Looks awesome! :D As GaimeGuy mentioned, I still have some catching up to do, but I'm anxious to watch more, since I've still only read the first chapter of the manga. (Hopefully my Japanese has improved enough over the past five months or so, thus making reading the manga a little easier than it was when I read the first chapter.) :lol

you know what? Fuck Mei and Xiao Mei. They are the most pointless characters in the entire FMA story (okay, maybe aside from Fuery), and I wouldn't mind if they had been cut altogether from Brotherhood

You could also read it in english.

Ep. 15 was great, though too bad they cut Barry's screen time - he'll get more though.

Fights with the Xing crew were very fast-paced and a lot of fun.

Scar nearly succumbing to his need to pet all things that are 'cute' (in this case, Shao May) was great - Yoki was funny as usual.

Ling was very cool, as were LanFan and Fu.

I definitely like the new OP & ED.

I know, but I'm trying to utilize my various pop culture interests as learning tools for improving my paltry linguistic skills--or lack thereof. =/ It will take a lot longer to complete, certainly, but I think it will prove a boon in the long run.

Ep 15 was very funny.

Is there any way to legally stream this in Ireland? I'd rather not have to use Hotspot Shield to watch on the Funimation site (If that even works) but I will if that's my only option.

I'd usually just watch a Fansub but that appears to of stopped (Or being delayed massively) this week (No 720p :( )

I'm happy now. 14+ has been good so far, especially the new material. It's probably because with the new material, you can't compare it to the original anime series, which eclipses this one in terms of quality in many ways.

Good stuff. I'm satisfied with how episode 15 turned out, and I'm looking forward to more with anticipation instead of iffyness/dread.

I'm someone who has never read the manga and I was a fan of the old show. That being said, I LOVE this new series a lot. Please tell me it gets really ****ed up!

OMG they're making new FMA episodes?! holy shit this is my favorite anime! I apologize for being several months late on this, but I had to express my surprise and happiness.

I hope adult swim gets on this STAT.

I watched the episode a couple hours ago. It was pretty good. Nice to finally see the Xing crew animated.

Poor May. She's got such a bad image for Ed in her mind. :lol

You don't have to wait for Adult Swim. FUNimation has it streaming on their website as well as on Youtube for free. Ep15 just went up.

...... it's not "new episodes." It's a new series that follows the manga more closely.

The first anime used some things from the first ~30 chapters of the manga, but it skipped over some parts, heavily modified others, and added a lot of original content. Nothing pas the Greed fight is in the manga at all, and there are several charactres who were completely different or non-existant throughout the first anime as compared to the manga.

Treat it as a new series, but with many characters you already know and love, and with the first ~10-15 episodes being somewhat of a retread :)

I think I must have missed something.

Who is the guy that is hanging around with Scar?

That's Yoki. He was the guy in charge of the mining town. He's the one that Ed scammed. They skipped that in Brotherhood, but it was covered in the original series. One of Mustang's men make a quick mention of him in one of the earlier episodes.

ok, I remember him from the original now. How did he meet up with Scar? Mutual hate of the military?

You know the Ishvarite village that nursed Scar back to health after his fight with Lust and Gluttony? Yoki was taken in as a refugee by them after losing his military rank (after Ed ousted him for being corrupt as hell).

Yoki saw Scar and tried to turn him in to the military (by hiring two thugs to take care of Scar) in order to get back in favor with the brass, and restore his rank/power/money. Scar took care of the thugs, of course.

The Ishvarites banished Yoki for trying to turn in one of their own kind to the military, and they banished Scar for his murderous ways (Well, Scar also left of his own accord because he didn't want the military to involve other ishvarites in their search for him).

Yoki decided to tag along with Scar since he has nowhere else to go to :lol

ep 16 should be airing in ~7.5 hours in japan. Should be interesting to see how BONES handles this portion of the story.

Just saw episode 15.

I like it as much as I did the other episodes. One small, small issue, though.

Considering they kept the correct spelling of Xing, Lan Fan, Fu, and Xerxes intact... why the hell did they transliterate Xiao Mei and Mei Chang's names?

by the way, Iwas wondering if anyone could make me a gif of (episode 14 spoilers)
The sequence where Bradley stabs Greed with 4 swords, one by one.. It's quite a beauty of animation pulled off in ~2-3 seconds.

Give me a bit, I'll see if VLC doesn't kill my cpu while taking screencaps.

EDIT: Gonna use another program to cut the specific clip. Then take caps.

Full Sequence, Ep 14 Fight
Shorter Variant, Ep 14 Fight

Does anyone know of any good free video converting software, like Gom Encoder, in that it can take a specific part of a video and save it as a clip. I'll redo the GIF's also.

Them not finding out about
Hughes death
through the newspaper kills it for me, hearing it from Ross just makes it worse.

I've spent the last day or two just rewatching episodes 1-15 to see how things flow together, while trying to keep all my criticisms and comparisons of t he episodes with the manga out of consideration, and, well, the series works really well I would say.

I just got through Separate Ways. On to Rush Valley.

PS: Megumi Takamoto is absolutely amazing as Winry Rockbell :lol

Just watched episode 16. Really emotional and sad, so damn sad, almost brought me to tears. I have to say, they managed this one perfectly. As much as I love the comedic interludes, it's good that there was just a small bit in the beginning, before the Brothers and Winry find out about
Hughes death
.

Okay. I have a friend who has never seen the series and I can't decide whether she would like this one better or the original.

I haven't seen too many episodes of this version just because I was thinking of watching it with her.

So which one should I introduce her to?

The new one (plus some of the earlier episodes of the first series that are actually based on the manga yet not in the new series).

Okay wow, episode 16 was really well done. A wonderful adaptation that shifted events around a bit for greater emotional and dramatic impact for the TV format.

I like how they devoted most of the episode to them finding out about Hughes. Although he was only a secondary character, Hughes was definitely a memorable one.

On a related note. Finally caught up on V. 21-22 of FMA and boy is it going to be an epic finish. I can't remember the last time I was this excited waiting for a manga release.

memorable and important because his death springs mustang, his best friend, into action. Mustang is basically the 3rd main character of Full Metal Alchemist.

just watched ep15

i'm digging this more flesh out universe of FMA. I hope they explore more of the neighboring countries and the Alchemy specialty

ep16

great episode. The brothers finding out Hughe's was an awesome scene, and the date part. I thought it was just going to be an extra, but...
I like the 1st OP and Credits music.

Btw., through the whole episode I feared that
Sheska would be next on the death list. Here's hoping that not to many of Mustangs companions bite the dust. They're a likable bunch.

Enjoyed ep. 16.

Changing around how Hughes' fate was revealed worked really well and I enjoyed the condensed version of Roy & Alex's conversation - might as well save that for later.

There were a few things that stuck out: Havoc finally looking proportional, Lust's lips looking a bit...off, and Hawkeye's eyes being ginormous for a few frames but overall, the episode was well-done.

So stoked for ep. 17 :D

@GaimeGuy

There are times though that I think Roy & Al swap spots for #2 & #3 main character. :lol
