Here is the intro to the Cleveland losses as written by the Associated Press:

CLEVELAND -- Carmelo Anthony left with a sore elbow and a bruised ego.

His second game with the New York Knicks was embarrassing.
NEW YORK -- Baron Davis picked up right where LeBron James left off.

It doesn't matter who suits up for the Cleveland Cavaliers -- even the players with names the Knicks don't know. They simply don't lose to New York.

If Mike D'Antoni gets let go is there really any team out there that would go with him as their head coach knowing that he gives 0 shits about defense?
Several. I know I'd take him in a second.

Sure, many.

He might be a horrible D coach (or not bother about it at all), but he is a great O coach. And he can take under talented teams and get more wins than they should get somewhat relevant to their fan base for it. The game is more pleasant to watch, and whilst you still know you're not going anywhere, you can actually watch the game and think that they have some structure.

It snow balls, your team goes from bottom of the confrence to sneaking into the play offs, you could pick up a couple decent pieces, and it all flows from there.

Of course, he'll then get fired once talent arrives and they don't deliver in the play offs, but at least the team is back there.

I'm telling you guys, the knicks just need a good player at the center position. A'mare naturally position is not as a center so his defense goes down when you have him boxing out bigs like Howard or in today's case Bogut.

They got what they need for offense but they can't play to there potential without a really good defense and for that everyone should be playing in there natural positons. :shrug

Do Knicks fans believe me about Carmelo yet? Denver is immediately better without him and he's done nothing to better New York. It is almost exactly what I said would happen. Wait no, not almost, it IS exactly what I said would happen. You can blame Pringles, but Karl couldn't win with Melo either.

Denver never had the pieces to compete at a championship level. That's not on Carmelo.

To what point? when has mike ever played Defense first? If he was coaching the clips he would have blake playing 30mpg at the 5.

But you're right, Amare isn't a 5, and never will be. The suns best year with him was when they could put other 7 footers next to him.

Denver is winning with insane depth (9 NBA starting players). Their 2nd unit is as good as the first. Give the Knicks a quality bench and it's not a problem.

Karl is also a great coach.

Do you think it was a good trade in the end?

That's a serious question, btw - I'm not fucking with you or anything.

Pringles + Monta + Curry + Wright + Lee gives me a boner

Which is why though I joked about it, giving up Mozgov was huge in that deal. Moz when he wasn't hacking and whacking was a good D'Antoni center: dude could throw down a dunk, play ok D and shotblock, and had 17-ft range on his jumper. Plus he was locked in for 2 more years... why wouldn't Denver want the expiring Turiaf, he'd be better for their cap situation. Because Denver clearly was stripping the Knicks, Dolan messed up Donnie's possum strategy.

It's good for both teams, why does there always have to be a loser? Knicks have 2 stars they need to surround with quality role players/defenders
Jeff Van Gundy new D coordinator
with a bit of capspace left. Denver will have lots of space and some budding young talent (wonder if they'll re-sign Wilson Chandler) and CRAAZY depth.

I don't think they did, they won playoff series...

Yes, the Nuggets won two series in one playoff run before losing to the Lakers in the WCF. Every other year, the Nuggets lost in the first round. Carmelo was Wade West.

Nah, the money wouldn't work, Turiaf gets much more. He is not an expirer anyway, he has a player option.

You can hardly count last year against him. That team was all sorts of messed up.

They should've pawned off RMJr or knuckleheaded Bill Walker. Denver has like 4 centers on the roster, they didn't need Moz and specifically asked for him :jakncoke.

I wish I had TiVO, I was out and never saw the Knicks game. WTF at 3 PM starts?

That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen against Favors.

edit: Favors and Millsap getting the Jazz back in it very niceWHAT ARE YOU DOING BELL? I don't understand why he still gets minutes.

Yeah, 22 points in a quarter against the Raps is pretty atrocious.

Perk has gotten into a lot of foul trouble in every game he's played so far.

Don't sleep on the Raptors D bro. Weems & JJ coming at you with the pair of blocks!

I'm presuming it's much like the my little pony thread, a bunch of people you probably don't really want to associate with.

They were basically a couple of piss poor inbound passes away from reaching the Finals. I still hate Ariza for his performance in those games. The pieces were there, they just had to keep their heads in the game, and they blew it that year.

Last year was a train wreck. When Dantley took over things got out of control pretty fast. You could tell that the teams heart wasn't in it, as well as Williams and Boozer (pretty much the whole team... except for Okur) having a great series. I'm not sure what the dynamics were in the locker room, but I can't imagine they were ideal.

Looking ahead, I'm glad Melo's gone. The air seems clear, and surprisingly these guys seem much more hungry than Melo was. I'm sure this might piss off the Knick's fans, but I feel like we gutted their team, due to Melo's selfish requests and the Knick's front office not wanting to look stupid for not getting another superstar. I think that if Melo would have ridden it out and the Knicks were more patient they would have a ECF level team, but instead it seems like they are borderline .500 team for now.

The knicks postgame pissed me off. Every time we lose Antoni's bitch ass chuckles like a pornstar with a big dick inches from her face. I would love to be at one of those things. I would jump on the stage make him swallow some teeth.
