Amiibo (Nintendo Figurines) - Wallets be Damned, Buying Them All!

Let me guess this straight. If I were to buy the Link figurine, it would work with NFC enabled games that features him like Smash Bros WiiU, Mario Kart 8(DLC), and Legend of Zelda WiiU? It only works with Link and not other characters in the LoZ franchise like Zelda/Shiek?

I will buy Ness amiibos every chance I get whenever his rolls around. I will have a row of Nesses. If they fell over, it would be a mess of Ness.

Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness.

I absolutely do not expect to be able to keep up with a 100% collection long-term, so I'm not going to fall into the trap of buying up the whole first set. But the original, frugal plan of holding out for one and only one figure, preferably the one I want most (Toon Link), is a total bust. I'll be picking up one or two of the first set just to try them out. Yes, just one or two. I'll keep telling myself that.

Are all the original ones shown being released in the first wave? I need that Marth figurine. So damn nice! Also will likely get Kirby and Fox from that grouping. Can't wait see the other Fire Emblem characters and Shulk! My goodness, I want Shulk!

So...anyone gonna use these Smash Amiibos as chess pieces? :D

I mean do you really REALLY want them? Or you're like worried that there might not be enough offered at your store? Then preorder them. There's no harm in preordering what you want to make sure you get it.

I'm not begging and pleading, but I would buy some for my studio to display! If anything, i'm not sure if they would sell out quick but I would assume they eventually would. I think i'll go ahead with the best buy deal and pre order them so I can pick them up come release day.

Wouldn't hurt to pre-order just in case.

True. Thanks guys!

As I said in Figure GAF, the more complex designs just don't hold up.
Wanted Marth and Link, but they look awful.
Hope Pit turns out ok, but I'm pessimistic.

Pikachu and Kirby are fine, but that's due to their more simplistic designs.

At least I don't have to worry about losing too much.

Yep - I probably won't wait the gajillion yeas it will take Nintendo to release Ness and Little Mac figures, if they ever do. I'll probably get Samus just so I can have a play around with what's increasingly looking to be the future of Nintendo

I preordered the Samus one since that one looks pretty sweet. Probably will get some of the other ones/future ones at some point, but it really depends on the functionality and quality.

Your amiibo will be able to increase its attack and defense stats and even learn new fighting tactics.
This is the most interesting thing for me. Would be cool if they'd actually implemented some machine learning stuff.

pretty sure they said this in the initial vids. Also to your quoted: they learn and adapt to fight styles (same vids).
Yup, they actually grow stronger when fighting other amiibos in comparison to just fighting the in-game CPU.
