Forza 5 Showroom | New cars and details for Forza 5, ongoing reveals

And it's mostly old footage.
And the couple seconds of new stuff are probably still from the same raw captured footage anyway.

I mean.
You start marketing a game and produce a video by throwing RANDOM pieces of OLD footage together ? They don't even fit, they don't even match, it's just random clips put together.

There's no concept, no nothing.

They just got some guy and told him, "look, we just realised we need a commercial for this game. Here, this is the stuff we've got, go and do something with it.
No, we're not capturing new footage for the commercial.
We don't have the time for it (actually, point is the game looks worse than it used to, so use the old video lol!)"

Man, if it wasn't for the 2 seconds of never before seen closeups of the P1 i'd think it was put together by some random youtuber.
I can't believe they couldn't be arsed and used footage from the reveal and E3 trailer.

I hope it's a placeholder commercial waiting for the new trailer being shown this week.
(yes, i made that up)

You can't really blame them for using old footage given how the game looks now. I wonder how Prague is going to look in the release version.

I think its awesome for a tvspot.
The problem is that we are aware of every bit of footage and already know the layout of the track. Thats why it doesn't make any sense in the way it's edited.

I like it.

Wow dude. That's a...really negative reaction to what seems like a neat trailer. I liked it, and it has new footage that matches pieces of old footage. It looks good, and they're able to confirm it as real-time.

lol actual in-game footage
At this point, I think we all know what really means, or can take a look at the footage and realize what's a cutscene and what's actual gameplay.

For people who cant, these sorts of misleading trailers have been around for several generations. And if you are one of these people, you aren't going to notice all the tiny little nitpicks that you see brought up on here anyways.

Its pretty harmless. We know that Prague is their showcase track, so of course they're going to use it in a commercial, too.

Bonus comment: Gotta love a certain regular basher in here trying to imply some sort of downgrade, though(and no, I don't mean you Xanadu!, you've been quite reasonable lately).

so, do you have anything more to add my friend? :D

well.. yeah... you know, at least in t10's computers, the game still looks that good or even better. so, when then inevitable pc port comes, everybody gets to play the best version than this downgraded pos. right?

One of these statements is truth, the other is not.

Seriously, even the latest Spa footage, as great as that looked, looks NOTHING close to what we see in this "actual in-game footage".

My assumption is replay mode, which is consistent with what they've shown off for previous games in these style promotions. Are you saying we have reason to think it's pre-rendered? It looks like very carefully chosen moments that look the best.

So do we know when we can expect the news/reveals? I need some good news after all that stuff came out yesterday about the UI.

Since we can see shader shimmering and the limitations of the reflection detail in the extreme up-close shot, that's why I'm willing to entertain these being (selectively chosen) clips from in-game replay footage. The smoke is definitely "Forza" smoke, just zoomed close enough to diminish the way it only exists as puffs. Does that assessment seem off-base to anyone?

It looks realtime, that I'm not doubting.
But we've seen how AI cars drop in polycount in game, and even the player's car loses some parts and details (engine etc).
Not to mention IQ.

Game looks good enough, but I'm not sure how it compares to old Prague footage.
Well find out

Yeah, that's the thing. They are all in the super high poly mode and all their best "homespace" shaders are loaded.

Then again, maybe stupidly high poly models and high quality shaders kick in during replays. Doubt it, but it's the only instance where you "might" notice anyway.

Can't wait for Forza Vista. Awesome that you can tune the cars from it.

Good to know.

Not a popular opinion here I know - but I was one of those who got every bit of Forza DLC.

I know, I know, I'm part of the problem. But then given how much I play Forza (and would with GT if it got its act back together) it is very good value for money entertainment.

I'm still playing and enjoying Forza 4 - and I still play it more than new games today. So spread over the months since release it's a bargain.

just like each car that comes on disc in Forza 5, every add-on car will feature a full Forzavista experience. Walk around the car, check out the interior, start up and rev the engine

Yep !

Still unsure forzavista here still means being able to check the engine, especially now that it's confirmed monthly dlc will have 10 cars each.

(also, i wonder how many of those are returning FM4 cars :p)

Fantastic news! Turn10 listened to their fans and gave us another season pass of cars. /sarcasm

More tracks, that's the only thing I'll give money for.

This is by no means all we have planned for this week, but thought you guys/gals might find it of interest.

http://forzamotorsport.net/en-US/news/Forza_Motorsport_5_Car_Pass

Nice, but how about a track pass? I mean, we are already getting a lot of cars, but if you guys would bundle 10 cars and 1 new track as a nice little package, I am sure that almost every Forza 5 owner would buy it hands down.

Love the focus on cars, but you guys need to focus on tracks/environments etc.

Look for more details on the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass in the near future, as well as news of a very special inclusion in the first add-on pack for Forza Motorsport 5.
It's going to be the Halo 5 Warthog.

Except this time it's drivable.

Good to know that car packs will still have ten cars, hopefully the price isn't too inflated due to Forzavista. My bet for the special inclusion of the first pack is the LaFerrari.

I think everyone is waiting on a Track Pass now...

It certainly wouldn't surprise me. A lot of people are going to buy whatever pack it shows up in, (myself included).

As for a Track Pass, I'm skeptical given that each of the last 3 games had less track DLC than its predecessor, (with none for FM4), but they couldn't possibly include all those SmartGeometrics scans on day one, right?

FM5 easily has the best track line up to date so I really don't think we need to worry too much abouttrack DLC. Since we are only getting little over 200 cars, car DLC is really important.

You can never have too many tracks.

Plus adding just two or three new ones would add so much longevity to the game.

Interesting you paint, tune, and use forzavista in the same place. Like each car has a hub where you can interact with it.

As far as dlc goes, I thought the pass for forza4 was a decent value, relatively. I am in for a pass on this one. Track dlc though... It needs to be better integrated into the game.
