New Fantastic Four Trailer

I dont think anyone would hold this against the actors, the blame has always been and always will be on fox wasting time with a property they don't have a clue on how to do instead of just focusing on x- related properties. They should just let this lapse or try and get some money back on a sale....is Josh Trank even doing press for this film?

Does Fatman on Batman count?

So do I but I know in the back of my head it will be topped by DBZ at the BO, for the first week at least.
Resurrection F has a limited release, so I doubt it. That being said, I'm probably gonna go see it since the reviews coming out for it are pretty good. Here's hoping that F4 gets positive reviews as well, which will be what sways me either way to see the movie. This isn't because I want it to fail, but rather me being concerned for the film's quality on account of the fact that the embargo is ending so close to the film's release, even compared to Jurassic World.
And before anyone mentions the MCU, Marvel usually releases reviews a week in advance. And even then, it's kind of tradition for my little brother & I.

That being said, if everyone's as positive about F4 as that one CBM guy, maybe Fox will (as I said earlier) lift the embargo early to generate some hype for the movie.

Because the review is already bias from the start. At least give me the illusion you're coming from a neutral place.

At this point, it's so obnoxious that he could have simply been making an observation--it doesn't mean he's biased.

If I was Marvel I would refuse to have my logo in front of this.

I honestly just hope this bombs hard enough that Fox sells the rights back to marvel.

Man, just give this back to Marvel.

Yikes, the casting looks terrible on literally every single character, give it to marvel or fix the dialogue somehow...

Marvel really needs this back.

And that's just from a quick search in this thread. This shit happens in EVERY FF thread and it gets old.

Mods have already said not to shitpost but what else can you do

Regardless of how it does critically, I don't feel good about the financial success of this movie...but who knows?
I've said before that how well this film does financially depends on how well it's received. But since most of the reviews won't be out until near crunch time, it's really anyone's guess. While granted, information travels fast, the news may not travel fast enough since the reviews are out the day before the Thursday showings. This would be bad news for the film's opening weekend if the reviews are good but nobody heard about it until it was too late. I guess this is why Marvel likes to get their reviews out a week beforehand. But on the flip side, if the movie turns out bad, not as many people would have heard about. As such, the average joe would be more inclined to give the film the benefit of the doubt.

But nothing tops this overreaction.

Clark, clark... Seriously, your mother raised you better than that.[/QUOTE]

I love the guy's reaction when he sees it though. It's not big WTF or terror like you'd normally expect. He just looks at it dumbfounded like "huh...somethin's not quite right here"

Eh, you had one of my comments in there. I'm basing it off of intensely disliking the previous two FF films and Fox completely wasting Galactus and Doom. I'm not confident in what I'm seeing from this new FF trailer either, and what the fuck are they doing with Doom? It might surprise me but I have little faith they're giving this the support it deserves, and I'd really like to see the characters in the MCU because I think they'll get much better treatment.

Is that a bit better? I don't mean to shitpost. I'll remove myself from the discussions for now.

Yeah, that bit was weird. He should have let the guy punch him, and then act like the blow was weak, grab him by the wrist and put him down without actually throwing a single punch. Humiliate him because he's obviously a dick, but there's no need to wreck his livelihood.

Not really, it's either insured or a company vehicle. The trucker will be back on the road in a couple of days

Yeah this is the type of vitriol where crow threads actually make sense imo. If the movies good of course.

Movie could be trash. It doesn't excuse the pettiness of users who want this to fail so that it goes back to Marvel.

Just like a gazillion other movies , people already lined up some kind of opinion about the movie way before its released.

Well, some of it is always necessary... but did it have to be IHOPs and Sears?

And that government satellite at the end was just uncalled for.

You guys disgust me.

Let's let the guy who harasses women waitress just drive away in his truck to his job.

Eh, it might get old, but I can understand the negative sentiment. Fox continues to treat the FF property with disrespect, changing the story, details, and characters at a whim, when there is a plethora of comic material to draw from instead. This will be yet another movie with a subpar Dr. Doom, arguably one of the best and most interesting characters in all of Marvel. Hell Fox could do a whole movie focused on Doom and if it did the source material and character justice it would be fascinating and a hit. Fox just doesn't seem like they want to bother trying.

I don't hold much hope for this newest incarnation of FF either. Hopefully I'm surprisedly wrong.

... You know, I was going to respond with one of the thousands of comic panels of sexist, classic Superman harassing or shaming Lois, but I had way too much trouble trying to narrow it down.

So, consider this just my blind pick out of a barrel of hilarity.

Hopefully the new Fantastic Four movie doesn't have slap-happy Reed Richards either...

Not to make this a MOS thread but I liked that he destroyed the guy's truck and how that was depicted. The trucker groped a woman and acted like an asshole. MOS goes to great lengths to show that Clark had to repress that urge to strike back out of fear of accidentally killing someone. Showing him destroy that truck shows that he's human too.

Also the trucker probably got insurance out of it.

I don't remember him groping the waitress? I mean, that makes it a bit better, but he still would have been better just humiliating the guy in a 'fight' rather than wrecking his truck and its load, and then he has to stay at the diner for longer as he has no means to leave.

I'd love to see the insurance claim report on that truck :-P

The agent would write on his report "act of god."

If you watch it, the trucker did grab her ass. Also, you could justify Supes not trying to humiliate the guy because he didn't want to bring attention to himself. Say he humiliates the guy, one of his friends sees this and also starts something with him, Supes takes him out in half a second, then everyone starts talking about this giant super strong dude who works at the local shit hole...

It was also just better imagery for him to back off and then cut to the trucker seeing what happened to his truck. It really showed the inner rage Supes could have.

The truck impalement scene is just proof to me of how little thought the writers and director gave to the actual ramifications of all of the destruction they inserted into MoS. Because of the backlash, they've rightly chosen to make lemonade with all of the lemons and turn the Metropolis destruction-fest into a key plot point going forward into BvS, but smaller scenes like the truck impalement are left without the aid of being reframed with some productive purpose or meaning.

Congrats, we've got into MoS territory.

Don't ever say MoS is a forgettable movie cause it lives on forever in discussion

Still a very divisive movie it seems. I thought it was pretty good but it's not my favorite superhero flick. It's better than all of the other Superman films though.

Yeah, sort of like an STD.

Though that is off topic... unless the topic is speculation on whether Fantastic Four will be awesome, awful, or MOS-middle-ground.
