Geez, hearing from some of you that the theater events are sold out is crazy. I bought tickets on Sunday without much trouble out in Central MA...although it looks like it's now sold out for the 3D showing, which is the one we're going to. I didn't expect this kind of demand, but I guess this was publicized better and is more culturally relevant than my last Fathom event (Star Trek TNG: The Best of Both Worlds).

Now I'm just debating whether I'll watch it at home on Saturday night and then see it in the theater, or try and hold out and watch it in the theater as my first watch. Will have to evade the internet for a couple days!

Bought my ticket to the theater event on Monday here. I may be going alone, but it should be awesome.

I'm currently on series 5 in my first watch of the show. I have a series and a half to go before the end of November...

I haven't got BBC America on my basic cable (and only a crappy SD box). If I'm not abe to get to the theatrical screening, what's the usual wait for it turning up on the US iTunes store?

I'm also wanting to see Adventures in Time and Space ASAP.

Despite keeping my expectations very low for the anniversary
(always felt the specials were never as good as they could have been)
. I still can't shake this silly feeling that we'll actually see Eccleston in a very brief appearance after Tennant and Smith force the Hurt Doctor to regenerate into 9th.

Yeah, I know.

Are they allowed to use available old footage of Eccleston like they do for the older Doctors, or is that legally forbidden like Crispin Glover's appearance in Back to the Future II?

They've done it before, in the Eleventh Hour, and all those episodes with archive footage.

EDIT: If they did decide to move up the trailer, I would be betting those pictures would be released tonight, or tomorrow night.

It's possible they're the same day, I guess. Eight fights the time war, comes up against a decision he knows he can't make, dies while unable to make it, Hurt regenerates, and says "Fuck this."

This also makes it possible to end the minisode without showing what he actually does, just that he's about to do it, and that it's suitably hardcore.

Yeah, that's why I said "explicitly". Implicitly they're probably going to be one and the same.

Oh you guys are getting me hyped up and hopeful when I know I shouldn't be. I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the disappointment if it turns out to be Vastra giving a monologue.

If the Last Day features Hurt's regeneration, that would be what then, two minutes of McGann? If that?

Even still, it'd be cool to see non-wig McGann on screen, even for only a minute.

Watch it be a body double with a naff looking 8th Doctor wig, solely shot from behind. Which I guess is better than nothing?!

I think I have Stockholm Syndrome.

The Gallifrey Base 'look back' forum is mental. They're on Series 3/4 right now. Somebody's described The Doctor's Daughter, an episode I'd peg as pretty mediocre (and terrible for Freema/Martha) as, I quote, "A war crime." Somebody's also described Journey's End as "worse than Time and the Rani" which sort of makes my brain melt.

The Gridlock thread is overwhelmingly positive, though, so they're not completely mental. Some people are angry that the Doctor takes an anti-drugs stance in that show and says he's going to close down the drug vendors, though. (In a family show! What a disgrace, an anti-drug message!)
