E3 2015 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3

Speaking about games stuck in some drawer at NCL - Star Fox 2 would be an AMAZING VC-release in the vein of Earthbound Zero. That game was completed in 95 and dont need translation to be played. Nintendo needs to jump on projects like that to keep the goodwill of the 20k hardcore fanboys they have left.

Think the SuperFX chip licensing stuff is keeping that from happening

I like all the footage we've seen (well, for the most part), but the repeat footage for a lot of games is kind of a damper. I'm hoping we see Fatal Frame, I don't think we've seen anything playable for that

They confirmed you can turn-off gyro yesterday.

Oh hell yeah.

Did they really licence it? I was always under the impression that they owned it themself - but it was problems with emulating it that left Star Fox/Stunt Race FX out of VC.

That StarFox gameplay looked nice albeit a little slow. It's been a while sine I played StarWing so maybe I'm remembering it wrong in it being faster

On Starfox:
I would imagine platinum having tiered challenge stages like kid Icarus uprising.
Or at the least a new game plus with more enemies/etc.

Also these demos might be scaled back for demo purposes. Hard to say really.

So for the walker stages I wish there was kinda right stick camera control like Splatoon. I don't know why they coldn't map loops and u-turns with d-pad like SF643D, or rolls to the bumperbuttons.

The core of the gameplay looks great so far for Star Fox, I just hate that they are pushing this out this year instead of letting it cook a bit more and become the defacto star fox experience that it should be.

But it's obvious Nintendo is pushing all of its major efforts to the NX and mobile gaming now. I wouldn't be surprised to even find out that Nintendo developers had basically been moved on from Star Fox now and it's up to the platinum talent recruited to finish it up.

Why are people reacting so negatively towards the developer interview parts?

I thought they were very neat to see how the concepts came to life, like the Inari Shrine stuff (although well-read Nintendo fans such as myself of course knew that previously), the creation of Yarn Yoshi, and how they used to draw out the Mario stages.

While I agree with this general disagreement, Yoshi material was honestly just too long given how much we already know of the game.

I liked that part of it too. People were disappointed that the only new stuff shown for the Wii U was the Animal Crossing Board game and Mario Tennis though. People expected at least 1 big announcement.

They could have spent on some titles and and showed off things like Devil's Third and Fatal Frame also. The Wii U portion was extremely weak. Even the SMTxFE snippet should have shown more gameplay like the combat to help sell the game for example.

I wish the scrapped Mario Tennis and Animal Crossing Party and put their resources towards something more appealing on the Wii U. Wouldn;t have to be a big budget game but something that would excite people even if it was smaller in scale.

I don't know about the license issues, but the chip was developed by the now defunct Argonaut Games. It seems that Nintendo's involvement was more for the games which used it (and maybe making suggestions for specs).

That's not true.

At the beginning there were above 35-45k viewers, then the word spread and they were constantly above 50k with peaks like these. This year is not even half of that.

Oh well I stand corrected.

Not as much excitement after the game reveals seems to be the obvious factor. But the fact that it's still significantly outnumbering the other "hands on" streams that the other publishers are having seems to imply Treehouse still has a better pull and probably maintained some much deserved good-will as an experience.
