dance parties all night.

I always wanted Hyperion people to post on the subreddit before. Now, I'm not so sure.

I actually visited Tepe's back when he only had a single cottage room in another FC to his name, now he owns a full on mansion and dedicated free company. The ERP biz must pay the big bucks.

I remember seeing his advertisements on the party finder and innocently thinking he was just running a weekly friday night party for people to hang out at.

Then I found out what his "parties" really were.

It's always amusing to see their PF advertisements.

Oh wow I didn't notice the post had an image. Jesus. Maid cafe was creepy awkward, this is a whole 'nother level of creep.

It's funny because Tepe made some super serious post in one of the maid cafe threads along the lines of "I talked to my people, EXPECT A VISIT FROM TEPE TEPE" or some shit.

The fact that I joined a Shiva EX group in progress right as Diamond Dust goes of and then we beat show how much easier that fight is compared to Ramuh EX

So how do you Alexandrite fast these days? Roulettes seem fast enough at 2-3 pieces a day but still?

If you hate yourself, do FATEs. It's either feast or famine.

I did fates from 3 PM EST to about 10 PM EST and only managed to acquire about 7. Thankfully, that's all I needed to finish off my Novus.

I am literally and absolutely exhausted from all that grinding.

Edit:

If you don't hate yourself, grab yourself a Sol weapon (Or a poetics weapon if you are fortunate to be in final coil) and just do the Novus casually gaining 2 - 3 Alex a day depending on how much soldiery you have.

I've had coil cleared since the first week of release and since then i've only gotten two pieces of Dragoon loot. Where the hell did the put it? :(

I didn't think Lucrecia or CL cleared T13 in first week? Thought it was second week. Are you in either FC?

Lucrezia and CL both did it first week. DnT did on second.

I have DW on WHM and this close to Ironworks on SCH so I'm pretty sure I just hate myself.

Fates don't sound reasonable. Guess I'll just take it slow.

To be fair, despite it's adult theme a lot of people use it as a place to hang out for fun, and like to have a place to RP. Even when not running events there's still a healthy amount of people coming in and out expanding their RP stories and such separate from the ERP that takes place.

I think that a hunt pt is much faster way than fates if you're lucky.

Are there even more than 5 people RPing on Hyperion outside of your FC?

Absolutely, for example just this last week another FC had our group come over and cater to an event for them, it was suppose to be a casual RP event for them to get their feet wet with the concept. We had well over 40 visitors show up and take part.

Not to mention we wouldn't be running weekly events if nobody ever showed up.

20% light. Like this isn't bad at all tbh

The worst part is the fact that I feel like I should have gone full critical / det. I'll probably do it later.

Voidweave exists!

At this point I'm convinced that Halicarnassus is the most stressful HM dungeon boss because half the time the other DPS won't stop attacking her and it becomes a race to get the add down before she's pushed too far.

7/16 dungeon Atma, still waiting for my magical one-shot dungeon.

Okay, so today was the first ever day where I pretty much devoted 90% of my time to mining.

....I don't feel so well. D:

I mean, on the plus side I'm halfway toward getting my Foragers hat. Hurray?

(Clarification: it was fun for awhile, but spending several day cycles back to back to back going through Nodes is, a bit much. So I need to do this in slightly shorter bursts, I think.)

How are the hunts on Excal btw? Does the ts live?

Hunts on excal barely use the TS anymore. It is live, but it is no longer required with GW groups. I just joined an LS that pipes into chat when something pops and haven't bothered with TS since.

Good riddance.

Three of nine books complete. Not really close to done, but looking at the next part.

Do you need your relic equipped (sword and/or shield in my case) to receive Alexandrite from FATEs? I'm assuming it works like Atma in that regard.

Another, unrelated, question: what's the best approach to gathering classes who just hit 50? I got mining and fishing there, bought them some gear, didn't meld any materia, and then found my options were (unsurprisingly) pretty limited. Should I shell out a lot of gil on materia and then pay for the melds, or just slowly get crafting jobs high enough to do it myself? Or something else entirely?

Pretty sure there should be another Stone II in there somewhere.

You need a relic at animus stage or higher--slightly different from atma in that you can only get atma at the Zenith stage, but can get alex at any point after Animus.

if you really want to get into gathering, I'd highly suggest trying to get some Forager's gear if you can. It's shared by all gathering classes, so you only have to buy one set of melds to cover BTN/MIN/FSH. It is pricier than AF gear but saves armory chest space and materia money in the long run. Whatever you do, don't meld your hat if you can avoid it.

Failing that, maybe start with melding your accessories? Technically max melding fisher requires a seperate accessory set, but while getting started you can just use the same melded right side for everything.

You can either spiritbond for your own materia, or buy it, but you should be able to find somebody to meld for free. Just make sure to have the right carbonized matter and ask your FC--/shout in random cities will likely get people expecting tips. But it's like one button per meld so it's not exactly hard work.

Your first goal should be hitting the minimum gathering/perception stats (even wih food) for either HQ Umbral Rocks or HQ Silver Sovs. Rocks will be more consistent but require you to hit the node once an hour. Sovs can be fished up whenever but are way more rage-inducing. Gather those until you can afford the forager tool and hat (if mining I'd say hat first, if fishing I advocate rod first.)

Excellent, thanks for the reply. Useful as always.

What's a fair tip when asking FC folks to meld for you, generally speaking? I assume that's a thing that happens even within the FC (I'm part of Ultros GAF, just generally quiet).

Does that mean you're going to just spam Holy during bennus?
I don't think that will end well. Might have to use foe's for that to be a valid strategy.
