See if you can spot any meaningful differences.[/QUOTE]

I knew it was just a placebo effect.

More accurately, this is a overclocked 780 with an overclocked 4770k. It's barely above 60 fps on average, and dips to 20-30 when loading stuff.
I'd say the average is more like high 60s, but it does dip on streams and those are rather high computer specs. They're about in line with the creative director said, though, so no surprise.

Youtube videos without fraps are completely useless.

This is what he stated on reddit.

Without recording.

I have an i5 3570k @ 4.4 or 4.5Ghz (cant remember without looking).

Framerate is 60FPS Average, drops 50 regularly and 45 now and again. This is on the settings shown.

there's a way to force triple buffering and vsync on 64 bit exe ? Radeon pro doesn't work....:(

In the first area, when happen the black out and he is in the bar with many people, i get 27 fps on a i7 860 oc 3.7 ghz.... on ultra detail...:(

Ive been playing the game all afternoon on my pc, (4670k @4.2ghz GTX 780) with everything maxed out and textures on ultra the game stuttered badly especially while driving, I had to turn the textures down to high, and now the game is running smoothly with frame rates ranging from 40-60fps with vsync and triple buffering enabled, and everything maxed out except for textures.

Two more screens I took, in daytime with everything on Ultra @ 2560x1600.

Taken at SLIGHTLY different times, hence the difference in brightness in the sky.

Well I just assume cause they said they were lol. But just going by the pics above it doesn't look like it does anything anyway...

Yeah the guy on reddit said, but he also said they're not his shots. Someone posted them from here on the site he linked in his post, so I think he just assumed they were using this setting.

Seems like an honest mistake

Damn the screenshots thread is gonna get some usage in a few days.

That water looks fucking phenomenal.

If the OT is to be believed, this game is using at least 5gb vram on cards that have it. What resolution are you playing at?

To everyone having a problem with triple-buffering and vsync in this game, the problem should be solved (as it was with AC IV) with a program called D3DOverrider. It's a bit difficult to find as it isn't bundled separately and instead comes only with certain older versions of Rivatuner, but it solves the issue.

Edit: Sorry, it just occurred to me D3DOverrider might have incompatibility issues with 64-bit programs, but it's worth a shot if someone hasn't already.

Likely because they game is an absolute turd when it comes to vram. 3gb+. Unless you have a 290x or Titan you are screwed

Can anyone confirm variations (of any kind) between nighttime and daytime?

Anyway, if this is barely above 60 FPS when just looking down a road, you can expect it to perform much worse if you are in the middle of an actual mission with lots of stuff going on.

The only thing that is confirmed at this point is that this is an engine that performs really badly. We still have to see how playable it is on worse hardware with lower settings (the hope is that it scales well and so turning off some insane settings could make the performance more acceptable).

i have it but works with 64 bit executable ?

Wow the PC version looks amazing. Shame I'm getting the ps4 version.

Comparing these pictures to PS4 screenshots, I honestly don't see the difference. It's obvious to me though that the game all around was downgraded from its initial showing and not just the console versions.

BUT

Still don't care, I'm super pumped about this game to care about its resolution.

Not sure if I believe that youtube clip posted. There's a few more around now that seem to suggest the performance is fine.

Running on a 670

It's important to note that some people are playing leaked physical copies of the game, and others are playing pirated copies, dodgily cracked.

Appearently there's mouse acceleration on by default and there's no in-game setting for it, kill it with fire.

If anyone can verify then put that in the OP.

Hello there! I'm a lucky guy who got his pc version early and as soon as I got into the game, I noticed that there is mouse accelaration on by default and that there is no way to turn it off ingame. So I fiddled around a little bit and found out how to disable it. If you, like me, aren't a fan of mouse accelaration, this might come in handy so I thought I'd share it:

1. Exit the game.
2. Go to C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Watch_Dogs\<some odd number>
3. There should be a file named "GamerProfile.xml". Open it in a text editor of your choice.
4. Look for the following settings and change their values respectively:
5. Set "Sensitivity=" to 1.
6. Set "UseMouseSmooth=" to 0.
7. Set "Smoothness=" to 0.
8. Save and Close the file. Your ingame cursor should now move without accelaration

I have HUGE lag spikes while driving around the city, doesn't matter if the settings are at low or Ultra. I don't understand.

I have an Intel i7, 8GM DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 7970M.

This is disappointing. I think I'm going to cry. :(

People should check their processes to make sure nothing else new other than Watch Dogs is running while they play the game. Often there are surprises in early releases.

Pretty sure AMD performance for single cars is bonked and nvidia performance for SLi is bonked. Everyone with AMD GPUs is having issues, a few people with 7970s/280s were getting worse fps on high then 680s on ultra

Especially for TPB. One of the youtube videos said one of the leaked torrents had another program running that killed fps.

nothing i tried D3D overrider, doesn't work, and radeon pro too. Damn! I can't believe we don't have tool to force triplebuffering and vsync on 64 bit executable!

And what is the best setting for max gpu buffered ?

God damnit, not again. I have troubles with Wildstar also. This is the last f*cking time I buy a AMD card. What a piece of shit.

That looks exactly the same. I think we can confirm that was a placebo effect! LOL
But those screenshots on the river were actually impressive! The water on this game is great.

i5 3570k @3.40Ghz
8Gb RAM
Sapphire HD 7950 Boost 3Gb
Windows 7 64 bit.

It's a nightmare. Let me explain:

Turning V-Sync on does the same thing as in AC IV where it basically locked the game at 30 fps unless you were looking at the wall. Without it it's like a roller coaster going from 30 to 60 and back down, if you are walking slowly is not that bad but driving is almost impossible. I mostly play on High becuase setting the game on Medium barely helped, you gain a few fps but the drops are still there.

I hope they fix it with a day one patch or some drivers by AMD. Ubilol at it's finest.

did you try D3Doverrider?(if you don't know what it is, google it, and use it. better than 90% of official v-sync's anyway) They will never fix that type of official V-sync. They simply don't care enough.

It's been awhile since nvidia has had an official driver update. I can only imagine one is imminent since they usually like to update for major game releases. AMD is probably a similar situation. At least for video performance, what people are seeing now probably isn't indicative of day one performance.

It figures....Im playing at 1080p game doesn't look as impressive during the day but at night especially when its raining it looks pretty nice.

Yep. Those one's in the OP are really nice, but they are just downsampled 4K shots. Resolution does make a hell of a difference. The water in this game is gorgeous.

I'm on my phone right now, so I can't really judge. How does the PS4 version compare? Are there any comparison gifs between Ultra and High (which iirc is what PS4 and XB1 look like)?

Reddit Poster VZW_Matt posted this video to show how bad the pre release is running atm. The quote is his system specs from the youtube video.

"i7 4770k OC'ed to 4.2GHz, 2 GTX 760s, and 16gb of RAM playing off of an SSD"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKfNUX5ima4

I really hope a day one patch will fix this, don't really wanna buy this game on XB1

Lol @ that FPS and texture pop-in

glad I don't support this cancerous company

The PC version only really looks amazing when its been downsampled from some really high resolution.

Peoples screenshots at 1080p still look kinda average even maxed out.

Last I knew D3DOverrider didn't function if you are using windows 8. Also I'm not sure if it will function normally with 64 bit applications.

They are doing something at least.

From the Wolfenstein thread, Andy is Nvidia.
Working on a Performance Guide for a specific game launching next week maybe? ;)

Among other things, yes.

Doesn't work with 64-bit applications, afaik.
