What was the current hypothesis for Jon's parentage again? I forgot.

Son of Rhaegar Targaryan (son of the Mad King) and Lyanna Stark (sister of Ned Stark).

So Daenerys would be his.... aunt?

Found this picture which visualizes this thing:

Does anyone think the Clegane Bowl will actually happen? I'm just not sure how The Hound and The Mountain will cross paths now with so much other shit happening.

Since Jon is not really Ned Stark's son, who should be the real King/Queen in the North?

Bran or Sansa?

Sansa is the oldest, but does the title of Guardian of the North go to a son?

I would think Bran would decline cause he's the three eyed raven now and has three eyed raven duties. Whatever they are.

Sansa can be the Warden while Jon marries Auntie Dany and becomes King of the Seven Kingdom.

Yeah, even if technically he would be king by lineage he'd give it to Dany (assuming everyone lives). I wonder how they're going to find out about the relation, will it be Bran or is Jon going to be able to command a dragon or some shit.

So is Varys a spy for Cerci? It was pretty convenient that uncle knew right where they were in a vast ocean and knew who was on board.

If he was, he'd be the worst spy since he kept giving Dany a ton of stuff she wouldn't have otherwise.

Um bigger boy name brand pants?

But it will be interesting to see how he cements with Dany cause if he's the King of the North, how can he bend he knee? It would mean submission, and I'm sure the North will remember that.

the north are like elephants arent they?

well i dont know, i dont want him to bend over that whiny bitch, but i guess he would whatever he needs to get the dragonglass

If the sex scenes are done to arouse the audience, then they're not really there to tell the story. People want to talk about bad writing... recall the sex scenes from the first season...
They can be both. They're often not both, but it's possible.

The Starks did it before when faced with dragons and the people of the North didn't seem to hold it against them. Still, it could be a problem in the short term. Jon has to keep the North together until they can see the threat of the undead army for themselves.

oh, yeah i remember that. fuck that shit. what were they hoping to do with that? get us to think the sandsnakes are badass? get us to like them? that scene showed me that they're nothing more than coldhearted, bloodthirsty sociopaths. they're nothing like their father.
What's wrong with pleasing the viewer every once in a while? I agree the scene dragging on for too long, but I had no issue with the direction they went with other than that.

You'd hate Spartacus.
It looks and feels like a lack of decency. It pleases me to see that GW & and Missandei get to fulfill their love for one another but knowing their intentions on showing off more skin than needed for the narrative doesn't give me satisfaction.
I want the season finale to have Colossal Titan level of Army Of The Dead appear and punch a hole into the wall and every Night's Watch be like :O and then died to the debris.

god...there's not much left to the night's watch anyway but if someone like this happens doesn't that mean all the wildlings will die too? so much for Jon trying to save them
Understand you completely. I feel like a lot of these scenes are there completely for fanfare. We can go back to the dany debate about how she will not do nude scenes anymore. Also agree with you about how fans post/comment over the internet and are just waiting to see sansa or whoever else naked..but its the internet and that mindset will probably never change.

Atleast it wasnt all missandei and they did show gw aswell. It was probably the most intimate scene i have ever witnessed from a tv show.
Word, I agree also that the scene with Missandei wasn't just an excuse for eye candy but it was also some genuine intimacy; I've enjoyed the budding romance between the two characters. I also only recently learned that Emilia decided to stop doing nude scenes, that's interesting how she changed her views
No, by that I mean who gives a shit if someone says this show is nothing more than porn? If you enjoy the show, you shouldn't let others' thoughts bother you.
The people making these criticisms can be anyone from fans like me who have a distaste for the softcore porn all the way to straight up haters of the show, but this criticism does not come from nothing.
Sucks to be those people, though really, if they're that upset about nudity and sex on TV, they probably wouldn't have made it to season 7. Wasn't there a scene in the very first season with some dude watching another dude getting off watching two people fucking? I mean come on. It might be time to get over it.
It also sucks for people like me who love the show and have to sit through the nudity. I'm not gonna get over it if they keep on doing it; I'm only going to further get disappointed by it every time.
Of course not, though my wife was (jokingly) upset that they didn't show what was going on downtown with Grey Worm. I was perfectly fine with just the ass shot. :p
Yeah, I probably would've been more okay with it if they ended with the ass shot too
Again, who cares? If those people are that obsessed with seeing boobs, then so be it. To each their own.
I do! If boobs are what you look forward to when watching Tv, why the hell are you bothering to watch Tv? (not you particularly, people like that)
It can do both, champ. ;)

For example, seeing Melisandre disrobe can both tell a story of her trying to seduce Jon Snow, and at the same time get the viewer all hot and bothered.
I'll agree with you halfway, Melisandre disrobing trying to seduce Jon does tell a story, yeah, but putting all her goods on camera doesn't add to the story, it just adds to the eye candy. Like that scene of her in the tub with her breasts sticking out; it is regrettable that HBO exercises their freedom to use nudity as it does not enhance their storytelling at all in my opinion.

I love this show a lot, I just don't love everything about it.

yes because ned stark brought him from the war & afaik his marriage with catelying happened during the rebellion to unite the starks & tullys?

There's at most a few months between them. I always thought Robb was first, because I have it as:
Catelyn engaged to Brandon
Brandon dies in KL with his father
Rebellion kicks off
Ned gets back to WF and calls the banners
Marries and beds Cat
Off to war
War
war
war
War ending, Tower of Joy happens.

But then Rhagear died at the Battle of the Ruby Ford, so he had to have got with Lyanna long enough before that to make it 9 months when Ned shows up to get her. So it depends how long the rebellion went on for, since she seemed to give birth right before Tower of Joy event happens.

The Starks did it before when faced with dragons and the people of the North didn't seem to hold it against them. Still, it could be a problem in the short term. Jon has to keep the North together until they can see the threat of the undead army for themselves.

The DVD extra on the King who Knelt is pretty awesome. His lack of hubris strikes me very much as a Jon/Ned figure.

So Cersei is the rightful heir to the throne now, right? Since she's married to Robert and all her children are dead along with Margaery. If the info were public, would Gendry the rightful heir? Or does him being a bastard invalidate him?

If Stannis or Renly were still alive after Tommen died, Cersei would still have been the rightful heir over them, correct?

on westeros men are more than women, so anyone with a pennis and barateon blood would be more rightful than cersei

Some people say Cersei stole the throne but I haven't seen anyone say how exactly. I think the lineage is so fucked right now that she might be the rightful heir do to her connection to her husband and sons, but who knows.

[edit]

The only other person might be Jaimie but are former queens considered lower tier than uncles of kings by marriage?

I didn't know so much people hate the sand snakes lol.

My only real problem with them and Oberyn was the silly cliche generic brown person accent (even though they ain't very brown if at all). If they were going for Hispanic, they failed miserably. Other than that, I liked them.

Off topic: You have a fantastic username. I fucking love pancakes. lol

No, the King's wife would not be the next in line ahead of the King's brothers. This covers it in exhaustive detail.

Correct.

And all the Stark children would be his cousins.

Yep. By Westerosi standards, Jon & Daenerys would be looked badly due to being Aunt/Nephew. They'd be totally cool with him marrying Sansa or Arya though since cousins are accepted. Tywin actually married his cousin in fact.
