Doctor Who Series 2011 |OT| Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff

Been rewatching a lot of the Tennant run lately, and...man, I really want to see 10 and 11 interact with each other for an episode, or even just a small one-off like 5 and 10 in Time Crash. Maybe it could be the clone of 10 that lives with Rose in the parallel universe, if they don't want to go completely wibbly wobbly with paradoxes.

I'd rather Susan's origin remain somewhat a mystery, much like the Doctor. Carole Ann Ford is still alive though, so an older Susan could make an appearance (assuming someone wants to create an explanation for her being alive, post-Time War) if he wanted to take a trip down memory lane.

Big finish have explored the older susan thing, though obviously due to licensing issues they can't mention the Time War.

Lemme guess, one of you's including Big Finish, and the other one isn't?

People's regard of Colin Baker does seem to be very much dependent on that!

Multi-doctor for the 50th Anniversary would make a lot of sense, and I don't see *any* way Tennant would turn down the opportunity if he was offered it.

I think it would be a tremendous shame if he didn't. The people he had issues with have gone and I think for a bit of history and to make people happy, a few days work isn't much to do.

I know he liked the Moffat script in series 1 so who knows.
I doubt he will appear though; already he gets asked about Who too much. I hate when reporters say to him/Tennant 'We can't not talk about Doctor Who' and you think - yes, you really can.

His recent huge success back in Theater (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18293335) I don't think he'll want to return.

It'd be cool if he were in the opening sequence or something.

If its just Tennant/Smith I suspect an old fashioned 'team up'. I wonder if Moff will write it all himself though, I wouldn't be surprised at a few part story with RTD returning.

I definitely feel like MAGICALLY RECONSTRUCTING all 11 doctors using COMPUTERS is definitely something that 'they' should be able to do now.

Just get new actors to play the older Doctors. I don't want to see shit like Davison back as an old man again and I don't want them to waste money on some creepy CG Jeff Bridges shit. Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann are exempt from this, of course.

You appear to be suggesting that an actor exists who matches Tom Baker at the height of his charisma/ insanity.

:lol

Unfortunately not very similar looking :(

Smart money says they avoid Doctor 4 like the plague. He's iconic and beloved, but he's also a shortcut to royally pissing off the fans if they mess him up.

Not a chance. If the 50th Anniversary features Doctors beyond the New Series, no way they leave out the most iconic of them all.

Even if he was utterly terrible after his first 4 years.

There's like a 1% chance they do him justice. This 50th Anniversary stuff is gonna be weird.

My brother actually came up with a very good story featuring Omega that would allow for all of the past Doctors (non dead ones) to come back and explain their aging.

Didn't they already come up with an excuse for the ageing aspect when they did the Time Crash short, I can't remember what was said but I'm pretty sure Tennent mentions a reason why Davison looked older than he would have before regenerating.
I could be remembering wrong though.

My brother's explanation is actually a key part of the plot though, so its not a passing 'oh shit people will notice' throwaway line. It involves multiple universes and the Doctor having not regenerated in those Universes and being drawn together by Omega so that he could finish off one instance of each of the regenerations at the same time.

No, you're right. He said that the fifth Doctor's body had temporarily aged to compensate for the time difference between them and that he'd return to normal once the TARDIS' separated.

Too bad the sound isn't that great on those videos. Pretty epic to have all five in a room at once.

That Karen Gillan video... dem legs.

Trying to place her outfit. The jacket is quite modern, but underneath it looks a bit more 1920s-ish; the sort of thing you'd see kids huddled up in on a railway station platform before being evacuated.

Doesn't take long at all for Who fans to throw the old shit under the bus.

If you had asked 2 years ago I would have told you the same thing, it isn't like were comparing their ability to act or how good they are in DW here, just simply looks.

If I had said Gillian was better looking than Donner would you say the same thing? lol.

If the majority of the chatter that a companion engenders is "I can indeed fap to this" instead of "I wonder what kind of personality quirks and interesting behaviors this new character will have", then it is not a great choice for a companion.

Donna was best companion of the RTD years. I think she gets a bad rap by many. She was great because she was not fawning over the Doctor, but also did not put up with any of his shit.

Donna was easily the best companion of RTD, and I agree with Rory being the better companion for 11. Notice what the two of them have in common? Or rather, what they're lacking?

I thought people loved Donna (at least here on GAF), but hated how the writers decided to send her off ('Can't remember, destroy all of space/time'), essentially writing her out of the show for good.

Agree completely. I like pretty girls who swoon and scream a lot as much as the next guy, but I prefer the more nuanced companions. I think that's why I also really dig Leela and Turlough.
