E3 2015 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3

Also, I think I'd prefer if they just made a collection of multiplayer games for 3DS, including this and the Zelda game. It doesn't feel right to pay full price for these, no matter how fun they may look.

You have no idea how much content they have. The Zelda game might as well be a full title similiar to ALBW. You just don't know.

You made that quite clear in a number of posts, but the amount of bitching about it isn't going to change anything. Especially since we don't know how long these games are going to be.

Problem is, this game is already getting flack, and if it doesn't sell then why would Nintendo make another Metroid game afterward?

In my opinion the strong negative opinions about this game show how much people want a real Metroid and Nintendo can see that.

Even if you ignore the Metroid name this looks bland as fuck. You factor in the name, and you wonder why the hell is this supposedly part of the same series.

Even Hunters felt 10x more traditional.

Okay, this game looks a lot better than it did in the initial reveal. I mean should we be surprised at this point.

Also, this is the kind of banter you get in a real setting with real friends. Except no F-bombs or beer.

Okay that may be true, but sales dictates any new games. Nintendo isn't going to go on Neogaf and go, "HMMM I GUESS THIS DIDN'T SELL BECAUSE DA PEEPS WANT SAMUS IN DA GAME!" The only thing that will help a new singleplayer Metroid's cause is sales of this game.

Well shit. This actually looks fun.

But calling it Metroid Prime is such an odd choice. Metroid is a series that ONLY has longtime, die-hard fans.
It seems like attaching the Metroid name would deter more people from buying than it would attract on-the-fence gamers.

While the Direct was presentationally a disaster whichever way you look at it, the reality is that the 3DS, Nintendo's main platform, actually had a bunch of fun looking games announced for it today.

The only thing the sales of this game will help is a sequel in the same style.

The more I think about it, won't the control scheme be quite similar to GC Prime, with only one main analogue stick to move?

Do we know if Alpha Dream is making Paper Jam? They've never made a proper 3D game before, right? If so, having them make a Paper Mario crossover is a good way to ease them into it, since a lot of the 3D would be pretty simplistic.

Paper Jam is interesting. I haven't really got into the Mario & Luigi series, but I adore the Paper Mario series. I'm really curious to see more about this; It should be fun.

Yep.. AlphaDream is the dev, confirmed from the title screen

Treehouse Live doing work and selling me on all of these games

I went from zero interest in Happy Home Designers/Metroid to "yeah, I'll probably buy these day 1".

Though I think the AC board game will be too irredeemable for even the charm of Eric to break through.

Sigh, it really is just a Mario and Luigi game with Paper characters slapped in. This would have been cool if we recently had a good Paper Mario game.
