Pubbies don't understand what "go straight across" means.
Gosh, T9 with western players is such a pain in the butt.

I only do T9 with people I know. And even then at this point I think I'm over T9. Time to alt it up in Final Coil *-*.

Had a pretty bad DF story dungeon. Healer was scholar and didn't seem to know to handle that class yet. She kept yelling at me I wasn't helping with the healing but I'm a summoner. There is only so much I can do lol. We died 3 times at the boss and tank was about to ragequit. Had to resurrect the tank twice during the try we won haha.

Asking a DPS to help with healing a dungeon? Now I've heard it all. Big L-O-L. The healer should be pitching DPS, not the other way around.

Which dungeon was it? That Scholar seemed really terrible at her class.

To be honest, I'm not sure what dungeon actually requires the Scholar to be good to keep the tank(and only the tank) alive. Unless the tank is doing multiple packs pulls, there's little need to be healing at all other than DPS standing in aoes and what not. If the Scholar dies it's a different story but if they're alive, as long as their fairy is in range and they're maybe sometimes casting a heal on the tank, then he won't die.

Probably tomorrow. Have patience or play some other game if you can't wait.

Waiting isn't all that big a deal, I just wish they were a bit more predictable with things like patch trailers, patch notes, etc etc.

Not knowing when to expect these sorts of things, beyond the vague irregular timetables they've used in the past, bugs me a bit.

I can't believe how expensive the old phylo mats have gotten. Even though they're now just 1500 GC seals, they sell for over 10k easily, much more than when they were at 4000 seals.

I'm trying to get my CRP to 3 star and I've noticed that right now it's more expensive to become a 2 star crafter than a 4 star. Each HQ Treated Spruce Lumber sells for around 250k, so it's cheaper to buy the mats even at 10k, but there aren't enough since you need 45.

I've resorted to spamming low level fates for seals. I didn't know they gave out feeble light. 2000 FATES in highly populated areas might actually be the faster way to get Novus done (and get some damned seals in the process).

Eh, it's Square Enix. This is what they do and will continue to do.

Well, before they were commonly gotten from dungeon drops and not from seals. Not sure how much lower the seal cost has to go for them to be near those old prices.

I suppose the Ixali vendor was meant to provide another avenue for philo mats, but now that you have to get sealants with the same currency, there's not much point getting the philo mats that way now. And now people need GC seals for the Zodiac quest. Holy bottleneck, Batman. Would that mat drops in dungeons were in less stingy quantities.

FATEs are a pretty slow way to grind seals, though. GC turn-ins (requested items and special deliveries) might be better. On a related note, however, getting feeble light from FATEs while you're queueing for Duty Finder isn't so bad. :V

The problem is that they're also used in new recipes and you need so damned many to make one ingredient (9). And dungeons drop them 1 at a time, so that's fun as well.

Turning up equipment you get in dungeons is indeed the best way, while you're also capping poetics. Once you're capped though I'm not entirely sure. A dungeon will take you around 20-25 mins and you'll get on average I guess 1 piece of loot if you're lucky. Lots of useless mats in there and you have to actually win the roll. Those are about 1000 seals. But in that time in a place like say Costa del sol, you can easily do 10 fates, since it's usually full of people. That will net you way over 1000 seals guaranteed. You could also so leves while the fates spawn, but I don't know how many you would get at 50.

Then again I think spiritbonding is more profitable, but doesn't get you light. Do leves give light? Probably not. Anyhow it's an interesting idea.

Edit:

*peers at his nearly full wallet of GC Seals*

So, what Philo mats are you referring to, specifically.

Nearly all of them. Check MB though, for which sell faster.

Sometimes they get insane. A few days ago Coke went up to 20k. I was able to sell a few, then it went down to around 8k and now it's back at over 10k.

The ones more in demand I would say are Coke, that makes Darksteel Ingot (used in a few artisan off hands), Hardened Sap used in Treated Spruce Lumber (also used for artisan off hands) and Potash, used for Vanya Silk (which, you guessed it, is also used in the off hands).

Peacock Ore and Animal Fat are down, because it's easier to get Rose Gold Ingots and Hard Hippogryph Leather from desynth right now than to use the mats to make them.

I'll take around 30 Hardened Saps off your hands if you give me a decent price btw...

HM Primal Spam -> roll on drops -> turn in to GC, FATES in between runs seems like the best way to maximize light and seal returns. If you're running whatever's bright, most of the party doesn't wait for loot rolls so you should win the weapon pretty frequently.

Do you guys say hi or attempt to make some kind of conversation during dungeon runs? I always try to at least break ice, doesn't matter if it's speed run or not. It amazes me how anti-social people can be in DF.

yeah I always say hey and emote a couple times while people are standing around but some just don't want to be bothered.

I joined a Garuda HM run last night and by the time I could finish typing "hi" the tank had already pulled. didn't even have time to eat my food or start my buffs

Well, unless you just hit 50, you really shouldn't need food for Garuda HM. I mean yeah that's rude behavior and all, people really should hold their horses for a second and get a feel for the group. *Example HP, equipment, check for bonus, etc.*

Still don't worry about eating food for Ruda HM.

Fair enough. As for GC leves, the amount of seals you earn isn't affected by your level.

T9 is one of my my least favorite battles in the game so far. You have to go through so much bs just to get to the the last phase, which is packed with insta-kill mechanics that you need practice to get the feel for. Just the idea of teaching it to people on Fridays makes me exhausted.

That being said, help night this Friday starting around 9pm eastern on Ultros! Let's do some T9 eh?

Always. It's the best way to keep their attention away from your bad performance

"you're tanking in sword oath"

"i know, was just testing my dps, haha"

None of the mechanics in Phase 4 are instakill except for the wall.

I love Turn 9 but I don't love wiping to it.

I'd rather spam T4 than HM primals to be honest. 2 Pieces of loot you can roll on and a chance to get either a 200k allagan leather or 100k allagan silk. And they take around the same amount of time.

Queues aren't instant though, even for tanks.

Thanks!, good to know.

Wait, YOU are that one solitary guy they banned from the game!? o_O

Actually if I read that thing correctly, only 1 guys was temporarily banned, but a lot of people were permabanned as well.

Elementals tho. Double fire or double ice is insta death.

Cauterize seemingly consistently hits me for more HP than I have (because if there's a divebomb out, I'm eating it), but I think it's usually pretty close. Then knocks me into the wall anyway so.

A lot of time it's light farming, people just want to kill it quick to do it again, and again, and again, during the 2hours window. Garuda especially is the most efficient so the faster you start the faster you can kill another.

I generally don't bother, unless people say Hi then I say Hi. Otherwise I just do the buffs and wait for the tank to go pull. Quite often do EXDR without anyone talking the entire run, for most people involved, it's the 20-50-100th run of the dungeon, there's not much to say, and you just want to be done with it asap. If someone say they're new I'll take the time to type pointers for boss fights during the trash pulls and stuff and try to direct them during the fights or after a wipe if that happens, but I generally don't socialize with random DF people in dungeons or HM trials.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Well I finally caved in and bought the game, downloading now.

Pretty excited :)

When it comes time to start the actual subscription proper, think long and hard about who recruited you to the game. It was me, wasn't it? Be honest.

Double, yeah, but I wouldn't call that an instakill. If you screwed up a fire rotation you can recover.

Standing in the wrong spot for fire, standing in the party with thunder or standing In the wrong spot for divebombs might as well be. I suppose not technically but a majority of the time you are screwed in any of those situations.

If you have been Spiritbonding and have an excess amount of Water Crystals you can use lv 50 Botanist to Collect the mats for Madman's Whispering Wand crafted by the Alchemist. The nodes are 1pm - 5pm - 9pm. You can collect 25 each per hour, make 25 Wands and trade in for 15K seals.

I generated 581K seals to raise my new FC to Rank 6... I'm burnt!

This might just be because it's the last fight [and thus, is the newest for me], but Turn 13 is my favorite turn out of all of Bahamut's Coil. It's not irritating [such as the early part of Turn 9, as already mentioned], has great music, and explosions. Lots of explosions.

I look forward to running it every week. It's a shame it's all over so quickly, I'd love to stay and farm it. :/

Life after T13 sounds tough
It's not that bad. It gives me an opportunity to play the other games that I was neglecting when we were working through our first Turn 13 clear.

It's a good thing too, since Bloodborne is coming out soon [ish], and that will likely consume all of my free time. Well, all of my free time not being used by FFXIV, that is.

Fire-Ice? Divebomb'ed into the wall? Thunder?

May not be 1HKO, but they are pretty damn close. :C I really hate T9, really a poorly designed fight.

I think it's pretty well designed outside the dive bomb part. It's something you can only get away with the smaller group size content FF14 does for end game. That shit in 24 man? Now that would be poorly designed.
