Final Fantasy XV Demo Previews/Impressions Thread

Exactly. People seem to think that this is the only area of the game, when they have been telling us straight up that this is a part of an area in the full game that is just one area of the entire game.

Kinda like, after the E3 2013 re-reveal, everyone was worried the game would be an uncharted-like corridor only game.

People should just chill out, enjoy and appreciate the news we're getting without worring too much about what hasn't been shown already.

Yeah its a bit ridiculous. And people saying oh its Final GTA or something like that just due to the car.... Like really? Just too many kneejerk reactions but thats the internet.

What in the world are you talking about? Where in the world did Inorigo even suggest that game design isn't about balance?

No one's saying that the game should play itself. You're probably the one who didn't read it correctly.
He's talking about the lock-on, I'm not talking about the lock-on, the first guy didn't talk about lock-on only...

And you're talking about whatever you're talking about lol.

Overreactions and paranoia smh wait until SE starts showing locations "I want to be surprised they're showing to much!" yadda yadda

I know perfectly well the first comment was. It's not about that. You're criticizing discussion on a game and accusing someone of something he didn't say.

You all of a sudden go from saying that Inorigo doesn't want game balancing (after he said he wants game balancing) to saying that Inorigo wants the game to play itself. What kind of tangent is that?

Yeah, but you're criticizing discussion on a game and accusing someone of something he didn't say.

When did I criticize discussion? My very first post was discussing about the game.

You are trying to argue about arguments, wtf?

You guys need to just chill out. Sheesh.

Sure, I don't even know what they're talking about either way.

I should stop caring so much about random posts.

You've made that very clear.

Please ignore my "random" posts from now on.

I just made this, the gif is too fast, and the beginning of it is choppy, if someone could clean it up/slow it down for me, I would appreciate it.

This. I'm personally very excited for Episode Duscae to be over, though. I'm ready for a new story trailer. If I'm satisfied, it'll be the last trailer I watch. Unfortunately we won't get any substantial story footage until E3, I'd assume.

Wow the xbone version looks properly hideous in the pics in the OP. I wonder if the PS4 version actually looks much different.

I deleted 2 unrelated frames and slow it down to 0.1 sec.

I think SE are putting way more effort into the PS4 version. They are trying to build a RPG player base on PS4 through Type Zero and FFX HD though the xbone is getting Type Zero as well. I cant imagine what SE is going to do once the splits for Type Zero are revealed. I feel bad for xbone users because they are getting the short end of the stick here but the PS4 is a considerably better platform for SE JRPG games to sell on.

There is also a much bigger user base of the PS4, especially in Japan, where the adoption rate for the PS4 has been much slower than the West but Xbone has been really suffering in Japan.

Here is hoping these sections are still in there.

Hyperbolized, overly assumption based rant

I'm sorry man, but this is an embarrassing post. You know as much as the rest of us about this game, virtually jack shit. Do you honestly believe we aren't going to see more fantasy based locations and interesting towns? Do you think the entire game is going to be a grassland with little outposts and one or two major cities? Good grief. Like others stated, this is like basing all the older FF games off of their first town or so. Like nearly every other game in existence, they are limiting how much they show us before the game comes out so they don't spoil everything and can present surprises as we play and also avoid potentially giving away plot points. You brought up Destiny, do you remember when all they showed us was Old Russia over and over again? How plain and boring that came off after a while? Now imagine thinking that was the only territory in the game because that's all Bungie revealed to us.

The only thing you can judge at this point are the combat mechanics and character design. Graphics too to a degree but even then, there will be plenty more polishing and affects added before launch. We know what the main group looks like, we have an idea of how the game is open-world and expansive and the level of graphics to expect. We also know how the combat goes along with some other details such as leveling up and add buffs through camping etc. Not much else. We don't know precisely how big the game is, how many towns there will be, how many varied environments there will be, the full size of the cast, anything but the most basic if storyline, etc. It's way too early to start accusing the game of lacking what the previous entries had and writing the game off for it. If you can't stand the game play that's something you can assess enough of now to make a decision but just about anything else comes off as ignorant and jumping the gun.

Notcis voice is crazy deep lol.

Noctis voice would fit Gladio better imo.
Prompto is annoying which is perfect cause it fits the character.
I don't mind ignis outside the fact he sounds way to old.
Noctis needs a softer spoken voice.

If they do that I think the english va would be good.. If not there's always JP va.

If only that was guaranteed

I think you guys are being way too paranoid. Just because the game's been focusing on a demo location for the past 5 months doesn't mean it's the only location in the game.

I haven't been following too closely... but no one is actually dumb enough to be worried about this right?

Well, people are basing the entire game off of this one area. They're not doing it deliberately but I think people forget that this is one small part of a larger world; one that isn't just going to be grasslands.

Meh FFXV is trying be be open world like Skyrim when I would have been perfectly fine with a similar iteration like FF13.

Let's not be too hasty. Originally they were going ffviii over world style...honestly don't want to see an ff with sectioned off areas like X or XIII.

I think a deep voice is fine, my problem is how gravely it sounds. It sounds like he's doing a bad Christian Bale Batman impression.

A smoother voice would suit him better. Also better voice direction overall would be much appreciated.

The more I hear the English VAs the more I get used to it and the better I think they are. But if they give me the option to use the Japanese VAs on the final game, I will never use the English audio. Glad the demo and Type-0 are shipping dual audio.

I saw the videos and I am impressed with the visuals. I wouldn't worry about framerate issues atm since it is an early demo.

I'm kind of worried about the lack of magic and other mechanics that are supposed to appear in the final game. I don't really want it to be "Feedback Fantasy XV", but I would like to at least be able to experience and discuss the major mechanics before everything is finalized. It's hard for me to just believe in their ability to handle the development of everything they're promising, so I really just want to see it.

It's going to be funny when they reveal the actor is actually British.

Ignis is supposed to be from a different part of the world supposedly, so that's both a good direction and also a story tidbit we didn't know.

Regardless, eloquence like "we're drifting into the deep end" from Prompto as he's walking into a scary looking cave does not sit well with me lol.

Omg! That "deep end" quote sounded so off!
