Did not like david pogue's article saying the 5s is the least compelling yearly upgrade and first time apple did not bring out an innovative iphone. Was he asleep when 4s came out ?

That makes no sense. It's already in people's hands. Even though it's in short supply doesn't mean it didn't launch.
I got a much better delivery date than that for my white/silver.

As somebody who is supposedly a supply chain God, Cook should've taken one look at the 5s situation and just took it on the chin and launched in October.
Supply is severely constrained. Most stores only getting one colour. White/Gold seem close to non-existent.
Shareholders are gonna be expecting a big weekend press release next week and that's when Cook is gonna have to face the music.
Even the most ardent of Apple fans must admit that there hasn't been an iPhone launch this messy for a number of years.

The colours/tones look pretty good for unedited phone photos. Probably due to the new flash on the 5s.
Regardless, a HUGE improvement from photos using the old flash.
I doubt the flash was having much effect there.
Got a Space Grey 32. I liked the Silver a lot, but they got zero 32 GB Silvers and zero golds period. The people on both sides of me in line all wanted gold so they were complaining about this. The person who helped me at Verizon was very friendly but Jesus they wouldn't stop trying to push accessories onto me.

I was embarrassed to be at my VZW store this morning. News crew interviewing Apple fans, store employees flying GoPro equipped quadcopters around the parking lot filming and still other employees walking down the line taking pictures of the crowd while high five'ing people. What a freak show.

Though I didn't want it, Space Grey is actually growing on me. It looks nice in person, I just wish it had a Space Grey ring. The Silver/Gold models have matching rings, and they look great.
I still kind of want a white faced phone, but I might stick with this. Resale value might not be as good next year, and everyone is going to be walking around with this color, but it's definitely not bad.

Best Buy only had 16GB black. So I walked out and ordered from Apple. Fortunately, I only waited in line for 20 minutes.

There was a big hubbub last year when there were no lines for the 5 that created a lot of negative buzz for Apple and coincided with their big stock price drop
This makes it obvious you don't know much about photography.
Flash is often used in photography in daylight as well.

On another note, the prices on craigstlist are insane right now. I had NO intention of selling but, if people are actually paying these prices, it's very tempting. My contract will be renewed and it will burn my upgrade, but I have another on my family plan and could really use the cash.
I'd feel bad taking so much money for the phone though, even though I waited nine hours for it.

This phone is bombing in Australia, I work for one of the biggest retailers here.
We sold 5 on launch day, as opposed to 20 iphone 5's day 1.
No one called and asked about it. No one couldn't get one because of stock levels.
Not one person wanted a 5C.
If it was any other phone I'd call it successful, however as a company we have done about 25% of the sales we did with the 5.
Pretty disappointing to say the least, last year we had a line up of people, this year we had 3 people walk through the door when we opened to get one.

The site said 1-3 days when it was ordered.
Business days. Apple ships from china and its 11pm there already.
I would expect a shipping notice sunday night/early monday morning.

Struck out at an ATT store, Target and Radio Shack but found a good stock at the bigger AT&T store near me. You're shit out of luck if you want a gold or silver it seems. Online ordering looks like it might be the best route for that.
