DLSS is God tier compared to this shite. This is what worried me reading about what PSSR was doing from an engeenering point of view. The most interesting thing will be now to see how it stacks up to software only brach of XeSS because if it is poor than that then this thing is a bit of a scam as PS5 surely could do some PSSR lite stuff. Basically the extra GPU power is doing the heavy lifting instead of PSSR which does not boad well for Unreal engine titles. It also means ML part of this custom APU is weak. Honestly this is not what I was expecting. So you wont use DLSS?
I'm calling bullshit.
lol I never use up-scaling. I am pretty vocal on that.
The performance is better on the Pro. They show PS5 droping to low 50s in a fight where the Pro keeps locked at 60.On quality mode it wasn't blurry on PS5 and rendered around native 4k/2160P and the framerate was solid at 30fps, but on the performance mode the IQ was low res and quite blurry but the 60fps was solid.
So now we get the best of both worlds.
Sony didn't want to devalue the base PS5 too much.Just 2 minutes in and this video has done a far better job of selling the pro than the entire 10 minute presentation from sony did.
It’s amazing what some ML based upscaling magic can achieve.
Just 2 minutes in and this video has done a far better job of selling the pro than the entire 10 minute presentation from sony did.
You'll be using DLSS if running 4K/60.no it will be much cleaner on my PC for sure as I wouldn't have to use any up scaling BS
So much hyperbole.DLSS is God tier compared to this shite.
Check the eurogamer article guys, they're doing a PS5 perf / PS5 quality / PS5 Pro 60 fps comparison there and the difference in image quality is night and day.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 Pro delivers huge image quality improvements at 60fps
Digital Foundry says that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a night and day improvement to image quality over base PS5 in the all-important 60fps performance mode.www.eurogamer.net
It's not just Rebirth though, there's a huge list of games with terrible image quality on performance modes.the base game didnt use any decent upscaling techniques which is why it looks so blurry, PSSR gets a free hit with this one to cover up Squares mistakes/laziness
And showing off of static images of PS5 Pro here is not hyperbole. You'll be using DLSS if running 4K/60.
So much hyperbole.
I guess we found the new battleground narrative lines drawn in the sand for this hardware cycle.
Very much hyperbole. And showing of static images of PS5 Pro here is not hyperbole.
Looks better than Fidelity indeed.Check the eurogamer article guys, they're doing a PS5 perf / PS5 quality / PS5 Pro 60 fps comparison there and the difference in image quality is night and day.

It's still using dynamic resolution, so at times PSSR is taking a 1080p base image and upscaling it to 4K, looking a bit better than native in my opinion. So it's like the One X running in 4K the same games that where 1080 on Xbox One, the difference being that the One X did it through brute force. He said it's a similar upgrade in image quality going from xbox one to one x
It surely is, especially when taking into the account that the framerate is doubled as well. On that lowly Zen 2 10%er.IMHO the difference is bigger than it was between PS4 and PS4 Pro.
Man if I don't score a pre-order I'm gonna be pissed I don't even feel like playing anymore games on my ps5
So why were you disappointed GT runs at 1080p?First realy impressive improvement, dynamic pssr at 1080p-1296 range gives better results than native 4k (tough with less stable image), awsome !
I felt Tifa's hair looks better on Pro with PSSR as the strands look more pronounced.
I bet that GT7 with PSSR and RT will look better than the current game at 4K.So why were you disappointed GT runs at 1080p?
1188p GT7 (PSSR) + ray-tracing vs native 4K GT7
Me too, bro. Me tooI bet that GT7 with PSSR and RT will look better than the current game at 4K.
racing games are not best for upscaling, even dlss in acc doesnt give best resultsSo why were you disappointed GT runs at 1080p?
1188p GT7 (PSSR) + ray-tracing vs native 4K GT7
I think this is just a small sample. It's a reason to get excited!Let them show a couple more hugely improved games like that and im back on the hype train !
I felt Tifa's hair looks better on Pro with PSSR as the strands look more pronounced.
Agree I'm sitting here trying to understand why some users are trying so hard to downplay this. You'll be using DLSS if running 4K/60.
So much hyperbole.
I guess we found the new battleground narrative lines drawn in the sand for this hardware cycle.
What remains surprising is that the IQ on PS5 was so horrendous even though the native resolution in both modes is so high. It's surprising how a resolution of 1080-1200p looked like something at 720p. Or how a native 4K resolution doesn't look anything close to something truly native 4K.
Agree I'm sitting here trying to understand why some users are trying so hard to downplay this.
Bodes well for FFXVI, which also didn't have a temporal upscaling solution.
GT7 VR is going to be insane on this machine. I can't fucking wait.I bet that GT7 with PSSR and RT will look better than the current game at 4K.
