Of course there is a point. It has to be day one going forward. Fuck these timed exclusives, there's no point.
Someone explain Xbox's strategy to me, because it doesn't make any sense. A 3rd party publisher needs to work on porting a game to the Xbox, which are costs for the publisher. But Xbox gamers aren't buying games, because Gamepass, which means these 3rd party publishers wouldn't see any money from the port. The only solution: Xbox pays these publishers to port the game, so that the Xbox gamers can get it on Gamepass. But the Gamepass user base hasn't grown in years, which means their revenue is also not growing. What's the endgame here?
Game Pass might not grow so much, but Microsoft still cashes in billions a year through it. They want the game on Game Pass, Square Enix wants money. Win-win.Someone explain Xbox's strategy to me, because it doesn't make any sense. A 3rd party publisher needs to work on porting a game to the Xbox, which are costs for the publisher. But the drawback is that MS has to approach Square and negotiate per game before devs even consider making Xbox versions, and this might expand to other devs/publishers as the gap of the install bases increase. The developers are getting a hefty sum to give up their game to Gamepass. They ain't doing it for free, probably for a fixed fee that they are comfortable with and Microsoft thinking itll do more in sales later on for them.
OMG wanted to buy it on PS5 now i have to think again if Performance is better
As if you guys are gonna buy it lol.
Yeah, shockingly bad.
Avengers... disassemble. No it isn't. I won't let you rats have it
There is no end game Square-Enix doesn't believe in the Xbox platform so they rather get paid extra by Sony for "timed exclusivity" and get paid extra a 2nd time by Xbox to port the game to their system.Someone explain Xbox's strategy to me, because it doesn't make any sense. You are aware that in addition to $$$ and marketing, Sony also helped to develop the game?It has to be day one going forward. Fuck these timed exclusives, there's no point.
Mid is an overstatement. What a mess of a game. You guys can have it. Game was mid as hell. Enjoy it.
You have to pick your battles, and this one they can have. As much as I'm a fan of the series in general. No it isn't. I won't let you rats have it
If it does get released on Xbox than i hope Xbox gamers buy the game and not just 'play it on gamepass or wait for it to be on gamepass'. If Xbox games want more Square Enix games and more Japanese games on the console then again open your wallets and buy the games.
And that should tell you everything about how shitty the sales are on xbox for these games.I'm still surprised they haven't ported FF7 Remake. The exclusivity deal ended years ago.
Eh, it's a chicken and egg thing. It's hard to say what went first, people not buying them or Square releasing them later, but it is what it is.Square Enix: keeps releasing their games on Xbox years later that on PS, at full price, when the game is available on PS for half the price or less.
The ponyz: "LOL as if anyone is going to buy the game on Xbox anyway!"
They failed to cultivate an audience on Xbox when the brand was strong. People not caring at this point is just cause and effect.
But screw logic. So many gleeful "FF16 flops hard on Xbox" will be made, so many laughing reactions will be given. Another day, another battle in the console war.
Hoping its straight to Gamepass![]()
No shit, the timed exclusivity period was always going to end.
I'll tell you what this is really about, these dudes aren't taking the current news about Xbox releasing their firsty party stuff on playstation well, so are flailing around and trying to divert attention. He did it last week aswell.

From what we know, yes. Now whether square chooses to port stuff to other platforms once the exclusivity ends is a different thing, they've always been quite random with where they port stuff.Wasn't it known that this and others FF games were a timed exclusive from the start?
Square Enix finally making smart decisions.
