Holy Crap I just saw the latest TV commercial. This looks so fucking bad. The Thing CGI is horrible and Torch flying though the airplane debris was worse.

If you thought the time of misogynistic, racist interviews was over, it’s not. Rock 100.5 in Atlanta harassed Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara about how Sue and Johnny are related and didn’t even try to approach the topic respectfully. When Kate shuts one of them down about Sue being adopted, he then goes on to harass her about how he doesn’t like her haircut and about how “hot” she is. A producer comes in and cuts it off after about five minutes of this awkward interaction, but they should have done so a lot sooner than that. I knew the disgusting comments about the Storms would come up in the press tour eventually, but I didn’t expect anything on this level of awkward and for it to be allowed to go on for so long.

Glad someone stepped in. The response from the radio host on twitter was just as bad

“As for him complimenting her toes and why people are upset about that…sorry…no idea. Steve likes girl’s toes. People should be appreciative when they get complimented. Those that are upset on Twitter I guess don’t get enough of them. Who knows?”

The Amazing Spider-Man 2's early Twitter reactions are commonly used as a counter-argument towards the F4's few current tweets, but Green Lantern also saw positive reactions on Twitter before the actual reviews literally roasted the film on high heat. This is why I'm just gonna wait for the actual reviews & not take the tweets at face value. Again, I'm still hopeful that the movie could turn out good, but the early Twitter reactions shouldn't be taken as reference for the film's quality as proven by the mentioned films' early tweets.

Early word on all genre projects (especially superhero films) are like this. I remember the early word on Twitter about Captain America being particularly galling when the 'reviewers' described the film as having a 'timeless love story' at its core.

Shut. Up.

Hell it even goes the other way when some were describing Green Lantern as the worst summer movie ever made. Don't get wrong, it's by no means a good film, it is terrible, but it's hardly the very worst ever.

This is why I have a problem with early Twitter reactions. It needlessly gets people hyped (or the other way around) when the movie could be the polar opposite of what the tweets make the film out to be.

It's just a human psychological state of being of being the "first" at something so they spout off opinions with an extreme edge to get noticed. It'll either be the "best" or "worst" thing (with more swaying for it to be the "best") because of another mental state of being rewarded with something before others thus they give a more favorable review. Just like any time a game studio or product testing service asks for your opinion on something not yet released, the data is almost always positive even if the game or product sucks. The people feel like they're being given something and don't want to disrespect the people that gave it to them. This is something that most professional reviewers can distinguish and not get influenced by, which is why, like you said, it's better to wait for their reviews.

wait, is he wearing a flaming suit? why isn't his head ablaze?

Gotta show off who the stars are, and Fox is doing the right thing and showing off a black person as a headliner. Really surprised, but glad they're doing it, as it feels pretty significant. The children's movie Home was afraid to even show they had a black main character, with the black girl not getting even a McDonald's toy.

I keep forgetting how soon this comes out. This and Ricki and the Flash next week. I hope both are good. If I have the stomach for The Gift that is supposed to be very good as well. Three very very different films.

When Newsbeat asked Miles Teller, who plays Reed Richards, whether he was ready to prove the critics wrong, he replied: "We haven't seen the film either."

"Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he said. "This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent."
Yeesh. Talk about high hopes.

Par for the course. Didn't Mara say she didn't even read the script till the first day of shooting.
Everything with this movie has been off. I'm just surprised that the movie is so close to release and there hasn't been a premier. I had no idea it was supposed to be out by the end of the week.

I can't wait to see how this fares critically. It reminds me of the unpredictability around Ubisoft titles as we wait for the release date review embargo to expire.

Theres a weird disconnect around a lot of the early screenings being really positive and the weird production troubles and secrecy around the movie in general. Curious about the RT for sure.

Shame it seems like its gonna stink, a waste of one the best casts a superhero movie has seen. Not a good month for the Mara sisters.

It would be a huge surprise if this reviewed well. Fox is out here trying to make it seem like they had nothing to do with the movie and the cast is already talking about how they don't care about reviews.

Wow, those quotes do not sound great. Still, hoping for the best. It would suck to have another bad Fantastic Four.
Yeah, I was hoping that this would be good because I loved Chronicle and Michael B. Jordan is great but everything coming out of this has made it look like they're just making it so that Marvel won't get the rights back.

- Trouble on set
- 3D budget used on reshoots
- Bad trailers
- Bad looking CGI
- Cast haven't seen it
- Cast seem to not have faith
- Critics haven't seen it yet

Yeah, I smell trouble.
