this game is so god damned jaggy and fuzzy. no way to clean it up without playing at 30 fps.
Probably
If they make it free they will have to do something for those that already bought the season pass. Not sure I see that happening
What the hell would frame rate have to do with how jaggy and fuzzy the image is? Have you turned off chromatic aberration and the film effect? That goes a long way towards cleaning up the image. Don't know why Rocksteady thought that shit looked good, the second I disabled that shit the image looked exponentially better.
It's been on sale digitally on PSN (not sure about XBL) so I highly doubt it will launch at $60. I think $40~ is a safe bet, and I don't think they'll discount the season pass either. Maybe $5 off.
Both console versions have poor IQ as well.
On PC I can at least disable the film grain and the CA, it definitely enhances the IQ.
i wasnt trying to imply that it was better on consoles
If they really launch this for 40$, is a big fuck off to people who put trust in WB and didn't refund the game.
How bout people like me who not only bought the game but also got the season pass ahead of time? We're the ones really getting fucked. I'd like to refund my season pass purchase but it was from Green Man Gaming so fuck me I guess. I'd be ok with it if they just gave me Shadow of Morder or MKX, but that won't happen. I'd refund the game but it was part of an Nvidia GPU purchase, (and don't tell me that makes it free, the price of the game is subsidized by the GPU purchase, not negated by it), so fuck me twice. I'm willing to bet what will happen is those who have waited on the game's release will probably get the season pass for either free or discounted; but since I've already purchased it then fuck me thrice. This whole thing has been educational though as it's taught me a valuable lesson; don't ever ever EVER buy anything from WB at launch. I'll make smarter decisions next time.
My guess if they give something out:
Base game owners: free season pass
Season pass owners: free season pass 2 (assuming they're making more DLC) or a choice between a selection of WB published games.
I don't think a discount would change anyone's opinion.

Msi 970
i52500k
8gb ram
Ssd
Etc...
Still runs terribly. Fluctuates between 30-60 (when locked at 60). Even if I switch everything that affects performance off/lowest. Even if I overclock everything.
I can't see this ever running well for me.
Spoke with scan.co.uk who told me they couldn't do anything as the game was free even though they know every well the cost of the game is factored into the package and the bundled games are what got them many of their new sales.
Bler.
Aside from that I'm running out of ideas, it should not run at 60fps locked with max settings but you should be able to get a 50-60fps experience without Gameworks effects and textures on medium (high will require more VRAM than your 970 has).
Issue is that high textures only bump Batman textures so there is no reason for higher VRAM usage. Game is not optimised and it will probably stay that way unfortunately.
Myself I can't clearly see the difference between medium and high textures, how do you know it only makes a difference on Batman and not some part of the environment.
It means those with 3gb cards can still get console-class textures, the high setting may or may not warrant its demands but it's optional anyway.I "licked" some walls when second patch was released and only difference was textures on Bat suit were better. But other than that i haven't seen anything different. And if there are other changes it is hard to justify high VRAM usage if you don't see difference.

Yeah but if High textures don't change a thing or change a very little but VRAM usage is high that means that they are bumping sys requirements artificially and that is not ok.
It's possible the high texture setting caches as much textures into your VRAM for smoother gameplay. Can't prove that, just a thought.
The description on the setting says "unlocks top mips" which, if I understand it, relates to mip maps which are "downscaled versions (by powers of two) of a Texture", "used to reduce jitter on textured surfaces when they're viewed from a distance". So I guess it just loads in higher res textures from a greater distance?
I wonder if NVIDIA is ever going to update the "optimization" profile for the game but I guess if they were it'd be this week.
Just as a heads up, the patch is coming wednesday oct 28, including all current updates and current dlc.
No... As has been stated multiple times, they don't owe anyone anything. Everyone was entitled to refunds if you bought from a reputable retailer.
If you're unhappy with the way the situation has been handled then just don't buy WB again. That's all there really is to it :/
I'm not arguing against free stuff and it would be great if they did anything. But they don't HAVE to. As far as they are concerned they have done everything they should have done in this situation.please. Every company does something when they mess up Sony ubisoft microsoft and EA to name a few
Wait a minute why are you arguing against free stuff
their announcement doesnt give me too much confidence in the patch doing much other than let you buy dlc

Yeah, they shouldn't have and it's shocking that they did. But they gave everyone who bought from a proper retailer the opportunity to return it for a full refund regardless of how much time they spent on it, they released a patch which fixed most things on mid-high end systems (low end systems are still fucked, probably) and they waited until it was running okay for most people before putting it back on sale. They also apologised multiple times. Not that I entirely disagree with your sentiment, but no they really didn't do everything they should have done in this situation.
They shouldn't have released the game in the state it was released in, for one.
When the last 'big' patch hit they updated it that day. My 970 went from being recommended to turn everything on max except for fog effects, to turning everything down and all the nvidia stuff off.I wonder if NVIDIA is ever going to update the "optimization" profile for the game but I guess if they were it'd be this week.

If you're unhappy with the way they've handled the situation then just don't buy WB games anymore. Yeah, they'll have lost a lot of goodwill by doing nothing but considering how quickly people jumped on Mad Max when it was reported to be a good port I doubt they're concerned about that.
