I did suggest the baddie could be
Evil Doctor From The Future, but I want him played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

McGann and Tennant won't return until the 50th Anniversary. :p

There is definitely an enemy
from Gallifrey in there this season. Has to be Omega for me.

Based on
the line '“How could a fellow Gallifreyan stoop so low?”

That could mean River could kill Omega

I missed that line.

I'm still holding out hope for a return of the Dream lord.

My mate told me the other day he thought that was the worst episode of last season. I felt like roundhousing him through the fucking wall

I don't remember it that well but they did mention that the person who remotely piloted the TARDIS had to have been a scientist, didn't they? It's either a completely new villain or one of a handful of existing ones.

Was really that episode that made me accept Amy, though in part because I think Amy/Rory work much better as a team companion than just Amy.

You must have also missed the following:
Ominous voice: "I've killed hundreds of Timelords" 11: "That's nothing, I killed them all" (Another Time War reference!)

I did not miss that.

Its not in the trailer. Its from a book that comes out before every season with teaser quotes and hints in it. Link Here

41 teases. Spoilers obviously.
From that site -
4 August 1982 – Happy Birthday, Ma’am.

Heeey, that's my birthday, 9 years before I was born! :D

I'm guessing the Queen's mother's involved then, seeing as same birthday and everything. Or Obama. But he's not a "Ma'am". More of a "Ma'an".

...I'll get me coat.

Some non-spoiler reviews of Episodes 1 & 2:

Metro:

Make no mistake, this isn’t easy, switch-your-faculties-off entertainment - it’s big, dark, impressively ambitious, dazzlingly executed entertainment that demands and repays your full attention.

This makes Inception seem about as straightforward as The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Holy Moly!:

But we also got the impression they (and by they we mean show-runner Steven Moffat) are keen to give Matt Smith’s Doctor significant new storylines of his own – free from the baggage of 907 years of past. And boy have they done that.
What we got was a dizzying mix of the very funny, the very scary, the surprisingly violent, the very mystifying and the ominous looming shadow of something that’s likely to be very upsetting indeed.

Den of Geek:

An opening adventure that’s quite brilliantly funny, narratively intricate, contains genuine jumps (it's exceptionally creepy at times), and sets a very, very high bar for what’s to follow.

I do appreciate that few come out of an early preview of Doctor Who saying it's rubbish. But this is the real deal: if you want proof that Britain can produce world-class science-fiction television, it’s right here. And it goes out to a family audience at Saturday teatime.

Lots of crazy stuff this season. I like how they are trying to give him his own enemies and adventures instead of rehashing classic who villains all the time.

Moffat is a godsend.

BBC AMERICA’s Doctor Who Premiere Screening with Cast - Hosted by Chris Hardwick – New York City

Doctor Who’s Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, Alex Kingston and Steven Moffat join Chris Hardwick (Nerdist, Web Soup) for a BBC AMERICA premiere screening and Q&A on Monday, April 11, 7:00 PM EST at the Village East Cinema in New York City.

BBC AMERICA has made this a FREE event for fans to come celebrate the first Doctor Who episodes ever filmed in America. Executive producers Piers Wenger and Beth Willis will also be in the house for the event.

*** PLEASE NOTE, AN RSVP DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION. SEATING IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS. DUE TO THE GREAT REACTION TO LAST YEAR’S EVENT, ADDITIONAL SEATING HAS BEEN ADDED. ***

Following a screening of the two-part season premiere - “The Impossible Astronaut” and “Day of the Moon” - Chris will lead a discussion and Q&A, which will be recorded live for a special Nerdist Podcast. The downloadable podcast will give those unable to attend, a front row seat to the event.

Omg jesus christ. Those reviews have somehow elevated my hype and excitement for this premier ABOVE a game of thrones which i never thought possible. I honestly wish I could hibernate and wake up in a week and a half from now.

I'm so hyped that I'm trying to to think about it. It's affecting my everyday duties.

Genuinely thinking of buying a 40" TV with Freeview HD for my bedroom so I can watch the series in all its glory and in perfect comfort. I always was a bit of a financial eejit though.

Did they ever chronicle the distress call the Doctor got at the end of the last season? I'm talking about the Egyptian Goddess attacking the space train.

Should I? I could probably do this for about $150 plus hotel by train from Montreal...very tempting...(I already have the time off anyways, lol)

Don't tempt me to make the trip from Toronto.

I don't think so. I was actually looking forward to seeing that.
