That sucks.

I am doing the daily ones though because they add up once you do the math.

If you do the dailies for a week that's 448 seals, and they don't take that long to do. The only thing that annoys me is that the 20 seal ones are hidden behind fates so you have to afk camp their spawn point until they show up.

How much do you get for the A and S ranks?

60 for A's I believe and 100 for S.

Really? Considering the A and S ranks apparently require a group (or multiple) I expected them to be worth a lot more seals.

I guess they are expecting that you're going to get multiple A and S ranks per week if you are looking out for them.

I get the feeling you haven't witnessed many A and S rank spawns. Half the server tp's into the zone they spawn in and zerg them within a few minutes. I hunted for two days worth of playtime (like 10 hours) and got 3000 seals without a book drop.

I did the garbage-tier daily hunts for like 2 weeks before I got invited to a hunt linkshell and now I will never go back. You're absolutely wasting your time doing them. Even post-patch the amount of seals is not worth the time investment if you have access to A-trains which will net you 500+ seals in about 3 hours.

A's respawn every 3 hours ish, while S's are have a respawn of about 3 days and other conditions

Hunts have been ridiculous. On my server by the time you hear there's something up, it's pulled and half dead.

I got my Apocalypse finally though! Dyed it pastel pink. I bet the next step will require rare drops from S rank hunts.

I think I saw someone announce one in Mor Dhona once. But there are always a ton of people there so I didn't really notice anything out of the ordinary. I'll take your word for it though.

I don't have that luxury so my only choice is to grind out the dailies and/or hope that I'm in a zone when one spawns and someone decides to broadcast it over the zone chat.

Thanks for the info.

i do the garbage tier hunts when i'm near. that will be my only seal income until next cycle. i want to start out with as many as possible for next time. i only farmed 2k seals this time, didn't need more. hunts are garbage tier content. you don't want to spend time doing them.

You don't even need to be in a hunt LS. Go on pf and join a hunt party. They will tell you where to go. Or check the online tracker and start your own, searching the zones that are next due to pop.

For anyone who cares about hunts:

The most important thing, assuming you're not willing to resort to using *cough* 3rd party programs *cough*, is to get into a good hunt relay LS. Don't be one of the people who sits around and waits for calls either, help look for them and call them when you find them. After all if you find it, you're the first one there and you can't miss it. If everyone in the hunt relay LS is calling hunts, everyone else in the LS benefits. Hunting is very much a co-op activity, solo hunting rewards are basically nonexistent.

Being a good hunter on your server tends to get you into the hunt LSes, other hunters know you and you know them. It's a very odd form of social networking but sometimes to get into a good hunt LS but you have to be out there for people to know you. Nobody likes the guy who sits at the aetheryte and waits for the call and they don't typically get first on the list for invites either.

Don't be an asshole at hunts either. Everyone misses hunts sometimes, if you're late to one that's just how it goes. Nobody likes the guy who whines in shout chat about early pulls at every dead mark. Nobody likes the guy who always pulls early or trolls the hunts with fake calls. If you want to get blacklisted by all the hunters and never get into a hunt party or LS that's the best way to go about doing it.

I might consider the hunt party thing.

Is there any way to hide my FC tag? I still see the GAF blame on an almost daily basis in zone wide chat and I would rather not have to deal with getting blamed for random crap if possible since that might lead to getting kicked from groups.

T5 is the worst thing ever. People in my FC tried to help me clear it since they are all in T9+ but we keep getting destroyed :(

The timing for the divebomb dodge sure is hard to get.

This attitude has been going on for awhile and people are stuck in their ways, best to just ignore it.

lol. well it's a stigma since 2.3. Ask in FC chat to get into the gaf hunt ls

It's like the lolDRG stuff that goes around. People repeating things because they've heard other people repeat mixed in with some confirmation bias.

I will inquire about the GAF Hunt LS next time I'm online.

Turn 12 down for Ultros Giantbomb. Once we finally upped our DPS and pushed 4 Bennys we ended up clearing the rest of the fight in no time. On a side note I managed to do enough burst damage on the pull before our clear that I pulled the boss off the tank for a second. Seeing my Fire III's do 4k damage is delicious.

Are you on Ultros? Go to the hunt site and hang out in zones that are in window and watch party finder, or start your own. Hunts are a nuthouse right now so people are always making groups before the start of and during an A-train. While in a group and moving from zone to zone looking for hunts keep shouting for a hunt linkshell and you'll get one eventually.

Any tips or patterns for tanking, I was a DRG last time and at moment a lvl 22 GLD. I been doing sheild lob to pull enemies then flash 2x to keep mobs then go into pattern of fast blade -> savage or riot blade 2 x then flash again. I always keep losing a enemy sometimes who doesn't aggro to flash. Is it me or DPS positioning.

Have to spread your attacks around, remember to cycle through each enemy, giving it a good whack as you go. Of course as GLD, you're gonna struggle holding aggro on crowds until you get Shield Oath as PLD and a lot of dps aren't very courteous and go hog wild on whatever enemy they please.

And then there is always the dps or healers who get aggro and they go running down the hallway with the mob instead of bringing it to the tank.

I feel I've reached a ceiling. I'm stuck at the extreme battles and at T5 and I'm not progressing at all. People in FC aren't interested in doing those at all because they're mechanics heavy and I understand that they aren't very fun for them anymore.

The mog king extreme is particularly dreadful.

You on Ultros? There seemed to be a T5 train going last night.

At low levels, you're doing pretty much exactly what you're supposed to do. At 22 you get provoke, so if you lose something, you can voke/shield lob it and that's usually enough to hold it long enough to drop another flash.

Don't be afraid to stop your combo on an enemy to drop another flash. Be sure to cycle targets just to check aggro meters. Flash is your go-to aoe aggro pull until you hit 50 where you'll get another one. I wouldn't use Riot Blade because there's no enmity generation to it. Once you have a decent bit of aggro on the groups, you can drop Riot Blades to regen MP if it's pretty low. Otherwise, natural MP regen should be enough to get you from pull to pull.

Finally, yeah, what tigerkiddo said, once you feel comfortable, start dropping savage blades on different targets whose aggro are relatively high to drop it back down. Once you hit 26 you'll get Rage of Halone, and you'll be using Rage of Halone until... expansion? Probably past expansion.

Mog EX is terrible, banged away at it via the DF for an hour or two every day for two weeks or so until I eventually got it down. Though the music still haunts my dreams

What's people issue with Mog EX? It's probably the most approachable primal for newbies.

Ramuh EX probably is the hardest, I've seen many "farm" party fail at it.

Thanks guys I did Copperbell using what said and it went smoother so odd coming from DPS to tanking

It's boringly long, isn't challenging, forces you to stand there doing nothing at times and you can still wipe if you get a "unlucky" crit at the wrong time. It's just not fun to do. Not hard, but Garuda isn't hard either and is a lot better overall.

Mog EX requires actual party coordination to not kill a moogle before the others are ready, especially before the last Shin-Mogtetsuken which many parties will fail at if they have to waste time killing moogles instead of burning the King.

Ramuh EX actually requires more coordination still but you'll never get to Ramuh EX if you're stuck forever on Mog EX.

Three healer method on Ramuh EX is the way to go these days. I still wouldn't call it easy but as long as nobody takes orbs the tank needs and don't kill each other with tethers its pretty smooth sailing.

Maybe if you're doing it in a proper group, but while not particularly tough its quite easy to fuck up and requires more co-ordination than you're likely to get out a DF group. Its also a bit more random than the other primals which can lead to wipes which with DF groups generally leads to vote to abandon (which leads back into the long long DF queue for it). Levi EX is much more approachable for "newbies"

You just described the biggest problems with the fight, in addition to people overlapping circles, and lacking the DPS during add phase, and tanks overcharging constantly. It's a rough fight and I hate it. I only do it when someone in the fc needs a clear and even then it's iffy on if we win.

I actually kind of like it as long as I'm going with a competent group. Still salty about that one time I rolled a 1 on a Ramuh pony though. >_>

I was curious because I don't think my Fire III's break 4k and I'm better geared than you but judging from the video, I'm going to assume you did some rounding up because your raging strikes flare only crit for 3800.

My biggest tip for leveling GLD/PLD is spec into str until you ding 50. It will help immensely with your aggro generation, and you won't need the extra vit for tanking leveling dungeons. As for Flash, it has a bit of lag from where you fire off to where the enemies are. I like to pull with shield lob, run through the group and drop a flash once I'm in the middle of the pack. There is a little lag time so plan accordingly so you get everything.

It's a toss up with DPS. Often times if they're whacking something you haven't tagged for a while, they'll yoink it. Or they'll each attack a mob and make you fight for threat between different enemies. Either way don't get frustrated if you mess up, and don't worry about making mistakes. Have fun with it and learn what works best for you.

I made a video!
I just found out you can export directly from twitch to youtube. If you streamed in 60 FPS it even saves it that way! So nice. Makes me want to upgrade my computer for better recording quality.
