Metroid Prime Federation Force Announced (Next Level, 3DS, 4 Player, Mission Based)

Goddamnn. Well, I can't say I'm surprised. Nintendo crushes dreams every year at E3. Not sure why we get our hopes up for anything outside the obvious.

As soon as it was revealed I couldn't help but laugh.

..but hey! Wind Waker is popular now, maybe people will warm up to this colourful, chibi, non-Samus Metroid spinoff too!

Honestly about the game itself; at first I was like "eh really?" but it's Next Level Games, those guys are cool.

Edit: the trailer did mention "game in development" guys. Revealing Nintendo games for the first time has a cycle.

If the next main Metroid is an NX launch title, I dont mind.

I'm just so fucking thirsty for a Metroid. 2D, 3D, Other M 2, anything. Fuck man.

Just not these eShop games.

both have been confirmed to be online. Even listed on their e3.nintendo.com site

That's good news.

I still say I wouldn't assume it. It's Nintendo, a company which normally has shied away from online in the past -- I'd want that exact confirmation.

There were other Metroid games coming out when Prime Pinball came out. Fed Forces is pretty much it for this franchise for the foreseeable future.

OK and I suppose Animal Crossing is dead too, what with two spin-offs being shown today. All we know is that a 'true' Metroid will not be released between now and Spring 2016.

I have to admit I hate the visuals for this game, I guess being a co-op game means concessions have to be made. Both environments and characters look hideously crude.

Next level games has never dissapointed me but I'll wait and see. Was hoping for a real metroid experience on the 3DS or a real Metroid in general, not a spin-off. Anyone thinking metroid is dead and we won't ever have a true Metroid haven't paid attention to Nintendo as a company and how they've operated. Anyway as with all the other spinoffs they've announced, not excited but it could be interesting.

Could be fun. Kind of
a slap in the face to Metroid fans, though.

It's Nintendo. I wouldn't assume that.
Nintendo said online play for triforce heroes.

I'm sorry, but this pretty much confirms it.
Metroid fans are some of the whiniest babies around.
Between this, "Fucking Donkey Kong" and constantly complaining about "Why isn't Retro making Prime 4?", it's just nothing but complaining and not giving anything a single chance.
It's a single damn trailer and it's a Next Level Games thing, who have shown what they can do in the past.
Give the game a chance. Come the fuck on.

I know people would rather overreact, but here's a simple take on this game:

This was meant to be a small Hunters-style diversion. And was meant to launch along a 'proper' entry, alas in an alternative healthy-wiiU universe. Clearly at this stage Retro are all NX.

And on a console with over 100 million owners, it couldn't even break 2 million sales. Also there was a period where Prime Trilogy was going for $20 at a lot of stores in the US...
I'm beginning to doubt if half the people complaining about the absence of Metroid actually buy it.

Where's that from?

The samus part of that gif is from metroid prime 3. Near the endgame, she's
Dying from the phazon in her stream, and is coughing large amounts of it up

I'm sorry, but this pretty much confirms it.

You can tell whether a game is going to be great just by watching a trailer. Plus we already got quite a lot of gameplay shown of blastball.

This is not going to be great. It might be ok. Ok is not what we need for metroid. This is like them if we were getting a sequel to DKC:Returns, but instead of tropical freeze, it was Jungle Climber. It's technically a 2d platofmrer, that doesn't make it the game anyone would have wanted or asked for.

Yeah people should be happy that the next entry in a series that barely ever gets any entries is a 4 player co-op that looks more like Jet Force Gemini visually than anything Metroid. Pure entitlement for not liking this shit.

Schedule must be barren if they are whipping up these cheap co-op spinoffs for Metroid and Zelda.
Anyone who was paying attention knew we were gonna get a Metroid spinoff.

What's weird is that there's no accompanying "mother" title to go alongside it.

Not interested in this at all. Shame

Meh. Hunters was kind of fun when I had friends playing it, but it's really nothing I want in a new Metroid. Back in the drawer 3DS.
