[XboxEra] Final Fantasy XVI will be coming to Xbox Series X

Only when PlayStation does them, amirite? 🙄

Also Nick is the fakest insider I've ever seen in my life. The "source" for Visions of Mana on Xbox were Square-Enix themselves, in their December 7th press release for the game that literally mentioned Xbox Series alongside the other platforms.

But the fake "source" probably assumed most gamers can't read, so they ran with pretending they had secret insider info...that was on a publicly-available webpage...before the game was even shown off at the VGAs.

That's true gaming right there.

And if they shell out that Game Pass money Day 1? What then?

Just one less exclusive for PlayStation platforms, and likely one less reason to buy a PS5 Pro if you know the game's on PC since you can always get better performance there (if you're willing to pay for it). Apparently that makes gaming more "pro-consumer" or something, the gawkers tell me.

Use the PS base as early paypigs, give it to Xbox players for "free" with improved performance and extra content.

I mean Sony have already set this into motion themselves with PC getting HFW & Burning Shores with more perf options over console & a cheaper price for both. Only makes sense 3P would follow suit.

No you don't get it. Sony Bad, okay? They're the big bad, evil megaconglomerate destroying gaming with anti-consumer exclusivity of 5% of Japanese games in existence even though the other 95% release on other platforms usually Day 1. But Sony are still completely evil and corrupt for those 5% they have exclusive. Total monopoly of the industry there.

It won't be fair until every 3P game and every 1P game is on all platforms so more people can play on Xbox and Nintendo which are still allowed to have tons of 1P and 3P exclusives because this is payback for PS1 & PS2.

And SEGAAAAA!!!

Seriously, why do you care so much, you don't work for Sony and you don't see a dime of their profits. This just reads like the rants of a 12 year old.

Because I want what's best for a brand I've known since I was a kid? 3P exclusivity suddenly became a boogeyman during the ABK trail but it was all for political theatrics and little more. Truth is exclusivity is a good thing, even 3P exclusives. They create perceived value in those items which are exclusive, making them more desirable subconsciously by many people. Which also means people will appreciate them more often than not, on average, compared to things which are not exclusive as those are perceived to have less value and worth.

It's just a part of the human psyche, nothing "anti-consumer" about it. And guilt-tripping people into thinking it is so they can push an impossible pro-consumer talking point won't make it any more true in actuality. Anyway I don't see any issue in wanting SIE to double down on the IP and games that helped define PlayStation as a gaming brand and made it a brand I've come to have a lot of appreciation for, just like how I didn't necessarily have an issue with MS doing the same with Bethesda. Because even if modern Bethesda are mainly multiplat, their origins were with Windows & DOS, and they already did console exclusives for MS with Morrowind.

Somehow though that became acceptable, but wanting Sony to do similar didn't, simply because it didn't involve an acquisition. Even if ironically, not doing an M&A would be the more "pro-consumer" move for the market at large in a sense.

None of this matters Xbox have Palworld.

Squares new ceo said they won't be doing exclusives in the same way in the future but I'll believe that when I see it.

Yeah, I guess we'll see what happens after Rebirth launches. It could go either way and the ambiguity is more a symptom of Sony not caring to tie things down beyond FF VII and some new mainline FF games when it comes to SE, combined with them being very quiet on what's to come 1P-wise beyond the first half of 2024.

Outside of maybe Concord (a live-service/GaaS title) and whatever was leaked in the Insomniac ransomware hack.
