Honestly, pretty much that. Just work on your own shortcomings towards raiding instead of caring that much on buffs or whatever. Work on being more level headed and calm during encounters, learn the rotations of the fight, and work on how to plan your GCDs to sync with the fight.

pot kettle black etc. etc. Summoner buffs plz

Not nearly enough B4B.

Holmgang isn't Hallowed Ground.
Warriors don't need Hallowed Ground because we aren't wusses.

Sounds like you want the superiority of WAR's tank damage/MT abilities while being piss easy to play like PLD. However you "feel" the class is better one or another doesn't change anything, if you really think WAR are that much of an inferior MT then you probably are simply not playing it properly. And if that bothers you, then maybe a switch in main class is in order.
This times a million.

I don't main a tank, but personally I don't give a dang if I have to MT or OT any fight. I don't see a whole lot of difference. Both jobs do both roles very well. WAR just requires more "skill" to take bigger hits effectively.

Inner Beast isn't hard to manage. Let's not pretend like six seconds isn't an eternity in any fight where you need IB up. Issue is that many WAR are too slow to drop IB. That's not a problem with WAR, that's a problem with the player. I still agree with what Punchi said in mumble in that playing WAR is basically Flying By the Seat of Your Pants: The Job. It's for adrenaline junkies and part of the fun is not knowing if you can survive that next hit, and that exhilaration when you survive it. Holmgang is like Hallowed Ground on crack, since you won't die but you'll still take all of that damage and it feels pretty awesome to live through an attack you shouldn't have survived with a well-timed Holmgang. Nothing in the game currently feels as good as that.

If you want a piss easy mitigation tank, PLD is right over there. Pop your CDs in rotation and hit 1-2-3 and you're good to go. If people don't think WAR can MT, that's their issue. I never mind being an OT when I WAR because I get to drop crazy deeps out of Defiance. It's a win-win. I would still argue that IB + Vengeance is as good if not better than anything PLD can throw out that isn't Hallowed Ground (which again, is for wusses).

I'm just gonna state that EVEN IF you mis-time your IB, you have Infuriate, which is one of the best cooldowns in the game period. This isn't 2.0 anymore. WAR are legit and they're honestly perfectly fine. The problem is that they're just not for everyone.

The problem is that they're just not for everyone.

This could be applied to all jobs and raid roles in this game. Of course, WolvenOne focuses his issues on the one job and the OT role in which he spends the majority of his play-time in.

Dusted off my FFXIV collectors edition box (felt so ripped off back then) and figured I would try this new version. Read something about an invite a friend code, can someone PM one of those?

XIV ARR or XIV 1.0 collectors?
Every ARR account registered should get a friend code sent to them that allows a friend to join iirc. If they stick you get a baller mount.

I hope a fat dog is released in the future, all my money would go to trying to get it.

1.0, OG baby. My account is asking me to input a friend invite for a 14 day trial so I wanted to give that a shot. (They wiped my characters ; _ ; ... Lawn Mower is dead)

Odd... I think the 1.0 to ARR registration should still be honored iirc. I can't imagine them tossing out your character data.

So there is nothing I like better than some epic music to do battle to in a game. This game has some great tracks so I've given a careful listen to the ones that have stood out to me from what I have heard and rated them. I reckon these are the best tracks to do some boss slaying to in FF XIV

There are three honourable mentions that unfortunately didn't place but are great: this, this and this.

And the winners are:
at number 3. Some of the honourables may be a bit more flashy but this has such a great atmosphere, sense of urgency and get-down-to-business feel to it.
at number 2
And the winner is, it's no contest actually, number 1. This one is a true heavyweight among boss tracks.

Does anyone know of any good ones I might have missed? Or their own top three maybe?

I might note, and this isn't something that hasn't been said a billion times before. I'd go PLD, except it's core mechanic bores me to tears. Some of its utility mechanics are okay, but, 1 2 3 hit Cd for big hit, just isn't all that engaging. Maybe if they rework the class a bit in the expansion I'll move over, but, not right now.

Again, yes I know, old news, been said a million times before, etc etc.

The next time I have Coil, I'm going Archer and will cross-class Fracture (maybe four of them). We already have another Bard, so he can cover the songs. I'll also cross-class Swiftcast and Stoneskin for clutch Stoneskins.

Welp, that Heavensward hype got to me and I re-subbed. I feel overwhelmed right now! My brain is trying to scavenge for any decayed knowledge that I still have. I quit the game in early summer since i was burned out. I barely touched end-game, the last thing i did was titan extreme. I feel like I will get my bearings in a couple of days though. Gonna re-apply for the gaf guild. Also I was wondering, is the guild mumble used often? I was thinking it would be cool to chat with some gaffers.

Are we running at 7pm PST or central tonight? I got time zones mixed up. If it's CST I'm gonna be a bit late with a family thing. The static site is down for me.

Kind of a long shot but has anyone calculated how many Fallen Stars are needed to get all the event items not counting the consumables?

I've tried finding a list of what the vendors sell but I can't find it. All I can remember is the pet takes one red, blue and yellow one and that the tree costs 2 greens each. So that's 2 days worth of fallen stars already.

The trees are actually 9 green for all 3, then it's something like 8-10 for the housing stuff and another 3 for vanity gear. Never take the regular way with the quests though, after getting the pet just keep getting colors other than green and then flipping them on the vendor for 2 green each for 6 a day.

The minion is only one that takes something non/greed except the consumables I think. And you can trade in the non-green ones for 2green, so that's 6greens a day minimum.

Thanks for all the tips. So it looks like if I do the daily everyday from here until the end of the event I should be able to get everything I want including the furniture.

BTW, weren't we supposed to be getting a new Benchmark program around Fan Fest time? For testing out how the DX11 version ran on our rigs?

Anyone know if that got delayed, or are we still expecting it within the next few weeks?
