Yu Suzuki and Mark Cerny talk Shenmue III strategy?!

While I don't expect this to be true, in the. very remote chance that it is, they need to release an HD remaster of the first two. I can't remember what happens at all, and few people will jump in on the 3rd of a trilogy.

I know Im being trolled but fuck it, I can dream. The possibilities for this game if its on PS4 are endless, holy crap. The first thing I thought of was a new virtual arcade filled with Model 3 games. HNNNNNNNNG.

Once again...

People change as they age. Games don't. Your expectations change and your memory can betray you, but that's not the game's fault.

The voice acting and translation were laughable shit in the original games. It didn't stop people from loving the games back then or now.

And there's no way we're getting a re-recording of all the dialogue in the game or a re-translation. For fuck's sake, they won't even throw the games up for purchase on a DD service.

Unless they have the uncompressed dialogue laying around somewhere, they will have to re-record the dialogue. The voice audio quality is horrible even by 1999 standards. It was understandable back in the day since the GDROM only held 1GB or so, but an HD remaster is going to get laughed off the stage featuring muffled 8-bit 11khz voices.

Did the piano player die? Re: first comment in video.

Edit:

... :/

Reading about Reuben Kee while listening to the music: ;____;

My god, this guy was a saint.

Read and weep gaf. Why did he have to die in such an unfortunate accident? Didn't even get to see Shenmue 3.

Shenmue 3 will happen. Fuck the corporal suits, who cares if it won't sell 5 million plus.

Do it for the fans Sony, let us hear the conclusion of the epic known as Shenmue.

damn, the nostalgia is so bad.... I'll have to play the game for the NN° time now.... and hope for some good Shenmue related piece of news behind the smile of Suzuki in that photo

Oh god... instead of unique NPCs, every non-protagonist character in the game will be someone else playing. Just imagine the sense of immersion as you pass by a quaint flower shop and see an elderly Chinese man inside spinning around in place!

I was thinking more about players leaving behind clues, interacting with other player's game worlds without interfering with the actual experience. It would have to be very subtle in order to work

Don't understand why they just don't use the original engine and develop it like that, Shenmue fan's aren't going to gave a shit if they don't update the graphics.

That's all well and good. Problem is there weren't enough Shenmue fans in the first place!

this forum would likely self-destruct with news of a Sony funded Shenmue 1 & 2 HD and Shenmue 3, PS4 exclusive, lol

I'd laugh & cry myself to sleep.

People calling Shenmue a system seller - that's funny!
This is the type of stuff I'd buy a console for. I am all out of fucks to give about multiplayer focused military shooters and most of the other drek that'll surely be touted as system sellers by the game media.

I'm in the minority, sure, but on the real? I, for one, will buy a PS4 if this is announced. 100%.

I'd pay several hundred dollars for Shenmue III, meaning buying whatever console it was on, etc. Seriously. Day 1.

Man what did they do to Ryo's face. :S

Shenmue isn't a system seller indeed, it could be if given the right adversing though.

Developers are already in love with the PS4.. but can the same be said about publishers? I'm hoping so.. maybe Mark Cerny can convince Sega or some other publisher to seriously start considering starting development on this as well as an HD release of Shenmue I and II.

Well, Ryo ha already been remodelled for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

on that note i really want shenmue dlc for sonic and sega racing transformed

like a track where you drive through yokosuka and the docks and and ryo playable.

Shenmue, a system seller? LOL

This isn't happening anyway but who am I to stamp out people's dreams?

Maybe you just had to have been there man. But damn I've replayed those games so many times.

It depends, Shenmue had widespread acceptance from DC users back when it was released. Shenmue sold over 1 million copies (1.7, was it?), 10.6 million DCs were sold during it's lifetime. That's a pretty impressive ratio. The sequel didn't fare so well, but there's a bunch of reasons for that too. None of them have to do with the quality of the game or no interest from users either.

When or how people came up with this notion that Shenmue doesn't generate interest or is a niche title is beyond me. Yakuza is far more niche than Shenmue ever was.

Not in Japan tough. And I think Yakuza is far more marketable than Shenmue. Shenmue is a 80's Hong Kong flick, while Yakuza is modern day with all the stuff that is appealing to todays audience (violence, sex, crime story...)

However if Kenzan is possible, than Shenmue is totally.
