100,000,000% agreed. Not that I didn't like the rest of the human cast, but I was really hoping for him to be the main lead. I don't even think he had proper redemption. Dude had a lot to make up for and should've at least seen Godzilla take out the MUTO that caused his wife to die in that accident.

Everyone else aside from him and Watanabe are forgettable, and Watanabe is only memorable for "Godzira" (which caused the audience to burst into spontaneous laughter)..
It's fucking dumb, too. The second I realized I just heard all of his lines and scenes from the marketing I knew he wasn't going to live and that sucks. A lot of people don't think he would have a place in the story afterwards, but I don't care. Best actor and character and it sucks that they just sat him out like that.

I am actually doing much better than anticipated! I think my brain has just turned off to everything related to love. My workmate reckons I've been hurt so many times I just don't give a shit anymore. Sounds about right actually.
