Guess I'll just start the free trial on PC while I wait for them to figure out how to process a payment...

Edit - Apparently even this might have been a mistake because it doesn't look I'll be able to upgrade out of the trial for 24 hours now. If I get the code today I'll probably just start a new S-E account I guess? Talk about a clusterfuck, it's some kind of battle just to give them money.

In fact I am seeing a lot of negative feedback on Steam, something about purchasing the Steam client not being compatible with an existing Square Enix account or something.

Is anyone here playing the Steam version with an account created for another platform, like PS4?

Yep. Created on PS3, upgraded to PS4, bought the Steam version later and use it infrequently (like when, say, PSN goes down.) Works just fine for me.

FFXIV does use a Mogstation login that's seperate from the SE login you set up to register codes that come in games, which could be some of the confusion, but beyond that I've had no issues with it and being able to buy stuff on Mogstation with Steam Wallet is pretty convenient.

Ok, thank you. I'm downloading the Steam trial version at the moment; I created a fresh SE account a couple of days ago for the PS4 trial client.

I have no idea how the various trial licenses interact with one another or with full platform licenses, to be honest. So that's an interesting situation.

Tried logging in on my PS3 (for the first time since April, strangely enough!), and had about 5GB of patch to download. It was an estimated 500 minutes at one point. Then my PS3 decided that my PS3 code hadn't been entered on PSN, and everything stopped.

So, I'm resigned to not capping Poetics for the first time since 2.4.

So, gonna go out on a limb and make some predictions about the battle of Ishgard.

We'll see super high level mobs spawning in Coerthas, and possibly elsewhere. Among these we'll see level 60 versions of Twintania, with a simplified attack pattern. These mobs will even spawn within safe zones like Camp Dragon head.

Ishgard, or parts of Ishgard, are likely to be opened up, despite the full opening being scheduled for expansion. This will be for story purposes, hard to see the battle of Ishgard not taking place in Ishgard.

I'm enjoying tank a lot more than I thought I would now that I feel more confident. I'm at the point where I can grind either Dzamael or AV and I am not happy. Last thing I want is people bitching for a DD speed run, and f AV.

When you're the tank, you dictate the pace. They don't like it, they can take the penalty.

Yesterday I joined a PF party and cleared Turn 9 for the first time on our third try.
I still didn't exactly know what to do during the final phase, but at least I didn't wipe the whole group with a divebomb.
Now for the Final Coil!

Level 60 mobs in safe zones? Will they be attacking people in those safe zones? Like...level 35 players too...?

Should I sacrifice main stat to meet the accuracy cap for some things? I'm i96 now and wanted to attempt T6 and some other stuff today but I noticed my ACC is pretty low. It's actually lower than the T5 recommendation but I already beat that and didn't seem to miss much. I don't think food alone will let me reach the caps.

I'm not sure if I'm meant to meld things to meet the caps but I feel pretty far away from them with mostly soldiery gear / primal accessories / one poetics piece.

Also lizard squad pls.

Statistically speaking, whenever you miss you do 0 damage. If you sacrifice a little bit of main stat to ensure accuracy, you will always do >0 damage. So, I mean...

Basically you want to be within spitting distance of accuracy caps for the most part. It's a constant struggle between max dps and the amount of obligatory accuracy you need to hit.

I thought I only had one Darklight accessory but I had on two for Monk so replacing those should raise it enough.

Outfitting two classes is hard. Tomes pls ;_;

I've actually made most of my tomes from doing hunts, but the first flood of them / first clear bonuses went to BRD gear so still have some MNK pieces left.

Also was trying to save some for Animus books (._. )

Just reapplied to the FC on Ultros.

Haven't played since around April or May and hoping to get back into the swing of things. Not sure if I want to continue with MNK yet or not (lvl 33).
