Didn't really like Oblivion and Skyrim wasn't the best thing ever,
but Fallout 3 clicked with me.
New Vegas on the other hand wasn't that great.

Though you can tell this game series lacks polish.
Like glitches, bugs and lack of optimization everywhere.
Eveything you'd expect from a heavily marketed AAA title.

Fallout 3 has one of my favorite character customization modes simply by having a Latino/Hispanic base model.

It's the closet I have ever looked in a game,

In fact, the only Elder Scrolls game I genuinely like is Oblivion. Morrowind aged terribly. Daggerfall aged terribly. Arena aged terribly. Skyrim is trash and will age terribly.

Oblivion has aged terribly, but is still playable for me.

actually i can't say that in earnest. North Jersey (where I'm not from) smells terrible

The Elder Scrolls series needs a massive fucking overhaul for the combat next game.

But it probably won't get it because Bethesda will be too busy building a massive lifeless world instead. Quantity is better than quality I guess.

My friend had the best review for Oblivion.
He never got out of the initial sewer/prison.

He saw the 1st NPC and was like "They look like they have down syndrome."
Then stopped playing. :|

Skyrim was good but not GOTY material. It had better side quests and factions than Oblivion.

At least he didn't give up after an hour. :|

I think I went back to Mass Effect after that. The superior RPG

Everything was streamlined in Skyrim compared to Oblivion. They dumbed down absolutely everything. Nearly every side quest in Skyrim boils down to "go here and kill and/or retrieve x." They have no personality. And the guilds are just as bad.

Skyrim sucked balls. I did the first fetch quest in that tomb and went "I've done this in every single MMO I've ever fucking played. This is just single player mode." The TESO came out and it sucks donkey balls. And I couldn't get into Mass Effect 1. My favourite part was equipping Sheppard with some yellow suit and pretending I was Char from Char's Counterattack.

Don't judge me.

Not to mention, does Skyrim have anything resembling a side quest where you get sucked into a painting and have to use turpentine to kill evil painted trolls?

I think not and I rest my damn case.

At the end of the day at least we can all agree that Lightning Returns is in the top 10 for games released on the PS3/360.
