Today, I let everyone know online and they were going to update you, asami, and v'rius once you logged in. Had something come up Sat (have a date that will be starting much earlier than I thought). Tried to get Sun in but NFL games.

You know, it kinda just hit me. 2.4 has been a complete and total bust. The new dungeons are boring. Snowcloak is just one white, icy tedious exersise, and the thought of doing another exdr just grates at me.
I can't stand the primal battles. They were fun the first 2 or three times, but they have gotten soooo bad. And Shiva is the worst. Basically 70% of her life is just the same shit. Over and over and over. I would rather have my eyeballs scooped out than do another primal.
Crafting is of course repetitive and grindy, but shit, I can't stand to do another macro for HQ twinthread, so then i can HQ silver brocades, so that i can desynth an artisan's needle into a mastercraft. So that i can have someone craft me something or another.
I really hope that 2.5's chocobo races are fun.

You control the rest of your neighborhood to look exactly like how you want it to?
Coil is only reason I personally log in. I know it's same for a decent amount of people in my group.
Everything else I do is towards that end. Like bother with zodiac relic. With that said, everything on patch week and a bit past that is an absolute blast. And I personally don't mind it that way either. Nice not to have to log in too much.

I don't care much about WoD, so 2.5 looks like a way bigger bust to me. At least 2.4 had NIN and coil.

If you aren't doing Coil, you could realistically experience all the content in a patch within a few weeks and just return for the next one.

If you can do all 6 max level Ixali dailies(lvl 15/18?), you can make about that much a week. The gathering dailies are easy since they only need a lvl 15-18 gatherer(although higher would be better so you don't aggro everything) and then crafting you need at most lvl 18 for them(although cross class abilities and extra cp make this much easier, so the higher the better). You need a crafter either way since you need all the turn in items to be hq, just it doesn't have to be anywhere close to max lvl to make them.
This has been the case for months now, sheesh. Old newz. GET GAF'D.
Curious to see what their plans are for hunts going forward.
Okay thanks. Looks like crafting/gathering is kind of required to make any serious dosh in this game. I have a few million from selling bits and pieces but the relic is going to clear me out. I'll look at getting these dailies in the diary since that seems like good money. Grafting/gathering is starting to feel a bit inevitable.
On another note, is there anyone here on any of the EU servers? Would love some intel on what they are like...

They've been doing things to draw people away from hunts since then so it seems unlikely they will repeat what they did in 2.3.

I am sure they will return to it with some tweaks once they get the chance. Seems odd they would just abandon it completely.
So you know how sometimes somebody will find an old container in the fridge and tell you "You have to smell this, it's disgusting!" And then, despite knowing it'll be gross and having no good reason to do it, you smell the container? And then for the rest of the day the back of your tongue tastes funny as a reminder of why you shouldn't do stupid crap like that?

If you use legacy controls, you can run right or left, though that's not really strafing but I think with autoface on cast it serves the same purpose?
On the Ixali daillies, you don't need fully leveled stuff I think, you need gatherers at like lvl 15ish or something and then need a decent crafting class leveled to hmm, I don't know really, but probably 50. Since most daillies actually block cross class skills though, those are irrelevant so you don't need everything at 50. 50 CUL seems to work fine for daillies but ymmv.
If you do the daillies, you get 6 oaknots a day, 42 a week, you trade in 8 of them for Ehcatl Sealants, so 5Sealants a week and a bit more. Sealants go for 220k during the week(tend to drop to 190k during weekends though), so that's 1.1million a week just doing that. Other than that, spiritbinding is still very profitable.

Tank'd the first two dungeons as a Marauder and was definitely running into situations where my TP was close to running out. Gonna have to work on that. And since I've saved up my soldierys and hunt seals, I managed to snag all the ilvl 100 tank gear/accessories. Those will be for my Marauder. Now if I can just get me a ilvl 100+ MRD weapon

You're most likely overpowering too much. Or worse, tomahawk. Both have insane TP costs and are incredibly inefficient if you're not using them correctly. Overpower is for initial aoe threat, tomahawk for initial pull/ranged single target threat, but shouldn't be used more than 1-3times per pull(tomahawk once on pull, overpower twice to get aoe threat, though sometimes a 3rd hit might be required if the pack is large enough).
If you do the single target rotation a lot, you shouldn't have too many TP issues. If you're pulling quickly though, you'll eventually have to take a small break. It's also useful to note that when doing dungeons and doing quick pulls, you can and probably should just stop using skills on the last mob to regen some TP if threat is already good enough from overpowers+whatever else you hit the mob. I often did that on MRD/WAR when lvling, just autoattack for a few ticks of TP so there wouldn't be downtime inbetween pulls. You can see your party's threat to your current target under their icons in the party window, there's small bars which shows aggro(yours should be full, and then the other people are less than full and pull aggro when they become full).
Another last but pretty crappy fix is to use Flash, but MRD/WAR mp pool is terrible so that only helps very slightly. Still if you have it and have free cross class slots, it's something. It has situational uses too, like to pick up adds that are too spread to hit with an overpower easily and stuff.

So I started playing it as part of the free trial on PS4 and really liked it, so said fuck it and bought it. Anyway, I have one complaint. The chocobo music. Nothing against it, I like the chocobo music, but I'm sick of hearing it. Is there a way to turn off the mount music? I can't seem to find one.

System Configuration, Sounds, turn off Play music when mounted. This will keep whatever's zone's music is playing rather than replace it with the mount music.
Menu →System Configuration →First Tab→Play music when mounted

Haha! Having a gil-level set to my character is awesome! I don't do anything spectacular, I post most of it on my blog on the Lodestone. Just yesterday I had a crafter ask me about gil-making strategies and I gave them 5 - 6 methods, they were ecstatic, asked me why I was giving away my secrets, but in all honesty all the info I gave is on a Forum in some fashion.
The question is really how dedicated are you? Do you have the patience to make 384 HQ Spruce Plywood from all NQ mats?
