No, it gets even more evil. Watch it.
Nope, can't do it. Just watched his thoughts on the PS3. Guy is a fucking idiot.

Hahaha, posts like this are hilarious.
I'm like 2 minutes in and the way that renee girl and the alex guy quickly defend watching live tv makes me think they've been moneyhatted.
You laugh but I've seen Disney wine & dine bloggers to come down and put a postive spin on a new ride or show that fans online have already responded negativelly towards to try and influence word of mouth. Companies like that pay an obscene amount of money to get people on social networking sites, blogs, and smalltime sites on board with their message.
No reason at all to think Microsoft wouldn't do the same.
This dude is like in his late thirties rockin a hairstyle that even 20 year olds are moving away from.
Eh, Geoff has a bigger business concern at heart IMO. He's not going to make any radical or divisive statements. Neutrality is his usual approach.
Unless you're Reggie. Then he'll go in on you.
When did this happen?
When did this happen?
Garnett is mistaking. the xbox will use a cable stream and network to interact with the tv. its not just an overlay. You can already do a ot of that with your tablet now,
The problem is branding anyone who doesn't criticize it into the ground a potential recipient of this kind of payoff.

I know and unfortunately some people will get accused or caught in the crossfire. I myself defend the X1 sometimes but usually you can tell if the person really believes that or if they have been bought.
It's hard not to when 99% of the people defending it are doing it with so many buzzwords they read like viral marketers.
Holy shit what the.....
x1 is supposedly an all in one box yet it cant play their own 360 games.
He is playing through it now. Hes at the forest with the text adventures.Did Garnett ever play Nier by the way?
He said "ive been hearing that playstation is going to have something similar."
It's no secret that Sony has a used game limitation system as well that's basically RFID. The question is whether they will implement it. A week ago I would have said yes. Now... I don't think they will. In fact i'm fairly certain of it.
Jesus the GT video player is the worst. It has always been terrible, yet they managed to make it worse in a latest redesign.
Do you think publishers will be happy with Sony if they aren't getting a part of every game sale whether new or used? If they don't implement something, anything, they could be on the outside looking in as publishers clamor for the guaranteed money for every disc always from the Microsoft side.
Yeah, and it doesn't even play SNES games either. All in 1 box my ass.
It doesn't work that way. He is the dudebro MASTER, always was. Always was invited for being that. Thought he was a director at one point after leaving digg. Used his internet fame to make his wife a popstar. Why would anyone give a shit what this dude thinks or says? Jeezus.
Wow, it's time for my return to his show. It's been a long time coming. He is playing through it now. Hes at the forest with the text adventures.
I still think they're going to walk that back. 24 might have been their internal timeout, but everything they've spoken about is a truly always-online system. They may just double down on the always-online nature of the box.
I dont know if he has talked about it on the show since im a week behind, but he has been tweeting about the game a lot.Wow, it's time for my return to his show. It's been a long time coming.
One little tidbit from Geoff that might be a big clue is he said "From what I've been hearing Sony will have something similar, the pubs won't let them not have no drm"... I'm paraphrasing. Geoff is one of the most keyed in dudes in the industry so that's a major clue.
Exactly.
But I think people are overblowing that this is pressure from outside publishers. Im sure they want it... but the reason these things were ever investigated in the first place was because it would make Sony and MS more money. Not because they wanted to please their partners. That's just a nice bit of gravy on top.
Honestly though, I don't think either are going to happen. Im fairly certain that Sony has dropped their plans based on a few folks I've talked to. And even though I don't really like microsoft... they aren't stupid... they have plenty of time to roll this back. They already have been if you compare how restrictive the policy sounded on day one and what it sounds like now (with the inclusion of "we will have more to say later"). Basically the outrage is making everyone take another look at these things and see if its worthwhile. And I know a lot of people around here think that publishers are strong arming them into this... but as I explained above, they aren't, these are initiatives by sony and MS to make money for Sony and MS. If they feel like the consumer outrage will cut into their profits more than used games will... used games will be just like they were last gen. And that's what I expect to ultimately happen.
And this flies in the face all of the people saying "CALM DOWN, WAIT FOR E3!!!" The lesson here is not to calm down, it's too tell these companies you don't like what they are doing. Which means take off your fanboy hat for a second and join in letting whatever company you have a preference for know you aren't happy. If everyone was quiet after the MS reveal I can guarantee that both companies would be full steam ahead with restrictive policies. Hell, they would possibly be making them more restrictive.

True. Always online is always online, 24 hours doesn't change that (even though people try to argue otherwise, it's just schematics)
Yeah, that was.... kind of worrying.

So let me guess... Just buy the system and the new licenses wait for them to do. They ought to. Sometime. You waited so admirably..And because it seems like the DRM will be completely software they are able to change their plans.
Wow there were some serious MS tools in there...that was a bit sad to watch actually.Does the guy on the right wants to convince us that the people who were disappointed with Sony by not showing their bloody console design is the same with this fucking PR disaster?
Was it really a bonus to him and the woman that they showed this ugly thing?
And seriously Keighley is starting to sound like a broken record with all this "but hey it's only software" crap whenever something negative comes up.Guess what Geoff just because it's software it doesn't means that publishers are suddenly going to change their policies for their consumer's benefits. For what it's worth it's a biggest possibility to go the other way around and screw them even harder without even asking them once they have locked them good enough with a subscription or an investment in digital games content.
Well, 24-hour is only a problem if you can't use an internet connection where it's set up. Always requiring a connection adds additional problems on top of that, like if your internet is down, or Live is down, even for a short period.
