Looks like the Tardis appears differently now? Or had I just not noticed it before? Always just seemed to fade in or fade out, I kinda liked that way better.

I'm assuming that there is something else going on in that scene. Might be cloaked or something.

Hopefully. I would welcome change, but I always liked the fading as it went so well with the sound and the light.

Other way around. The Doctor saw River die. And then put her brain in a computer.

So if she's the Doctor, we've seen the Doctor's final death. Barring a few seasons of "The Doctor In the Computer."
I must've missed this - which episode did this happen in?

First two parter she was in. Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead from Series 4.

Great episodes. You should watch them if you haven't.

The newest trailer I saw on face book is by far the coolest use of the doctor's new past.

-Voice "I've killed hundreds of Time Lords."
-Doctor "I've killed them all."

or something to that effect.

Oh, it's a fantastic trailer.

Retailers are putting up the DVD/Blu-Ray for the first half of Series 6 with a plot overview:

The Doctor returns, alongside newly weds Amy and Rory, to face monsters and mysteries and adventures all across time and space, in a thrilling new series of Doctor Who. Together they’ll find themselves in sixties America, battling the invasion the world forgot, then journey on the high seas of 1696 aboard a pirate ship, to solve the mystery of the Siren. In a bubble universe at the very edge of reality, the Doctor will meet an old friend with a new face, and in a monastery on a remote island in the near future, an industrial accident will take on a terrible human shape. And waiting for them, at the end of all this, is the battle of Demon’s Run, and the Doctor’s darkest hour. Can even the truth about River Song save the Time Lord’s soul?

Only two things are certain. Silence will fall. And a good man is going to die…

Good lord I'm excited. More River & Rory plus a GAIMAN episode?

The show has also really settled in its own visual style and cinematography. It's certainly come a loooonng way since series 1.

So, er, from that SPOILERY plot synopsis above:

In a bubble universe at the very edge of reality, the Doctor will meet an old friend with a new face,

I sort of want to know... and really, really don't want to know.

If it's what one would expect it to be, I'll be interested to see how they explain how it can happen.

I don't know if you're thinking what I'm thinking but it does matter which continuity they are working with... I guess.

Wait... what?

Isn't the Master stuck in the Time War? That's the problem I was referring to. Moffat is definitely working with RTD continuity.

I thought that, but I don't think so, for the simple reason that I'm not sure it'd refer to him as a 'friend'. Sure, it could be read sarcastically, but I don't think that's the way it'd be written.

If it *is* a Time Lord, there's only one he'd really call a 'friend'. And I can't help but go down the 'surely that's too fanwanky' approach

Oh. Or Jenny. Although she's a bit more than a friend. Indeed, a *lot* more once the incestuousness gets ironed out, but we've already been through that recently.

Oh, wait. At some point, too, there's got to be a midpoint somewhere between Captain Jack and Face of Boe. That could be it. In fact, there's quite a few options here!

Well, I've no idea who it's referring to. I can only think of Time Lords who hate him.

Wait... Romana?! God I hope not. :L And yeah, I thought about Jack. Wonder if they'll address that.

So, I'm the only one hoping for Romana. She was technically the wife of a Doctor. Well, in real life. LOL Also, I'm still trying to make the connection between War Games and Gaiman's episode. Can't wait to see it.

Yes, I am fanwanky.

I added a bit more to that, but my original vague allusion was to Romana

I wonder if that desert episode that River is in is related to the Bone Meadows she mentioned back in the Library...

/edit And I bet the reason the Tardis materialises differently in the trailer is because he finally takes the brakes off!

Indeed.
Bubble universe = ESpace?

The booming voice in the UK trailer... The Great Vampire?

Going through the new series for the first time now, and just from s.1 to s.2 the cinematography greatly improved.

This might well be a genuine spoiler which I've just spotted in the images above. Something familiar:

The image of River standing on the edge over a precipice in a slinky dress. Look at her arms.

All work and No Doctor make Riversong go something something...

Recently I watched Tomb of the Cybermen, that was surprisingly creepy in places, especially the synthesized voice of the Cyber Leader. Anyhow I find them creppier than the Cybus Cybermen, they were a far cry away from the absurd Cyber King concept. I'll love to see them reinvented again.

Tomb of the Cybermen is one of my favourites. Definitely agree on the cyber voices.

I don't know how many people have listened to the audio dramas but they were horrific in 'Spare Parts', which tells the possible origins of the Cybermen.

Definitely, finished The Moonbase the other week and should get to Tomb soon. I love the old Cybermen.

Tomb of the Cybermen is great. One of my favourite Cybermen stories.
