best ToC page ever? best ToC page ever

So unless I screwed up my math, there are 8.7 million copies of Attack on Titan sitting in stores bookshelves yet to be sold. Wonder what sort of ratios of print:sold other popular manga have.

I wonder how off they is be i know for some DVD \ Blu ray shows they is be way off the amount of copies sold .
Still they the best we have but manga is sold in so many places must be hard to track .

It's quite normal that Mangas have a different shelf life than games or other disc based mediums. The price of a Manga is low enough, so there really isn't a big used market and people still buy new volumes years after the release. Publishers can overship without a problem. OP ships 4 million per volume, but sells "only" 3 of that until it's out of the charts. Mangas are long sellers. If a Manga leaves the charts with 150k sold, it probably still reaches sales of about 250-300k in the long run.

... wut.

That was so far, even in a series filled with dumb over explained power ups, the dumbest over explained power up I have ever read.

I say at the point who give a shit most of the fan base don't read there manga weekly any way .
So they don't see things they same way as others who read weekly that goes for most series IMO .

Well, I guess I can't exactly respond to a "who gives a shit?" response now, can I? Hahaha.

I have this distinct feeling that he just ran out of ideas on how to give Toriko a power-up, hahaha.

WHAO.

WHAO!

Ken getting straight up gangsta.

I really wonder how he's going to deal with the eventual powerups in the gourmet world. :p

Maybe toriko can now eat time.

Man, I just have no idea.

I mean, we already get this far and Toriko hasn't even really explored Gourmet World yet. I just hope Toriko can still survive long enough for the mangaka to dabble in that setting. Should be amazing.

The way this series manages to juggle between so many different tonal themes and have them all work really blows my mind. The first chapter starts out with this treasure hunt thanks to Hotori dragging her friends along with her to an old rural town with some really creepy and watchful inhabitants. It seems like they're scheming something really insidious at first until it turns out they're really just people concerned with their precious town dying and are struggling to find ways in keeping it relevant. They look to tourism as a way but they simply can't stop keeping an eye on them to the point where their unwilling town mayor tells them to cut it out as even he understands their concerns and hopes.

With stuff like that, Sanada remembering his mother's funeral, and the quirky friendship between Takeru and Eri aka "one of this filthy girls", it really manages to feel so funny and heartfelt at the same time.

This really does just keep on getting better and better with each and every volume. Amazing.

Sooo........ I don't know what manner of devilry possessed me to actually try reading Prince of Tennis again. Probably a lack of mangas about Tennis maybe, I dunno.

...I just... I just couldn't do it though. After reading for a few chapters, knowing how it's gonna end my mind just rebelled forcing me to abandon it altogether.

Hot damn, in retrospect I probably hate this manga more than I hate KNIM, GE, or 20th Century Boys.

Maybe you should start reading Smash then, which is based on the superior sport badminton.

I've never read smash. :p Just got curious when reading your post if there was any badminton mangas.

Is it because it is unrealistic as hell? I didn't like PoT, because they didn't even lose once, so it became formulaic after a while. The unrealism didn't bother me that much though.

Beelzebub 206

Man the fights are boring. The only good part was Oga fooling around.

And they speak without any knowledge. They just throw words. I remember when Tousen died episode, batdan said that Tousen should have had development, and i was thinking what, Tousen has developed plenty, and it´s stated very obviously in the manga, but hey some people want to shit on things to feel part of the group, which is sad.

I think Tousen could have had a bit more time given to him, what was it, just 1.5 chps dedicared to quickly detailing his history, but no time about his deeds as a soul reaper or even entry into the academy.

DB chapters were shorter because it started out as a gag manga.
That sounds likely, yes, as it was the same for Dr. Slump. But the last arc of Dragon Ball has even shorter episodes than usual for the series (and the fact it wasn't quite a gag manga at that point made it stand out all the more).

They apparently fused the chapters into long ones for the volumes.
Yeah, that was relatively common practice, back then. Not so much now.

Beelzebub

Lucifer vs. Beelzebub. It´s going to be fun, hopefully. I know how the fights in this manga go. I hope it´s like Tojo vs. Oga.

We know everything we need to know about Tousen. He´s really fleshed out, from his friend to him joining Aizen, to shinigami hate, to his own understanding of justice, and zapmakto philosophy.

I always wondered how you read all these web manhwa.

Haha, i find these web manwha really enjoyable, and they fill the void until Wednesday :p

Imo page counts do not really matter that much in Mangas. It's more important how the panels are filled and how long you can squeeze out of a chapter as a reader. DB has 13-14 pages a chapter, but it is really filled with content and I need about 4 minutes to read one, that's pretty standard I think. Bleach for example has consistently 17-18 pages, but takes like 2 minutes to read. Then there are series like Negima, which has about 19 pages a chapter and takes a good 7-8 minutes to read, even up to 10 before it turned into a battle manga.

So it's a mystery power up

If I perceive it to be that way then that's what it is. At least that's what I got out of these shenanigans.

Everyone expected that but poor Furuichi. I hope there will be some modification to the "Oga gets his ass kicked -> thus begins a new training arc" formula.

Nobunaga no Chef 1-7

Huh, this is actually a really interesting series. It's a fairly weird premise, what with a time-traveling chef that eventually ends up serving Oda Nobunaga as his personal Chef. It's pretty educational when it comes to not only warring states history, but also food as it's filled to the brim with trivia.

This also really puts Shokugeki no Soma's food porn to shame, I can almost smell the food from each and every panel thanks to just how good they look. *drools*

This is really really good. Not only does the food look fantastic but the rest of the art is great as well. I only have a very basic understanding of Japanese history but this series is presented in way that I can enjoy it without knowing every detail of the warring states history. If I wasn't so tired I would have caught up straight away.
