I'm highly cynical about this game. Furthermore, Fable has never had a mature tone and the recent trailers don't suggest it either. They're either in the process of pivoting or Jez can't articulate his words very well.

Fable 2 was the only one I put serious time into. What made it good was all the crazy shit you could do.

I ate every pie I could find until I got morbidly obese. I had a different baby daddy in every town, and they would tell me how disgusting and fat I was getting. So I would beat them and fart on them.

I feel like this is going to be too "made for modern audiences" to do half the stuff from Fable 2. I really hope it has a creator and lots of player freedom.

I tried to play fable 2 for the first time like a couple of months ago but i bailed out when i realized that the game was stupidly easy and it was almost impossible to die.

Fable 1 remain the best to me.

Is comparing a game to Witcher 3 a backhanded way to say the combat is weird and floaty? Fable always had serviceable, chunky combat. Very different in texture and feel to Witcher combat.

We'll just have to wait and see. It's been announced for 2025. This bit from Jez if you listen to it says he saw footage that looked like a very complete Alpha. I got the sense he doesn't really know. And he said he doesn't know when the footage is from. So yeah, we'll just have to wait and see.

The charm of old Fable was in the legacy of Bullfrog/Lionhead british humor. I suspect this game will flub that completely.
