...review copies?
Pretty sure retail copies already work on Uplay too.

Everything but the water looks like shit. Maybe I'd have to see it in motion.
Stutters on my rig. Mainly notice it when driving and especially when hes talking on the phone. Not sure if its frame skipping or frame drops.
2600K at 4.5Ghz , 8gb ram and a Titan.
Regardless of whether I disable DOF, Motion Blur , set textures to medium and rest on high from Ultra, makes no odds.
Throws the VRAM theory out the window, ive 6GBs of the stuff and it dont help.
PS4 version next week it is.
How are people posting screenshots of the PC version its not out yet...
I want to turn off HUD.
Does anyone know which setting to alter in the GamerProfile file?
think you have to do them one by one, minimap, hints, recticle, waypoint etc

I should be able to play it at good settings unless CPU bottlenecks my video card. I suffer from this in ARMA 3/ DayZ heavily. What do you think?
They missed their goal. As much as that sucks it doesn't make what we've got "awful" in any reality I'm familiar with. Apart from the performance issues, which I understand if people are pissed about, where are all the better looking open world games out there that make this one look "awful" and a "shitshow" by comparison? It's hyperbole to the nth degree. It's almost as bad as the constant "looks like a PS2 game" comments on the console side.
Can anyone confirm whether it will run at 21:9 Aspect Ratio? (2560x1080)

Got him to send me a picture from the settings. Native 21:9 support is included.
Why the hell don't they just provide an in-game option to turn off each or all HUD elements like they did for the Ass Creeds?
helps the immersion, pretend you're hacking the xml file

They can't even provide an option for turning off mouse acceleration so we can't expect too much.

God dammit, my GamerProfile reverts to default now when I start up the game so my efforts to turn off HUD are in vain.
Anyone know how to prevent it resetting?
Anyone playing on a non-overclocked i5? I want to know how this performs on mainstream chips.

I suffer from CPU bottlenecks in DayZ as well. I have the same CPU and RAM as you besides the 780M. What kind of frames and settings are you running it on? I ask this because I'm running with a 755m (A big drop from the 780) but I can run games at decent resolutions, It's disappointing to hear that this game suffers from CPU performance issues.
I'm running an i5 2500, 12GB and Radeon 7970. My settings -
1080P
Detail - Ultra
Shadows - High
Reflections - Ultra
Ambient Occlusion - MHBAO
Motion Blur - On
Depth of Field - On
Water - Ultra
Shader - High
With vsync turned off I get a steady 45-60fps, typically hovering around 50fps usually. However, I can't stand screen tearing, so I have vsync set to on (1 frame) and it's mostly locked at 30fps. I say mostly because Fraps is telling me it's jumping up to about 45fps again, but for the vast majority of the time, locked at 30.
Who plays these games with KB/M? I could understand wanting to play FPS that way (I do) but for 3rd person action games, controllers are a must.
Yeah, I would go PS4.Would I be better off getting this on PS4 instead of my aging gaming PC?
I have:
AMD x4 965 @ 3.8 ghz
AMD 7850 2 GB
6 RB RAM
Will the graphics/performance be better on PS4?
No, the i5 today is not the fucking same as a P4D was back then!
The reason the P4D died off was due to it's much lower IPC than Core2 based CPUs, it was close to half the speed clock for clock, that meant that the C2D could be scaled up performance wise much easier than them (a P4D would need some really insane clockspeeds to match something like a 3Ghz C2D).
If anything, the i5s are todays C2Ds.
They are much faster vs the CPUs in the new consoles than the high clocked P4Ds and low clocked C2D were vs Xenon and Cell.
Hell, some people forget that both the Xenon and Cell had over 3x the number of cores (or logical cores/threads) than the dual cores that people had no problem gaming on for a large amount of last gen!
No, not even remotely close. The i5 is still viable if you OC it but the Pentium D sucked ass the moment it was released. Plus it runs at like 90C.
I have been trying to warn people in the PC thread, for at least 2 years, to get 3GB or more VRAM video cards. It was hard to explained that the games were designed / limited to 2GB of VRAM and not because the X GPU wasn't powerful enough to use more ram. I always get the counter argument "look at zero difference in fps between 2GB vs 4GB." When the nextgen was announced with 8GB, I knew games designed for 2GB> was near. Lets just say, I am glad I bought SLI Titans at launched. Guess, I didn't waste money waiting for the 780.
I coulda sworn Toms and Anand did articles about PC hardware myths such as VRAM. It was concluded 2GB was enough for 1080p with good post-processing.
To me, the bigger problem is that many gamers still hold on to 4GB main RAM for dear life. For all the complaints about console generation holding PC gamers back, we need to convince the home turf that an extra RAM stick isn't going to kill them.
Do you have any overclock on your cpu or is it stock speed?
I have hope now that I will be able to get the same results as our pc's are almost identical.
...
Any word on SLI?
When you try different v sync options is it not possible to get synced gameplay without 30fps lock? And have you tried getting locked 60fps no matter what? I am asking since I have the same PC, but I need 60fps to be able to enjoy it. Thanks.I'm running an i5 2500, 12GB and Radeon 7970. My settings -

Is your i5 overclocked or stock? I have the 2500K, 770 2GB, and 8GB DDR3 1600. I should probably be able to get similar performance to what you are getting except you have more VRAM than I do on the 7970. I'm thinking next month I'll be going with a Z97 mobo and probably get a 4770K, then wait till the 800 series video cards come out to upgrade my card. I was tempted several times to get a 780, but I want to wait it out a bit.
I also have a PS4 and I keep going back and forth between the two, but I'd rather be running this at 1080p vs. 900p. Then add certain effects are toned down on the PS4.

My i5 is definitely not overclocked, it's a non K variant with a motherboard that has absolutely no options for overclocking. If you're thinking of selling your 2500K and motherboard after your upgrade, let me know! I have a pc here that definitely needs some upgrading.
Setting vsync to 2 drops the fps down to 20, which is definitely not an option. I don't mind 30, so I'm okay with that, but if you're willing to deal with some screen tearing and your pc is similar to mine, you should be hitting 60 or close to.
The game is CPU bound, as expected. A big open world game like this is unlikely to run at 60 fps for anyone yet people will still say it's unoptimized trash. Lock it to 30 and be happy.
One game doesn't indicate a trend in VRAM requirements.
Lots of sites did. I still stand by what we said in the I need a new PC thread. More VRAM will be required at some stage, but then and even now 2GB is still enough. The next gen of cards will probably bring a VRAM bump up with the midrange moving to 3GB.
I heard 337.81 beta drivers enable SLI.
