I'd blame WoD for queue times before hunts at this point--WoD queues were basically constantly fast, it's long, and it seems like most people are running it multiple times. Plus the weekly forcing people back in to CT/ST.

Unlocking everything and doing a few runs of a few things also poetics capped me super early Wednesday, so I'd imagine a lot of people just aren't motivated to roulette right now.

I think I've invested over 10m into my house now, but it looks so good now! Especially the basement. It's very close to being totally done. If you guys are bored, go to The Goblet Ward 1 Plot 50 (Brimming Heart Subdistrict).

The new grandfather clock I got may drive you insane with it's ticking but I find it soothing haha.

What is up with DF queue times lately?

It's strange, last night a friend and I had a full party and were queue'd for WP hard for at least 8 minutes trying to "secure an instance" or whatever the last step it.

Solo tanking I still get quick queues, not insta though for sure. (non WoD) WoD is pretty bad, I agree.

Auto attack too good.

That assumes DPS are actually looking at the mobs. That alone is questionable.

WoD queue times are anything but fast if you're going as Tank, which I unfortunately need to do if I want that chest piece.

Aaaaaanyhow, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There needed to be a weekly limit on how many items you could upgrade per week through Allied Seals. I know people that already have most their Poetics pieces already upgraded, despite the fact that they've never gotten a Twine out of Coil.

That, or make Allied Seals a reward for Roulette, or PVP, or something. ANYTHING to get people to do instanced content beside WoD.

Just full queue with a group. Agree to have them pass you the tank body while you look at a wall on your BRD. It's the only sensible route.

Or, you know, it's the first week of a patch and no one cares about poetics since you can cap by scrolling down the patch notes and doing everything once. How about we wait for week 2 before claiming hunts killed the game again.
or they never did like I've been saying since forever but everyone needs a reason to complain.

In a few weeks Hunts will probably settle down, and things will get better, yes.

....makes for a painful handful of weeks though.

I've been full queueing every chance I've had, it's pretty much the only chance I have to get in there, (30 minute Tank queues, lol.)

Buuuut, I pretty much have to go on Tank. Every tank I've met that still needs something out of WoD also has their eye on that chest piece.

All I know is Excalibur has enough weirdness going on that they managed to sway GW to change its timer or something for hunts. I don't even really know how the GW tool works, I just tag along with a friend who hunts basically 24/7

The Hunt is fine IMO. Inly thing i wish that would happen is that SE keeps a close eye on things and adjusts monster hp like they do FATEs. Zerged last time down? Spawns harder and lasts longer the next. The system works well woth fates so i think Hunt mobs could use it too.

Its amazing how fast they melt though. Its a sight to behold.

Problem with increasing the HP, is that the hunts last even longer, more people port into the zone, and more server melting occurs. I see soooooo many people getting DCed during hunts it's not even funny.

They need to do something to spread out the load, and that means either limiting how lucrative hunts are, or offering similar rewards behind instanced content.

Strange I find Hunts so much more civilised now. Not that I do hunts actively. Only do so if one pops where I am and I ask for an invite. But it was chaos during 2.3. Now with the Hunt website and people having seemingly learned from 2.3, it seems calm in comparison

It's really hard to interpret the lack of coat/twine in WoD as drops right now as anyhing other than intentionally pushing people towards hunts. If anything, I'd have expected them to go the opposite route.

(And I remain totally convinced it's silly the tomestone is still coil-only.)

S ranks died faster in 2.3. I feel like people forget that.

In all fairness, it's not like we could see them in 2.3 to tell how fast they were dying.

Yeah. Like, I'm not really "mad" about the coat/twines being out of coil but I find it incredibly weird that it went Hunts first then WoD. Feels like they should have went Coil (lockout) then add in WoD (lockout) before adding in a non-lockout method in hunts. From everything said in interviews on the subject it sounds like this was how it was going to be and then ... well, patch day and oboy hunt twines!

Even then, I still think Hunts should have just been on a lock-out as well, if only to preserve the sanity of people going all-in 3000 seals per day.

(And I remain totally convinced it's silly the tomestone is still coil-only.)

Now that we see the new crafted weapons are as bad as they are, I guess they really do put this extra premium on the weapon slot when it comes to the three items.

In 2.3, Agrippa the Might reckt people, left and right, it was actually kinda funny.

Now he dies so fast that he doesn't even get the first set of mechanics off. I kinda doubt that they lasted longer across the board in 2.3.

At this rate I feel like I'm never going to clear Titan EX :'( lol. Every party I've joined for it has been awful, even if they've cleared it before :S. I've been able to clear Leviathan, Ramuh, and Shiva EX repeatedly with little issue. So frustrating and discouraging tbh X_X.

Yeah I was thinking twine and coats would have gotten added to WoD first instead of hunts but I also didn't expect them to really learn their lesson either!

Titan is probably still one of the least forgiving fights in this game, outside of certain Coil turns. Don't feel bad, really.

Thank you :) It's just hard not to get discouraged, I guess. I guess I should try logging on a bit earlier during the day and maybe starting a Party Finder instead of relying on the randomness of duty finder..

Which is weird because the tomestone drops in 11 and the twine doesn't show up until 12, so they're doing casual gear progression in reverse order. I guess they really didn't want people to have i130 weapons yet?

I'd overall rather they withheld twine until 2.51 and done coat/tomestones this patch if they wanted to keep i130 special. I mean, for selfish reasons, this way works out better for me, but in terms of how to best help people catch up they're doing it weird.

It's most likely this. Keep in mind that i115 -> i120 is a really small jump so that upgrade is fairly marginal for many classes. Especially since almost all of them have Accuracy stat allocations. Going i120 -> i130 in a slot is a bigger ugprade than the i115 -> i120 weapon for most classes for at least two slots so I think this ends up better overall for catching up than access to the weapon drop.

CT was such a shit show on the weekend. We wiped on literally every single boss. I didn't help that I didn't remember anything having only done it once.

It was fun to get hit by the final attack of the last boss and surviving with no issue. I guess they thought you'd never have more than 9999 HP at the time.

You know...
What colors do you guys have your text set to?
Also bright neon-green chat is like the worst fucking chat color.
I don't know why the sudden interest in this, it was a weird observation. >.>

I keep the chat box transparency real low so I like bright colors. It's what I'm used to from other games. Bright neon green is my FC chat color because that's the color guild chat always was for me in past MMOs. Group is bright blue, shout is bright red, tells are bright purple.. These are the colors that make sense in my head and it's very readable.

I generally had no interest at all in tanking until they revealed Dark Knight. I'm tempted.

Find myself slightly worried at the prospects of a third tank. Both PLD and WAR are basically the winners for most changes of skill sets in any jobs. WAR especially from 1.8 to 1.23 to ARR to its final version. It took fucking ages for them to balance both out even in ARR and only then it was due to basically homogenizing them. I want to see DRK, but good lord I hope they get it out the gate this time.

Yeah, I thought about this as well :(. I'm definitely a bit anxious about how the job mechanic itself is going to turn out.. But I was too excited about the idea of a third tank job to give it another thought LOL. I hope this means more people playing as tanks, because some of these ques even as a healer are getting rough :p

Not really, Brayflox is when WHMs get Cure II, which is not a spell you should spam, but because it has a bigger number, bad WHMs spam it, and they run out of mana. That's fairly standard in Brayflox. You need to explain to the WHM that he should be using Cure I, and only use Cure II if he has the proc that makes it free OR if he needs to heal A LOT quickly, like if the tank is at 20%. Cure II is extremely mana inefficient, but it has much higher healing potency for about the same cast time, so it's like an emergency heal, not a "spam this instead" heal. Most of the WHM healing in dungeons is Regen on the tank and Cure I every now and then.

What Scy said though, if it's the last boss, or well any boss, and you're not dodging stuff, then you're taking a lot of unnecessary damage. The tank has to dodge stuff too. Also you want to stagger defensive cooldowns, in general, to smooth damage spikes and reduce overall damage taken.

Cooldowns used, and I always dodge

Actually, funny story....the first time we did it, I idiotically got hit no less than 3 times by AoEs and we still won.
This second group? None, we wiped :/

Ah well, a new day!

People seem to automatically commend tanks in a lot of runs. My first keeper run I was new, and I got three commends over the guy giving tips on fights.

Of course they do, we're fucking tanks. You fuck everything up and still get a commendation as a tank just because. It's really weird.
Just roll with it and enjoy the free commend gear.
