Didn't Sony make a deal with Marvel which let them keep the film rights while Marvel get the merchandising rights?

Sony sold their financial interest in any future merchandise generated/licensed from their Spider Man films to Disney to get themselves out of a hole one financial quarter.

Prediction; They'll go the Miller/Lord Spider-Man route and make an animated film. Though not bother getting a Miller/Lord tier director.

Lord/Miller are writing a treatment for the animated Spider Man film at Sony, nothing more.

So, /Film has been reporting that early buzz on the film is great? But around here and other sites it still seems to be getting dragged through the mud.

This looks like the face of someone who loved the movie they just saw!

In light of the recent impressions, I'm not opposed to this title. Also, FTFY.

Never trust Twitter reactions. As stated before, the people onTwitter were raving about TASM2 & Green Lantern.

Ah, such a shame. I was really hoping for this to pull through all the negativity like Ant-Man did (although this has had it way rougher), but I guess in this case, seems like it's deserved.

Did anyone actually listen to the OST?

Care very little for Marco Beltrami, but apparently Phillip Glass worked on it as well?

You can obviously tell which songs are Glass' & which are Beltrami's. It makes the soundtrack not flow together & sound mostly generic.

Shame about the soundtrack. I feel like that is the most forgotten aspect of these damn films lately, when it used to be such a strong point.

I'm going to call ahead and request my theater have cheddar antidepressants to sprinkle on my popcorn for the showing.

Slightly off-topic, but I wonder if The Gift will be a surprise box office hit this weekend. I don't expect Ricki to do super well, but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Anyway, is Say Yes a FNL reference? Because if so I think that might be a bit obscure for the thread title. Just my two cents.
