Other message board marketplaces I'm a part of allow member to post "feelers" to gauge the interest on an item and what it might be worth. I prefer selling here as opposed to eBay or somewhere else. I'm not sure what the issue is. Potential buyers are free to do whatever they'd like. If a mod wants me to remove it, then I will. I have a perfect feedback rating here on NeoGaf and eBay alike. Not trying to pull anything shady.

It's pretty much no different than "I'm selling this but don't know how much I want so I would appreciate offers." If no offers are appealing enough, you don't have to sell to the highest bidder. It's just worded and presented differently.
No it isn't In one case the seller is selling an item and taking offers. In the other they are asking what an item that isn't for sale is worth on the off-chance they decide to sell it in the future. These aren't the same. One has a place in a thread like this, the other is a bullshit waste of time.
