I was shoved out of the theatre, so I couldn't see the post credit scenes. What happened?
Was the tank and subatomic parts really predictable?
I thought Darren Cross liquefying a dude and then literally flushing him down the toilet was some seriously dark shit.
Of course it was. I hate all that TOO obvious stuff, there are better ways to let you know something exist an it will make sense talking about it again without doing a 2 second detail shot of that thing (tanks) and repeating something more than two times (subatomic).
Maybe I missed something but didn't the tank keychain only come up literally seconds before he grew to bigger size? I don't remember it being introduced earlier in the film.

Aww, man.Wasp suit reveal for Hope and a clip from civil war with Bucky, Falcon, and Cap

At the very beginning of the film it shows the tank when Pym is going through security. But that is set up as a hint to show that Lang is actually breaking into Pym's house and not some random old guy. When you see the tank you remember it not because it's super important for the reason that it's a real tank but because it had some other narrative show don't tell purpose earlier in the film. I thought it was rather clever film making actually.Maybe I missed something but didn't the tank keychain only come up literally seconds before he grew to bigger size? Man that guy getting turned to goo then wiped and flushed made me go damn D:
I found the film thoroughly enjoyable and had a smile on my face from start to finish.
It may not be Winter Soldier-tier, but it's probably my 3rd favorite of the Phase 2 films, right behind Guardians of the Galaxy.
Final fight was insanely creative. I don't see why people are saying stuff was "predictable" with the tank or the sub-atomic world. That was supposed to be predictable; it's foreshadowing 101.
It had PLENTY of genuine surprises throughout the film, especially in the third act.
Antony was a true bro, he went before his time.

I feel like Scott going quantum is our first real introduction into the 'magic' side of the MCU that Doctor Strange will be delving full on into.
If there is groundwork laid, it's "predictable bullshit".
If there is no groundwork laid, it's "deus ex machina bullshit"
All we need to figure out quantum mechanics is contained within the "I want plot points to be both supported and not supported" superposition.
The things meant to be predictable were predictable. The things not meant to be predictable such as the briefcase, ping pong paddle, giant ant dog, etc. were not as predictable. That's what foreshadowing is. Shocking!

Excuse me?Folks talking about Ultimate Universe like it is still a thing, ha
Aldrich Killian is also dead.Did Yellow Jacket go sub atomic or did his body implode like his research facility?
How many Marvel movie villains are actually confirmed dead?
Abomination is alive
Mandarin is alive
Not entirely sure if Ultron is dead or was absorbed by Vision
Ronan is dead
Iron Monger is dead?
Whiplash
But is Ronan really dead? I had always assumed he was sucked into the soul gem and not actually dead.Did Yellow Jacket go sub atomic or did his body implode like his research facility?

Zola might not be dead. There could be backups. Well, I guess the actual person is dead. But whatever.![]()
Just came back, great GREAT film. 9 / 10 for me. Surpsingly funny, THAT POST CREDITS SCENE!
Michael Pena's character basically reference Spider Man at the end right? When he's explaining who Falcon is looking for? Somebody who can walk on walls?
Plus the Hydra guy got away with some of the Yellow Jacket formula right?
iirc correctly didnt the former shield guy (who got his faced wrecked by pym) got one pym particle serum? What happened to him?

completely disagree the movie was the funniest marvel film in ages. Partly also because it was enjoyable without knowing all the previous films and being focused on A few characters. This movie. I dont know why Marvel picked Ant Man of all their properties to spend the money on for a movie. This could have been an awesome Winter Soldier movie hunting Hydra, or the Black Panther movie for some diversity atleast, but no they went with the most obscure and random hero that is rarely even used in the comics anymore. There just isnt that much to the character or his villans, Hell Hank Pym is the only thing special about Ant Man and hes the closest thing the MCU has to a Reed Richards.
The only way this movie could have tied into the MCU was to have Ultron made by Pym like in the comics. Having Stark make Ultron completely made Ant Man basically worthless as far as plot goes.
As a comedy and stand alone movie it was ok. The villan wasnt very special and his motivations were the worst in the MCU since maybe Ronin or the guy from Iron Man 3. I just honestly dont see why this character matters at all or why anyone should even care. Only Marvel knows what they are doing.
Same with my wife. She expected nothing but came out pleasantly surprised. She actually thinks its her favorite marvel movie. My wife said the same thing last night. She said that she went to see it because I was excited, but she thought it was going to be incredibly dumb, and she was surprised when it turned out to be good.
Did they address why Hank, Scott and Jan need the masks? Also, I think Hope's suit doesn't have it unless it's more advanced?
Hope suit in mid credit scene had mask I think, although I guess they could tweak it in future film and make the helmet had glass front, so you can see more of Hope's faceDid they address why Hank, Scott and Jan need the masks? Also, I think Hope's suit doesn't have it unless it's more advanced?
Scott has a masters in engineering, and he can shrink. Are they going to use him to fix Bucky's arm? It looks like his body is rejecting it, judging from how much pain he was in.
The ping pong paddle scene was really, really satsifying. Lol.
Aldrich Killian is also dead.
Zola
Malekith
Kurse

And yet Cross still went cray cray without actually using them till the end.Otherwise pym particles alters your brain waves
