When Newsbeat asked Miles Teller, who plays Reed Richards, whether he was ready to prove the critics wrong, he replied: "We haven't seen the film either."
"Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he said. "This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent."
Yeesh. Talk about high hopes.
Yeah, that's concerning.

Mad Max was getting very positive screenings a year before the movie was released.

I made a really bad comparison
2.0

I thought Feige said that the Namor rights were all over the place?
Maybe Aquaman might give it a boost, completely different characters I know, but if it generates enough interest in underwater stories maybe someone will push harder for Namor.

im calling it,

its going to be considered the greatest comic book movie of all time, a tour de france for the industry,

a wide consensus of it will consider it the best film of the year, and one of the top 5 action films of all time

While that would be nice, the fact that the cast isn't confident in this film & the embargo not lifting until the Wednesday before release isn't exactly reassuring. Again, I hope the movie pulls through, but recent events seem to indicate otherwise.

Don't premieres usually take place in LA? I usually keep track of the MCU films' premieres on account of Marvel actually streaming them on YouTube.
.

I love ATL but seems a weird place to have the main premiere. NYC and LA, London in a pinch usually get them.

It's like they're trying to do all the press and marketing for the film while keeping costs and attention as low as possible.

Edit: NYC and LA are usually the main premiere spots. London is used for European premieres. I can't remember which country is used for Asian premieres.

I knew I was forgetting something. But to be fair, Atlanta is starting to become a premiere place for filming.
Yeah Atlanta is blowing up. Music has always been here but more and more TV and movies are getting made here. We are the Vancouver of the south. Thanks tax credits.

Hell even video games development is gaining a foothold here.

The using the change they find in the couch cushions to fund marking.

Borys Kit over at hollywood reporter just said on twitter that up to 40 pages was reshot during reshoots. That's crazy.

Doesn't help that Marvel is refusing to make any F4 merchandise. I'd mention the comic cancellation, but that seems more like the F4 comics not selling much than screwing over Fox (though the movie may have played a role in the comic's cancellation).

1 page is roughly a minute of screentime.

So, figure 120 pages for a 2 hour movie.

Goddamn just looked at the run time and they say it is 100 minutes.

The most recent trailers have been portraying this as the most safe superhero film ever. It's a shame because all the actors involved are good, too.

What happens if (when?) this movie ends up tanking? It looks terrible. Is Fox planning to continue releasing half assed FF movies for the sole purpose of rights retention?

Either Fox moves forward with a new director & fast track the X-Men crossover or give Marvel the rights back.
