on buying their own Xbox systems.
That way, they could have easily become the #1 in the console market, outselling their whole competition.

So now, the narrative has shifted towards the cmos battery because of pro.

Bro, since the first xbox, we never got revisions, the 360 were different cause of the rrod, the one got the x for beefier specs, the series, spec wise, is complete.

If you talk about games, let me tell you something, internet numbers regardless of how accurate they are, they still based on perceptions of each individual person, but the reality is much more than that, it takes a lot of personal effort to validate others opinions about contents, you just can't bypass them with validation and never give yourself time to check each individual game separately.

This is really funny for me. I know quite a lot of people that wanted that console experience but didn't want to spend too much so they opted for the Series S. I have more friends with that console than a ps5, but do mind that they are pc gamers and the game pass is what got them for if they feel lazy and want to couch game

I hope they dusted it off before selling it.
The only thing you can definitely say about it is that it's dead on arrival.

Huge shame that Microsoft sent all its media forces to shit on the PS5 Pro instead of just trying to promote its own new variants? Super odd behavior all around.

I'm more surprised that people still go to big box retailers to buy things. I just have Jeff Bezos send it all to my house.
Which is probably a big piece of this. If they really had significant inventory from mid 2023 they would not be releasing a new version. The other piece of this is probably lazy stocking of these units. If they sell a couple each week maybe they put the new ones in the front.

They needed to have something to answer the PS5 Pro at the upper pricing echelons. They can't have Sony taking the $600~700 arena for itself.

Stock situation alone isn't how you decide to launch a new SKU.

Things can get stolen off your doorstep + some still love the feeling of walking out with your new gaming thing.

I suppose. But expensive things that I'm worried about having stolen I just have sent to the post office or an Amazon pickup locker at the convenience store down the road. It's not that hard to keep people from stealing packages.
